  1. According to Adam Schefter And Ian Rappaport The Bears And Smith Have Come To Terms
  2. The pace of practice was faster than I have ever seen and I went to TC going back to Lovie! The Ints are a result of the amount of plays they seem to be getting off during practice and it seems he is only getting one read and the ball comes out. With me being on vacation I will be able to see the first unit in the HOF game.
  3. I was at camp yesterday and the pace of the practice was something I had never seen at TC before! Constant motion every team drill whether 7 on 7 or full 11 on 11 was on the 30 second clock. There seemed to be a big emphasis on all the QBs to get the ball out quick or check down. Anthony Miller looks like we may have something and Kevin White looked like he's playing for his life.Cohen and Howard in some drills were split out wide. Mitchell Trubisky didn't look good to me. He was throwing the ball high and Amukamara picked him twice in a 3 play span. A couple of times under duress from the rush he threw off his back foot with bad results. After hearing Nagy talk I didn't realize the players had the previous day off but, Trubisky looked a little off the whole day as some of his WRs made highlight catches. Anthony Miller continues to act like he has something to prove and Allen Robinson looked smooth and appeared to be holding back. As for the defense the front 3 will have some real size to chose from. Hicks looks all of 330 pounds and Bilal Powell looks like a mountain. Goldman moved well but Bullard still seems like his motor is half on. WTBS this group looks poised to have a breakout year. The OLBs Lynch in shorts and watching next to Trevathan but Floyd if he is heavier it wasn't obvious to my eyes. He was moving well though and showed no ill affects of his injury though he did walk into the tent once during drills for a short time but came back out and immediately jumped back in. As is the case in most camps and especially this one the defense looked light years ahead of the offense. So far nothing has been mentioned about this but Grasu walked right pass me during practice in route to the locker room and seemed to be limping. As he walked past I mentioned to the group I was sitting with that I felt he was getting cut this year. He also was wearing knee braces on both knees. Again I can't over emphasis how fast the pace of practice was. There was constant work during the whole 3 hour period and when a group wasn't participating in a drill they worked on the next field as a group. That is how I got a chance to see Floyd up close and if he is 250 it must be all muscle because only his lower base looked thicker. The OLB group as a whole looked small and more speed focused than powerful.

    Roquan Smith

If I can't root for a guy like this , I'm not human!

    RPOs

RPO is what got Wentz, Watson and Tanehill injured and IMO keeps the box filled with someone to shadow the QB.

