    Embarrassing

Mannings looked alot better this year too and that's coming from somoene that hated the pick and gave him hell ever since. The defense had no heart today. I was pissed everytime I saw the sideline, the guys were just kicked back and relaxed and didn't look like they could give a $h!!+

    That's all i can say
  3. atdhe.net has the game too
  4. I don't see Boldin as an option. They finally won their division after how many years? I know there is the emergence of Breaston, but Boldin has had alot with them getting there. I just don't see them letting him go. The best WR on the block this year will probably be Ocho Cinco, with TJ Who's ya momma being the best in free agency. Johnson/Cino's less then stellar year, I think, just shows that they are both done with each other. It's good for whoever goes for him this offseason, as it should drop the price in trade. He's still only 30, and while I think TJ is the better receiver at this point in their careers, I think he should still be an option worth looking at.
  5. Kyle Orton set a franchise record by throwing 185 consecutive passes without an interception, helping the Bears (6-5) rebound from a 37-3 blowout loss at Green Bay last week and keep a share of first place in the balanced NFC North. That's from yahoo's recap of the game, it's not worth reading but i'll just post the link to be on the safe side. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/recap?gid=20081123014
  6. All you have to do is look at a team like miami or the falcons. No one thought they were going to be successful this year with thier players, but coaching has led both to a pretty successful season.
  7. I got bored and considering all the threads about firing people this week, I figured I'd take some time and give my opinion on what should be done with all of the coaches. Lovie Smith Head Coach- Over there years here, I have made it pretty clear that I hate his scheme and really just don't like him as a coach. That being said, I can't find a reason for him to lose his job, or think of a comparable firing in the NFL. I know Dungy was fired for not being able to get his team over the top, but Lovie did have this team in the Super Bowl a couple years ago and the team has been pretty successful since his tenure started here. TravD says: Keep Around Bob Bablich Defensive Coordinator He was brought in to run Lovie's Defense the way he wanted it ran. He did that. Unfortunately, Lovie's version just isn't good. Ron Rivera's contrast is part of what made this D special. TravD says: You're Fired! Ron Turner Offensive Coordinator Ron has given me the most wtf moments of any coach on the Bears current staff. That being said, this year he has done alot with nothing this year. He also coached an offense that went to the Super Bowl. TravD says: You're safe until there's a new Bears Head Coach. Dave Toub Special Teams He succesfully fielded one of the best special teams units in the league. He's had the advantage of having players filling roster spots just to improve his special teams needs, but fulfilled that potential. TravD says: EXTENDED!!! Hell I'd like to see you retire as our Special Teams Coach, lock him up as long as possible. Pep Hamilton Quarterback Coach I'm not going to lie, last year I absolutely hate this guy. We heard all the work Grossman was doing on going back to basics and muscle memory training. Well it never seemed to work to well. The emergence of Orton this year shows me this guy has really been doing his job. The Orton of today is not the same as the one before Pep. TravD says: Extension for you my friend!!! Rob Boras Tight End Coach What can I say about this guys unit? He has Clark on a level he can start on most teams, but not on ours because Boras has done such a great job with Olsen. He also had our rookie Davis looking great this preseason. TravD says: Extended!!! Without a doubt. Darryl Drake Wide Reciever Coach Hester is coming along pretty darn well in his progression. He's really farther then what I thought he would be this year. There is also not alot of talent to work with at his position he is coaching, or so we think. Looking at recent ex-Bear WR's have been doing lately makes me think this guy has to be one of th worst coaches on the team. Gage is the top wide receiver on the best team in the league and the addition of Bradley to one of the worst teams in the league was a major help to their offense turning looking respectable. Bobby Wade even scored a TD this week. TravD says: You're fired!!! Get the hell off my team. Tim Spencer Running Back Coach Spence was given a top 5 draft pick to nurse and coddle into being an elite running back. He didn't accomplish that mission. I don't think it had anything to do with him and more to do with that pick screwing it up and being mentally unstable. What he has done since he has been here is resurrect Thomas Jones career, helped Matt Forte look like a superstar, and made AP look like a starter in the league at times along with other