  1. The same guy that drafted Peanut Tillman drafted Roosevelt Williams also.
  2. With his age, I'm thinking one of the other veterans since Jones is younger and core special teams player like Acho.
  3. With the amount of OCs Cutler played under during his career, his knowledge of how a team wants to/should attack a defense should be over the top. The way he presents it will be how his success in the booth is determined. If he can break down plays for the not so sophisticated fan without coming off being arrogant will be the key. Most former QBs in the booth and panel shows come off as arrogant imo.
  4. You-Love ! You continue to hit fans in our minds and hearts! Thank You My Bear Brother!
  5. Very strong and heart warming post by you all! My first memories of this team are from 1966 as a 6 year old with a father and 2 older brothers shaping my fandom. My dad(RIP) was an avid Gayle Sayers fan so who do I hold in the highest regard in Bears' lore? Gayle Sayer! My oldest brother was a real big fan of all sports including college football and since my dad would bring home Street and Smith's Pro Football Guides as well as Who's Who baseball guides. Then my oldest brother taught me about the draft and how it works. Right then and we are talking late 60's I decided to dedicate myself to helping Sayers and Butkus get surrounded by players to help the team be better. When they traded a1st rd. pick for Howard Mudd an All Pro lineman from 49ers was the first time I reacted angrily to a Bears draft pick or lack thereof. Mike Hull, Lloyd Phillips, Lionel Antwoine,Bobby Douglass, Joe Morrison are all draft picks or trades from the desert of my early fandom of my team! Then they draft Payton and he became my football Messiah! That segment of my fandom ended extremely well... Fast forward to now and the same 6 year old is still in me and sometime you all my surrogate Bear family may need to every once in a while talk me off the ledge! Hi I'm Lemon I'm A Bear Fan!
  6. I for the most recent years would get pissed when I would see Forte and other backs in the league take themselves out of games after a long gain when earlier in my life while watching games the backs finished the deal, Howard is like these newer backs and when you watched them try and throw him a screen pass , it was not pretty. True he was not asked to do much in college but in most cases a back is what he is coming out of college, see Adrian Petersen. Are we truly satisfied with Howard's backups? Carey hasn't shown much and Langford regressed last year and I still like the idea of trying to convert him to a WR. I had my eyes on 2 backs for the Bears in this draft Alvin Kamara Tenn. and Kareem Hunt Toledo. Cohen is the same type of back just shorter. For those who are projecting him to the return game, he says he never did it but practiced it everyday. That doesn't sound like he has a leg up on Carey or Langford in that regard and what else is a FBS player supposed to say? Ilike what this pick says to 1 or both of the other 2 backs! You're on notice, bring it!
  7. He could have done what Russell Wilson did and transferred to another school(Wisconsin) when he got beat out at NC St. by Glennon.

    QB Comparison

Adam thumbs up you continue to keep it real!
  9. Great Post! My earlier comments were mine and I had to own them. I've come around to the thinking that Pace doesn't care what anyone thinks and I like that.

    WOW

When it comes to taking a defensive player we all would have been much more comfortable about that player being developed because of Fox and Fangio plus Donatell who all have respected track records in the league. The same cannot be said for Loggins and Ragone on offense.
  11. Exactly all the 2014 1st rounders had today as a dead line to pick up that 5th year.
  12. I'm confused because I thought we traded up last year for Floyd which now shows a pattern that Pace will go get his guy.
  13. Agree. Switching positions after playing a year or two always makes me nervous.

  15. The media speculation is mostly fueled by the thought that Fox at his current age needs to win now. The other things that help them are the fact that locally the SCORE employs Mike Mulligan, Hub Arkush and Brad Biggs all with ties to the Bears whether current or former. As for the Bears the national clips with Fox asking Pace if he called Trubisky and Fox saying Pace said no he's going to the stage and then Trubisky saying that he was surprised because he had little contact with the Bears since earlier in the process raises an eyebrow. The big wow statement came via the 9ers allegedly saying they thought the Bears were moving up for Thomas and some director of kissing Lynch's butt asked why did they pay Glennon? This is why there is so much media speculation because no one including local beat writers and talking heads had a clue what Pace was going to do. Kudos to Brad Biggs who had Trubisky going number 2 just to the wrong team.

    WOW

Yeah he is and once my middle aged wisdom kicked in I saw it! My problem like a few of us is that I sit at this keyboard and play scout/gm all season long and need to realize that my butt is not on the line.
  17. Do you truly believe that you should put all the trust in a guy that has only thrown 11 passes last year? I understand clearly your point but in reality it is a typical wait 'til next year mentality that Chicago Bears fans have embraced all to well. Since next years QB draft class was mentioned by you and there are no guarantees if Trubisky who came out early was one of the prospects you were considering in the fall at the position next year where would he be ranked? Then think we got him already and we just don't like the price that was paid.
  18. Pace's first chance to move on from Jay Cutler: Glennon in FA Resign Connor Shaw Sign Mark Sanchez Draft Trubisky That's 4 QBs he added to this roster. One is going to be gone unless Shaw can be put on the PS its him. So its Glennon(rumored to be upset , who cares did the check bounce and think Drew Brees when the Chargers drafted Philip Rivers) Sanchez the Dak Whisperer Trubisky who should start next year( 2018) no matter what I expect the rebuild to see offensive players in and out like the defenders last year and mostly at OL. TC should sort out WR,RB and TE. FB is going to be a wildcard.

    WOW

That helps bring back off the ledge since you put it in that perspective and at 57 you made me feel a little younger and less abused as a Bear fan!
  20. If Grasu is healthy the move is Whitehair to Sitton's OG spot and see if Sitton can play RT because this is going to probably be his last year with the team and play constant 2 TE sets and constantly chip whoever is the most dangerous edge rusher you face each week. Okay now really see if Grasu is better than Whitehair at center because Whitehair was named to the All Rookie team at the position. This last draft has rebuild in bold letters so competition should be the theme at every position.
  21. Wasn't McManis here before Pace came?
  22. You truly believe that is what happened at 2? A first year GM fleeced a 3rd year GM and if you don't believe that then you and I should agree to disagree on this point and save the back and forth.
  23. Didn't we give up a 3rd and 4th plus a 2018 3rd for Trubisky?
  24. Today you and I are in lock step! Cam Robinson! please be at 36!
  25. No body should understand/ agree with trading up 1 slot for any player.IMHO Pace got fleeced by a first draft GM.