    RPOs

As I read the whole thread as usual the main topic of the post gets side tracked. AZ you originally posted what I consider a fantasy with a video because you are projecting how the players we have acquired will do in the scheme of the Eagles even though Nagy came from the Chiefs So please explain your angle on this so an old guy like me can understand.
  7. Whenever I try and project touches for Cohen, Special Teams touches have to be factored in first where he has been electric.
  8. With Erik Flowers and the Giants at odds that could be a possibility. The Giants declined picking up his 5th year option and he is reportedly upset at being switched to ROT because of their trade for Nate Solder.
  9. If he was the target of the trade up in round one, they would have taken him at 39. A couple of sources indicated that the target was Ridley was the target for the round 1 trade up.
  10. All indications from all the analysts is this guy is going to be an OLB. WTBS Jones is gone, Freeman is gone and the 2 guys who started the offseason at the top of the depth chart at ILB have durability issues. Timu and Anderson are not getting ringing endorsements with these picks and shouldn't. Listening to the Pace presser, he indicated that Whitehair was staying at OC and Danials would compete at LG.
  11. I like Pitt OT Brian O'Neill as a sleeper pick.
  12. Ding Ding ! The very reason Trevathan can't stay healthy is his size playing in the middle of this defensive scheme. Smith is the same approx. size and attacks ball carriers the same as Trevathan but this isn't the SEC and he will have a blocker or two to deal with on that second level unless the front 3 are wrecking the opponents o-line. I look at Edmunds and think Patrick Willis with more range and Julian Pederson who was like a Swiss Army knife for the 49er defense.
  13. Pace has only 3 drafts. White, Floyd and Trubisky. Mariotta was in the same draft as White and Wentz was in the Floyd draft.
  14. 8 Tremaine Edmunds ILB Va Tech 39 Isaiah Oliver CB Colo. 105 Desmond Harrison OT West Georgia 115 Marquis Haynes OLB Mississippi 145 Allen Lazard WR Iowa ST. 181 Holton Hill CB Texas 224 Jamil Damby OG Maine I tried to think of a scenario where either Lorenzo Carter OLB Georgia or Brian ONeill OT Pitt is at 39 but, I believe both will be gone by that pick. As for Harrison, he will be a project but, Hiestand is a good tutor. My alternate pick at 105 is Kemeko Turay OLB Rutgers.
  15. Yes and there is a poster on this board who thinks that he has all the answers and knows what Pace will do come draft day
  16. When Fangio was in SF he had 2 outstanding ILBs Bowman and Willis. He doesn't have anyone comparable to those two. That's why an ILB at 8 would not shock me.
  17. I don`t know how some of you can say definitively how Ryan Pace will draft especially after 2017. Lets Review! 2015 7 Kevin White 31 Eddie Goldman 71 Hroniss Grasu 106 Jeremy Langford 142 Adrian Amos 183 Tayo Fabaluge 2016 9 Leonard Floyd 56 Cody Whitehair 72 Jonathan Bullard 113 Nick Kwiakoski 124 Deon Bush 127 Deondre Hall 150 Jordon Howard 185 DeAndre Houston-Carsen 230 Daniel Braverman 2017 2 Mitchell Trubisky 45 Adam Shaheen 112 Eddie Jackson 119 Tarek Cohen 147 Jordon Morgan This is his list and I honestly have no idea how he will draft ,making this very intriguing for me.
  18. Right Out The Gate The BEARS Are On Prime Time!
  19. Bears and packers open up Sunday Night.
  20. " He is not terrible at pass catching but is not great." Re read that yourself and tell me what that means. To me that sounds like mediocre which is not my take, I say he is limited.
  21. The RB that Nagy just worked with in KC was Kareem Hunt a rookie from a mid major conference who has very good receiving skills and allows his team to use the same personnel on all downs. Right now that is not the type of back Howard is. If we follow the history of most west coast style offenses, backs with pass catching ability are a staple. The check down pass is one of the things that is need to help this style of offense succeed and it's not guaranteed that Howard would make that work with his current skill set.
  22. I've been all in on Allen Lazard of Iowa State as one of our 4th rounders.
  23. Okay I'll bite. Howard transferred from UAB to Indiana because of the football program being dropped at UAB. WTBS isn't Tevin Coleman a former Hoosier RB? Why is this rb so versatile and Howard not? He was in the same program but doesn't possess the same skills. Why is that? Its because he is a one trick pony. Yes he is a great runner and an underrated blocker( why he was on the field on 3rd downs regardless of hands) but, he is not (taking the HOF RBs of this franchise out of the equation)Raymont Harris, Anthony "A Train" Thomas,Thomas Jones or Matt Forte. These are all backs that played for this team and could at least execute a screen. If the ball goes in Howard's direction it is not a given that he will catch it.
  24. In 3 drafts Pace has traded up in 2 of them in round 1 and can't believe he wasn't trying to trade up in all 3.I'm bracing myself for something unexpected like,Floyd,Trubisky,Shaheen and Cohen. Though my latest mock had Ward in the mix at 8 Davenport is a Pace type of pick.
  25. I believe Howard is who he is. No other great back in Bears' history had to learn how to catch out of the backfield when they got here and if someone gives you an offer that is reasonable then it should be considered. This thread is based on the rumor of a day 3 pick that could be used to get a top pick. Why is that hard to imagine since this is smoke screen time.
