  1. His profile on the Chiefs website claims having a hand in people like Tommy Harris, Knox and Vasher. He was an area scout here under Angelo. When Emery came, he was promoted to pro personnel scouting in 2012.
  2. The Bears are in a bad position, mainly due to the bad drafting. Ballard had a hand in those drafts.
  3. Newsome is interesting, but is involved with pro personnel. The Bears need someone who can draft. Ballard is a 10 year Angelo disciple, enough said. Marc Ross has been turned down for over 8 of the jobs open the last 3 years. Dawson is a pro scout on a bad team.
  4. No relation. He's been with their team since they became the Ravens in some form. He played for Accorsi with the Browns. He's only the director of pro personnel now.
  5. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/549938413475229698 Ian RapoportVerified account ‏@RapSheet Four interview targets for #Bears GM opening: Chris Ballard (KC), Mark Ross (NYG), Lake Dawson (TEN), Vince Newsome (BAL)
  6. The Bears have a really good line and depth. With the absence of Kromer, their play may change. This year they were just severely injured. The Bears had to start 9 different line ups in 16 games this year. The only thing really missing is a RT. That can be addressed a number of ways. Long could slide out, draft a RT later in the draft, trust the guys on the roster will develop more, or free agency. Bushrod isn't perfect but he's pretty darn good. Slauson was a great pick up last year, but was lost early in the season. DLP and Garza have center covered. Long is a 2 time Pro Bowler. Obviously, I think the Bears need a QB. If that's not available, then they need to find a special player on defense. The Bears defensive tackles are pretty deep, so any other position. I don't want to see the Bears trade down. The D needs a game changer, and the top talent at a few D positions will be there at 7.

I'd like to see them cut Robbie Gould. Accountability for saying all he did, and to free up a couple million.

The football czar/president is completely different animal in my opinion. The whole idea of that is that they have a proven track record. Their results are available. For any questions, the former owners, presidents, and subordinates that they worked for/with previously as a GM can be consulted. Most GM candidates are mostly scouts or directors of scouts. All of their work filters through a GM, and the GM ultimately makes all of the decisions. There's no track record, so it's more of a crap shoot. Only the results of the guy above them and word of mouth and their interview can be used for the hire. If a football czar was hired a GM, he would been there for mentoring and to help the new GM make the transition from scouting to GM easier over the years. That makes Phillips and McCaskey's decision even more important. They HAVE to get some one prepared now. I imagine Accorsi will make suggestions and help them through the selection process. I just don't think he will say, "Hire this guy."
  9. I'm wondering if they are holding onto the right to hire the coach, and possibly chasing off some GM candidates.
  10. Did anyone pick up on something I missed? I didn't hear a definitive answer on that process. From the presser, I took away this. -They wouldn't rule out hiring a Coach first -When asked who would hire the GM and Coach, George and Teddy committed to final say on the GM but no mention of the coach -Multiple times, they commented on Accorsi being hired through the process of finding a GM and a coach -The specifically mentioned that half a dozen representatives for coaches had contacted them, and they add to the list once it's sorted out I don't know if the Bears are going to relegate to a GM the ability to hire the new coach.

The guy has interviewed for at least a quarter of the teams in the NFL the last few years. If that many teams didn't want him, I really don't.

Ted's the president, and sounds like he is quite involved and will be still. Atleast that's what I took from some of their answers. He sounded heavily involved in talks of getting rid of Emery and Trestman. I'm guessing he is good at pushing off blame to others. Thankfully, George paraphrased, 91 year old Virginia McCaskey was pissed. I didn't take away much confidence from the conference.

His hire makes me want to go back and watch the 30 for 30 Elway to Marino. If I remember right, he quit over Irsay trading Elway. I'm trying to read up on the Panther's GM that he helped them hire in 2012.

He was hired as the consultant for the search for a new GM and Coach.
  15. Bernstien is reporting is that the Bears may hire a president of football operations that is an experienced sports executive in the mold of the Packers. The Pack hired Mark Murphy who was the athletic director at Northwestern, and he then went out and found Ted Thompson.
  16. I just can't see wanting a coach that has won only one play off game since the year before Cutler was drafted. With his big name, he will also want last say on the draft and free agents, and likely his own GM and so on. He hasn't enough lately for me to want to see the Bears hitch their wagon to Shannahan.

I like him and think he is good for the team. I'm not sure on the money, there are conflicting articles. The first says he can be cut, the other says it was guaranteed back in April. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...ads-up-in-2015/ http://q.usatoday.com/2014/03/27/jared-all...plus-an-option/

I think you can cut Allen as long as you do by March.
  19. I hope Trestman isn't running their defense.
  20. It's just weird they announced Kromer too. It's obvious he won't be here next year. Just throwing out a possibility. I know Michigan has Harbaugh wrapped up, Larry Foote reported he picked up Harbaugh at the airport. If the reports of him listening to calls are true instead, this could be Michigan's Dave McGinnis.
  21. There are reports teams are still trying to talk to Harbaugh. It's possible they are keeping Tucker for the Rooney Rule interview, just in case Harbaugh says yes. they can get a quick interview in with Tucker and hire Harbaugh on the spot. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/549612432877187072
  22. Hopefully they bring some pooper scoopers. Being reported that Virginia McCaskey expressing her embarrassment of the team drove the team to make the changes.
  23. Plus, McCown is locked up for the year and succeeded in their offense last year.
  24. I like Cutler, awesome guy. He's just shit quarterback.
