The Bears requested to interview the Lions QB coach, Jim Bob Cooter, to be the OC

Sorry, I didn't see where you posted this first.

http://www.denverbroncos.com/team/coaches/...69-dc7427472037 Jeff Rodgers enters his fourth season as special teams coordinator for the Denver Broncos in 2014 after spending the previous two years coaching that unit under Broncos Head Coach John Fox in Carolina. In addition to his four seasons as a coordinator, he has seven years of NFL experience instructing special teams along with three years coaching at the collegiate level. In 2013, kicker Matt Prater earned his first career Pro Bowl selection along with second-team Associated Press All-Pro honors after setting the franchise scoring record (150 pts.) and connecting on 25-of-26 (96.2%) field goals. Included in his total was a 64-yarder against Tennessee on Dec. 8, to represent the longest field goal in NFL history.

He can't accept the job officially until after the Super Bowl, but they can get everything hammered out.

I completely disagree. KC would not drop Alex Smith for Cutler. Tannehill's job would be very safe in a QB competition vs. Cutler. I'm sure Minny would rather bank on Bridgewater turning out than starting Cutler. Group two, yes they all seem better than Cutler, some by a mile. The only exception is the red headed step child in Cincy. The other groups are just way better from either past success or pure talent.

To be fair, the Bears did hire a D minded HC and in pursuit of one of the best DC's in the league over he last 4 years. Plus Pace was a D player in college, maybe with them making the calls it will be more impressive than NO. One thing the Bears have now is depth. They have a lot of solid players on D. Guys you might not want to start, but if you have to they are there. Pace just needs to find some stars. How he handles the Cutler situation and this draft will have a huge impact on how I view him. Right now, I'm trying to leave it at a blank slate given the Fox hire. Even though I was leery of his hire considering the Saints personnel.
-
Ballad was a scout on a team with bad drafting, had 2 years experience in a higher position with the Bears, and one year with KC. Everyone wanted him to be a GM. This guy I guess is the Saints Ballard. We'll see what he can do, let's hope it's greatness.

A zombie may hold on to the ball to long, not be able to read a defense, or stare down his WR's... oh wait!!
-
McDaniels just said screw the haters, I'm going to continue to pass to the OL. That's fantastic and I hate the patriots. I didn't want to start a start a new thread so threw it in here.

On the PI, I just meant that Marshall was being a good team mate and helping him there. It may be a spark to start a fire, if the McCaskey's listen, but I honestly just think it is smoke. Hub is a contrarian. When the Bears traded for Cutler, he didn't want him. Now that ppl see him as bad, Hub thinks the Bears should keep him. He thought Emery should have kept his job, but complained about the lack of players on the team, bad contracts, and the Pace Hire. The Bears hire one of the top 10 coaches in the NFL, it was a poor choice. I listened to his show last night, and it was just hours of nonsense about the whole team. Bernstien is gets on his self righteous high horse more than he talks about football. When he quoted "his source" a month or 2 ago, it was the first I had heard of the Bears wanting to get rid of Marshall. More often than not, his source is wrong. I think the fact they both have been waving the Marshall is gone, that it's caught on a little bit. It makes little sense to me. Honstely, we don't know if anyone in the locker room don't like him. Robbie Gould probably doesn't, but he just kicks the ball.
-
It's just the stupid media like Berstien and Arkush pushing for Marshall to be gone. The guy is a top 10 WR in the league, and closer to top 5. He was just hurt this year. He's worked with Jeffery teaching him the tricks, and it made a big difference in Jeffery's play from his rookie year to his sophmore year. Remember when Jeffery kept getting offensive pass inferences? I've been on record for not liking Marshall cause of his past, but it would be silly to get rid of him now. He's just too damn good and young enough to be good a couple years when the team gets turned around.
-
I'm not sure Forte has any trade value. He's a 30 year old RB that also had high mileage in college. I'd rather see him finish out with the Bears. I also would hate to see Marshall go. The WR situation in Chicago was almost as bad as the QB situation for the Bears for years, and he's a top 10 at least WR in the league, and should continue to be for 4 or 5 years. The likely hood of a player drafted from a trade bringing as much value to the team is rather low.

Fox isn't, he is staying in town to assemble his staff.
-
Fangio is interviewing with the Bears FIRST!! Fox's name must carry some clout.
-
They have let up the 2nd least amount of points since he was hired in 2011. He must have learned something his 5 years in Baltimore between DC gigs.
-
Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe poor wording from Schefter, and they were just asking him to interview? He's going to be in demand, he already has interview scheduled with the Redskins, and I am sure many teams are lighting his agents phone number up. Fox is well respected, and his last 2 DC have gotten HC jobs. That may be appealing to Fangio.
-
I'm concerned about his drafting and player acquisitions, but he has impressed me so far.
-
https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/556256481545170944 He's no Mel Tucker, but impressive!
-
They just requested to interview Vic Fangio from the 49ers for DC.

http://baltimoresportsandlife.com/baltimor...-system-part-2/ This is from an article about the type of offense Mularkey runs and other teams in the league that run the system. The article was a pretty good read.
-
I'd really like to see Mularkey get it. He's ran some pretty good offenses, they were good enough to get a HC gig twice. He got Matt Ryan in his rookie year, and did a good job developing him.

From what I read, teams can't deny a position coach from interviewing for a HC job, but they can for any other job.