RB's the Bears have in and out of camp every year. TravD says: Extension! You have earned it. Harry Hiestand Offensive Line Coach The Bears have arguabley one of the least talented lines in the NFL. He was able to take this lackluster group and turn them into a respectable unit giving Orton time to make plays and Forte enough holes to look like a top back in the league. TravD says: Extended!! He's doing a hell of a lot with so little. Luke Butkus Assistant OL Coach See above TravD says: Extension for you! Charles London Offensive Assistant/Assistant WR Coach I have no idea who you are or what you do. I'm half tempted to say fired because of guilty by association to the WR corps. TravD says: You can stick around a little. Brick Haley Defensive Line Coach Ok, so you are given arguabley the most talent field area of the team and you help make them look like the worst in the league. I personally think the scheme has a lot to do with the failure at the position, but it's completely unacceptable for a coach to have this much talent and have them produce so little. TravD says: You're F'n Fired, fired today, don't pack you're crap up, we'll mail it all to you!!! Stephen Wilks Defensive Back Coach Wilks has made players like Graham and McBride look very good over the last couple years. Which makes this one of the hardest decisions of all the ones I've faced so far. I can't help but think a team with 2 Pro Bowl CB's and a Pro Bowl quality safety would be a hell of alot better. I like you're development of younger players, but if you can't get better then this out of your starters, well .... TravD Says: Hit the road Jack, You're Fired!!! Lee Lloyd Linebacker Coach You have a pretty easy job. You're given Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher to coach. Urlacher's production has declined this year, but I put that on purely scheme and it's not like Urlacher would be dropping off due to his coaching. TravD Says: You can stick around. Gill Byrd Assistant Definsive Back/Safeties An ASSistant coach to the second most embarrassing unit on this team... TravD Says: You're F-I-R-E-D FIRED!!!! Rusty Jones Strength and Conditioning Coordinator There's been a lot of injuries and the guys don't look like they are in too great of condition. TravD Says: U R FIRED!!! Jim Arthur Strength and Conditioning Assistant Same as above. TravD Says: You're fired! Eric Washington Defensive Assistant/D-Line Assistant He was just hired this year and the assistant to this D-line when they are the worst they have ever looked. TravD Says: Do I even need to say it? You're FIRED!!! Chris Tabor Special Teams Assistant Normally, this would be an automatic extension, since well, the Bears special teams over the years. Unfortunately tho, he was just hired this year, and well... the Bears special teams hasn't been as good this year. TravD Says: You can stick around a little while
  8. and im there all alone lol
  9. It was the offense being in effective at moving the ball that ended up with them being in bad field position. The numbers that stood out to me wasn't exactly who did better in those situations. It was the number of times each QB had faced that situation. Orton played in what, 7.5 games and Grossman 1.5 games. Orton was only in that position 12 times and Grossman 8 in only 1 and a half games.
  10. While you could argue they are over paid, I think they've been more then adequate for years. The only thing that has changed with them personally this year that could effect their play is injuries and off the field issues. On the field, the main difference is there isn't a pass rush. I think it has alot to do with Bablich and Lovie's scheme more then anything. I just think this D as they are running it has been figured out. It's been exposed how to beat them, they rarely change what they are going to do from game to game, and other teams are copycatting. I think when basically every player on D, the same one from a dominant D a couple years ago, it all has to go on the coaches. You'll look on here and see threads on how there is no pass rush. You'll see threads on the CBs. People are saying it's time for Mike Brown to retire and Urlacher to retire. People are glad Hillenmeyer is off the field and that only leaves like Briggs and Payne with out complaints. I can't believe all these players all of a sudden got bad. I think it's more easy to believe Lovie/Bablich have been exposed and unable or unwilling to adjust. Losing their players faith in the system and not being able to motivate them.
  11. Orton may not be a hall of famer, yet, but he certainly don't suck. He's shown massive improvement over his rookie year and continues to develop. That's something Rex could never do, so you're atleast half right, he does suck.
  12. I would like to see them bring in a vet and keep Hanie around. That way you aren't banking on Hanie but trying to develop him, while having a back up like the cowboys do now for when Romo just went down.
  13. I love your cig, best I've ever seen!!!

