  1. Wouldn't that be 7 wins divided by 22 total games, or 32%?
  2. I wonder why he would want to go to that mess. I know he is bro's with Lovie, but that team is a mess. Dallas on the other hand was a few plays from being in the conference championship.
  3. I wouldn't mind having him in an advisory role with the title of Assistant Head Coach or something similar. His knowledge could be valuable to a first time HC or first time DC. That's about as far as I would go, I wouldn't want to chance losing an integral part of the team such as DC due to health issues or death.
  4. I really don't like Quinn or Gase. Gase, I don't even understand why he is getting interviews. I think most of Quinn's success is from Pete Carroll. Carroll's roots came from defense, and I think Quinn may be similar to Billechick's assistants. Bowles has been around the league a little while. He may be good, or there may be reasons he hasn't got a HC gig yet. I dunno, I just like the idea of getting in early with Austin. It just a feeling I guess, that he could be great.
  5. As a position coach, he has been to the super bowl with 3 teams, won 1 I think. He's worked with some great college and NFL coaches. He took basically the same Lions defense from last year from 16th in yards to 2nd in his one year there. They were 15th in points last year and 3rd this year. It seems to me, his players clearly want to play for him. He has only had the one year as DC, but so did Mike Tomlin. I think he's the kind of guy that players will love, like they did with Lovie Smith. That's one of the most important things to me. He should be able to command a room, and get the best out of his players.
  6. He's scheduled for Tuesday, I hope he gets the job.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-instant-repl...-the-first-down I'm not even sure the ball touched the ground, he had his hand under the tip, and the ball up on his arm. The pylon is kind of in the way to see if the ball hits the ground. Edit: Either way, it's a bs rule. He had both feet and a fore arm and the other elbow on the ground.
  8. That may be how they are in fan's opinions, but that's a broad the talent spectrum of the QB's listed.
  9. As far as I know, the Cowboys were never going to dump Romo. They were going to go the Aaron Rodgers route. That wouldn't have been a horrible idea, considering Romo will be 35 this year and if Manziel was actually going to be a good QB one day. Learning behind Romo would be good for any young QB. He is one of the best in the league. Cutler isn't half the QB that Romo is.
  10. I think Cutler's faults are well known around the league considering the number of OC interviews that Trestman had this year. Kubiak is one of the few HC candidates that actually may want to keep him around, more than a stop gap. We know Shanny still thinks Cutler is a franchise QB. I don't want to see a team plan around Cutler being their QB for the next 3 or 4 years again. I definitely won't be watching the games as religiously if they do.
  11. Those ties are exactly why I don't want him.
  12. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/554261179564978177 I wish they still had Orton, it would be interesting to see what Orton can do in Trestman's system if he is hired as OC.
  13. I really don't care if the team is relevant this year. I'd rather see a pick around 10 instead of 20 next year. There is just so much needed. That said, I definitely would like to see the Bears sign McCourty and possibly Brandon Marshall. I also think that is a possibility if they become free agents. Pace said he hoped that the team would get to where they can use free agency, to let them draft BPA in the draft. That would eliminate 2 needs and help get them to that point.

  15. Pace, I imagine, knows and respects Kromer pretty well. We know Kromer's opinion of Cutler.
  16. He must have really made a good impression on Ernie, if Ernie is going to let him lean on him.
  17. He's on the score now, he just said it was made clear, all football decisions are all through him.
  18. He brought up a team not being able to win with turnovers early in the interview, and reliabilty when asking about drafting a QB. He helped bring in Brees, and has been around him everyday. That should be an asset in finding a QB going forward.
  19. He really made a point to say he took this job because he was empowered. There was a change in his tone when he said it. I don't think Ted will get in his way, I'm not sure there have ever been reports of Ted getting in a GMs way.
  20. He has a good personality and made a good impression on me, even though he really didn't say much.
  21. Being empowered is why he is here
  22. Doesn't care about coach or scheme, looking for the best MAN for the job.
  23. Del Rio was who I was wanting 1st, but I don't see it happening. Austin is hovering around my 3rd also. Austin was the first interview after Pace's hiring, so I think he is definitely in the running.
  24. Austin has worked under Joe Paterno, Jim Caldwell, Paul Pasqualoni, Mike Holgrem, Ken Whisenhunt, Urban Meyer, John Harbaugh, and now Caldwell again. He has worked for some big name and good coaches is in time, so something may have rubbed off on him.
