  1. Exactly. As I said, if a candidate's plans involve Cutler, I would move on to the next candidate. He is bad, and the team needs to move on. Letting a new HC decide, is like firing Trestman but keeping Tucker and letting the new coach decide on him. On Cutler's cap hit if there is a trade, the new team assumes the contract. However, the Bears have 5 million prorated over 4 years. Cutler's salary next year is 15.5m +1 million of the prorated money, so a 16.5 million cap number. If he is traded, he will only count the 4 million left over of the prorated 5 million. It's a saving of 12.5 million.
  2. I have no idea, but if the rumor is true and Snyder wants him, then I'd jump on it.
  3. Are you guys freaking serious? After 10 years, you think a new coach will get more out of Cutler? How? I mean that is just a ridiculous. If a new coach or GM came in claiming he can get more out of Cutler, I'd go to the next candidate. And why would Harbaugh be the one? Keapernick has regressed every year in San Fran and they are regretting the big deal they gave him. Cutler has to go, to do otherwise is just setting the team back another couple years.
  4. Nah, the Rams already used up their last Redskins pick when they drafted Robinson #2 overall in the 2014 draft. WB Twig btw
  5. Cousins is horrible, but I would do it in a heartbeat to get out of that contract. Right now the Redskins pick 5th. Jacksonville and Oakland are 3rd and 4th and neither need a QB. The Titans need a QB at number 2. Lovie and Tampa is first and need a QB, but will he draft one. I'm not sure if QB worth the 5th pick will be there. But the Bears could get Mariotta or Winston if either Tampa or the Titans doesn't go QB. If the Bears stay at their pick, they also have the Jets and Skins that could be looking QB.

    Go Saints!!!

Welcome back Twig, I don't see it, but it's needed. Emery to Cutler overhaul. Emery wasted money on this coaching staff, the QB, and drafted/brought in free agents that add up to the team we saw tonight.

I won too, cause Forte and Jeffery did so bad. Cutler better not be back next year. This was beyond embarrassing. Trade him for a 7th to clear the cap space.

    Go Saints!!!

No gruden talk as a coach again. He's tied up til 2021.

    Go Saints!!!

I wouldn't say no effort. I mean the defense is playing better than they should against the saints.

    Go Saints!!!

I definitely want the pick. Now I don't have to feel bad for wanting Forte and Jeffery to not do much. I play against them in my main fantasy league, ppr, up 35 points going into the night.
  11. Need him healthy, to hopefully trade.
  12. To be fair, he claimed he didn't leak the buyer remorse part. He manned up to the team and admitted to the criticism of Cutler's play and the example that was given. Rapoport likely combined his comments with other rumors and leaks he had heard. Kromer is taking the backlash for all of it. Personally, I don't hold any of this against Kromer. It could have a lingering effect that follows him through out his career and he likely cost himself his job for putting his name to it.
  13. Kromer is going to come on at 1:20 Chicago time, then Cutler, and then Tresman to talk to the press. It really disappoints me it was Kromer. He's the one coach I wanted to see back next year. And I am a little disappointed that those comments didn't come from someone higher than him. Getting caught saying that means he has to be gone at the end of the year.

    Ryan Groy

Brian of the Point could always be back.

    Offseason Options

I think atleast one team would take a flyer on him in trade. One of like the Jets, Buccs, or Titans that will miss out on Winston or Mariota and may be willing to trade. It would only cost them 12.5 million for the year. They could cut him after the year with no cap hit. If he works out on the new team, they have him locked up for multiple years. I don't think the Bears will get much in return, except for a conditional pick and cap space.

    Offseason Options

The one before it was fire the coaching staff and keep Cutler. Clean house had Cutler going, so I thought staff there also referred to coaching staff.

    Offseason Options

I picked other. I wanted to pick Clean House, but the option doesn't include getting rid of Emery. I'm not going to trust a GM that thought Trestman and Tucker to be good coaches to pick a new coach. Nor, am I going trust said GM to find a QB that thought Cutler was worth that contract. Because of that, I would lean more towards status quo. That way, it's more likely next year that they will be fired and Cutler moved. There is no other positive there, so i can't pick losing. I just pick other.
  19. Agreed, and I wouldn't even want him as a LB coach. Almost every LB the Bears will have will be young guys needing developed, and I would rather trust that to a more proven LB coach.

    Draft LT?

Young isn't that good against the run, and hasn't been that effective lately. I also think Allen can turn it around next year, but there is still the need for a stud DE down the road. Paea is having his best year, and I really like Ratcliff but he is aging. Sutton and Ferguson may be able to contribute, but I don't think they are special players. Depending on who is there, I really want a QB. I think LB and Safety are the next biggest needs, but I don't like a pick as early as the Bears spent on either position. That's why I lean towards QB if the right one is there then BPA after that.
  21. That's basically where I am at, no hope. I don't think a new head coach will help. I'm not saying coaching is good, but I think it's more of a personnel thing. Emery hired Trestman, his coaching staff, gave Cutler an extension, and has let the D go to crap. Between money wasted on his decisions and the state of the team, I don't see how his head isn't first on the chopping table. Obviously, others need it too, but he is the designer of what you see on the field this year. He's responsible for all coaching hires, all the defensive players brought in, resigned, and not released. If I am a coach that was great at one time, I don't want to ruin my reputation with this franchise this year. If I am an up and coming coach, I wouldn't want to ruin my future by taking a chance with this talent and GM.
  22. What good old coach or up and coming coach with options will want this job? It's not a favorable situation for a guy to want to come out of retirement and could be a career killer for a young coach. The QB sucks, the elite rb is going to be 30, the defense if devoid of talent, and Emery is a crap GM.

    Draft LT?

If they see their Aaron Rodgers, they have to get him. Jay Cutler just isn't the answer. Drafting a LT would be near the bottom of my list. The line wasn't great this year, but a lot of that did have to do with injuries. Bushrod is not bad, and Long still has the possibility of sliding over. The Bears need about everything, so BPA wouldn't be especially bad. There's not a standout DT or DE on the team. Briggs will be gone, and the Bears will be left without a starting quality linebacker. The safeties are atrocious. Jennings is getting older and his deficiencies were covered up by Tillman, but Fuller is no Tillman at this point. Forte will be 30, which is never good for a RB with his mileage in college and the NFL. And so on.
  24. I'd still take McCown. The Bears did absolutely nothing on offense in the first half against a D worse than the Bears. . Atleast McCown has his offense moving.