    Orton SUCKS

Oakland was week 10. I didn't throw it out. I was comparing the 3 Games in which Grossman got benched, compared to the first 3 games Orton has played this year. I would disagree the D is much better. The team held SD to 14 points the first game and KC to 10 the second, before gettin killed by Dal in a game Grossman had 3 int's. Side note... the one TD Grossman had at that point was to John St. Clair. The only offensive TD other then that was a run by Benson.

    Orton SUCKS

Rex Grossman's first 3 games to start last year.... At SD QBrating-53.7 Yards-145 Long-24 TD's-0 INt's-1 Sacks-3 KC QBrating 56.0 Yards-160 Long-21 TD's-1 INT's-2 Sacks-3 Dal QBrating-27.5 Yards-195 Long-52 TD's-0 INT's-3 Sacks 3 Totals for first 3- Yards-500 Long-52 TD's-1 INT's-6 Sacks 9 Orton's first 3 games this season.... @Indy QBrating 83.4 Yards-150 Long-29 TD's-0 INT's-0 Sacks-2 @Car QBrating 71.0 Yards-149 Long-32 TD's-o INT's 0 Sacks-1 TB QBrating- 83.9 Yards-268 Long-27TD's2 INT's 2 Sacks-3 Total for first 3 games for Orton.. Yards-567 Long-32 TD's 2 INT's 2 Sacks-6 Orton has clearly had a better start to this year then Grossman had last year. His lowest QB rating was 71 compared to Grossman's highest of 56. He has double the TD's and one third the INT's as Grossman had. He's also only been sacked 2/3rd's as much as Grossman was. Grossman did have an over all long pass of 52 in the first 3 games, but all of orton's 3 games, he passed for longer then Rex did in the other 2. At that point, keep in mind, Rex had alot more experience in the NFL then Orton has so far. I don't see why all the griping over Orton. Has he been great? No he hasn't. Is he the best option on the team, I think a good argument can be mad he is.
  16. Sorry if this looks like a wasted post, but I just wanted to get some people in the chatroom this week for the game. Alot of people, like myself, probably scan right down past the top posts and forget about it. Let's fill up the chatrooma and watch the Chicago Bears go to 2-1!!! http://pub25.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/2092760412
  17. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080917/sp_nm/nfl_vikings_dc_1 Frerotte replaces Jackson as Vikings quarterback 1 hour, 24 minutes ago NEW YORK (Reuters) - The winless Minnesota Vikings will replace quarterback Tarvaris Jackson with veteran Gus Frerotte in the hope of jump-starting a stagnant passing game, coach Brad Childress said Wednesday. ADVERTISEMENT Minnesota opened the season as leading contenders to win the NFC North but have stumbled with losses to Green Bay and Indianapolis. "I feel like we have an opportunity here that I don't want to let pass by," Childress told reporters. "Obviously we have a chance to have a successful season and so we don't let things potentially slip away... I'm going to make a change at quarterback." Jackson, in his third NFL season, has completed 30 of 59 passes for 308 yards, one touchdown and one interception during a 24-19 loss to Green Bay and an 18-15 setback to the Colts. "I know full well that one position is not responsible and that everyone needs to step up," Childress said. "But I'm just not seeing right now the aggressiveness from Tarvaris that I saw throughout the offseason, training camp, the two preseason games he played in. "Part of it may be experience and I know Gus will give us that." The 37-year-old Frerotte is in his 15th NFL season and has played for seven teams, including the Vikings during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Childress said the benching of Jackson did not mean the end of his Vikings career. "There are many quarterbacks in this league that have experienced bumps in the road," he said. "It's part of the experience factor. "While I know he doesn't like it -- I'd worry about him if he did like it -- I know he'll make the most of it." The Vikings host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. 18. I got Andre Johnson on my team, so I'm super interested on whats going on.
  19. It's the first game of the season, we need some more Bears fans in there.
  20. I have had my misses in the draft for sure, I'm not that bad on players from with in the NFL tho, at least on players I think are special. I saw Plaxico play every week because I'm in a Steeler's market. I had followed Turner for years and seen most of his playing time. Brees was more of a we need a QB, he has hella good talent, and given the Bears history at QB I would gamble on him. Filler players, or players that just because that's what is available are ones I have more of a bad record on. Like Griese, I wanted Brees, but with him I was like atleast it's an upgrade. I'm still not sold on him being a bust here last year tho. I felt they played out of his specialty having him throw for over 35 times a game. Warner would be another player. He hasn't been rocking or sucking since he was available and it's impossible to tell what he would do with this talent in comparison to whats in Arizona. I would throw Berrian in there, I didn't feel he was as special as I did Plaxico, but thought he was worth spending the franchise on. That could easily be a bad decision on my part.
