  1. The fact that this GM is restructuring the roster his own way is not shocking to me and players acquired by previous regimes being launched is not a shock either.I will take a wait and see approach starting with FA and then the draft.
  2. I say let the oft injured, cheater go and I once declared myself the president of his fan club when he was in college! Jeff Dickerson of AM1000 is saying that the Bears are not going to tag him which puts them in a position to outbid someone for their own player's services. That's not going to happen. He played 12 games and caught 2 TDs last year. Is that worth 17 plus million?
  3. Mocks Pre-Combine are mocking fans fantasies. Those of us who have watched college football all year know that this mock is just to generate comments on their site.
  4. Sources are reporting the Browns will release Josh McCown.
  5. You're trade frenzied draft's 3rd round would a heck of a haul!
  6. Thought I read somewhere that he was one of the best FA signings this past offseason in terms of value and production. 71 tackles from a d-lineman is awesome.
  7. Some of the defensive players he has released have had moderate success with Jones, Wilfork, Seymore and Ty Law off the top of my head but when it comes to QBs different story. Bledsoe, Cassell, Hoyer and Mallett didn't do much after NE and Bledsoe was replaced by an undrafted free agent named Tony Romo.
  8. If they are going to do that then base it on a fluctuating scale based on positions and sport because not all professional athletes should be grouped together because Golfers and Bowlers are professional athletes also. In the case of a football, lets use Tom Brady for an example a QB already pass 35 who has showed no signs of slowing down and gets injured in the SB if he played for the Bears and this legislation was passed he would sue and win because of how he is currently playing and the amount of money he could earn in the next couple of years as an athlete which he has indicated that he still plans on doing. I'm almost certain this isn't the first time this ownership has tried to get the attention of the state legislature. Back when Illinois didn't charge income tax to players from other teams and found out this was being done in other states, some of the owners of this states teams were trying with some of the player agents to see if they could avoid this but, instead got Illinois a new revenue flow and made it essential for all professional to fill state income tax returns in almost all the states they play their sport in.
  9. With a lot of the medical plans changing for companies because of doctors and hospitals getting out of some of the group medical plans because of The ACA. The one thing I have heard along those lines that there may be some lobbyists representing medical professional spearheading that legislation. There has been a big push in this state for years to put a cap on the amounts that can paid out as a result of work related injuries that shouldn't have anything to do with the McCaskeys.

    Senior Bowl

This is the year to add Secondary,TE and DL/ OLB help all draft but offensive players may get overvalued especially QB and OL.

    Senior Bowl

I agree 100% and almost wish he could be added to the mix here but there are too many needs to address before WR. What did you think about Bucknell OT Julien Davenport? His body type reminded me of D' Brickishaw Ferguson.

    Senior Bowl

His Combine showing will determine that. That is the kind of play making skills the Bears have lacked since Peanut, Briggs and Urlacher left.

  14. The QB/ WR or TE didn't work with Luck and Fleener off the top of my head.

    A 6'4" Safety?

I agree with you both on this player and think if you go this route he becomes that hybrid Safety/ LB player.

    QBs rising

Agreed hardcore fans should also realize that you get to keep 1st rounders under contract 5 yrs which helps your salary cap.
  17. Early 3rd Qtr looks like the clock has struck Midnight for Cinderodgers and her evil step packers!
  18. Jason I have recently said that I would prefer the Bears to take the BPA at 3 and trade back into the first and take one of the QB prospects whoever is the highest rated at wherever draft position they can get back in at. I like the idea of Kizer because I've heard rumors that Kizer's HC held him back and made him leave early. If this can't happen I'm coming around to a stud CB in round 2. After watching the East West Shrine Game I like this kid out of UCLA named Fabian Moreau 6-0 205. Some scouts have him rated mid round but both Daniel Jeremiah and Mike Mayock have him rated with a 2nd round grade and he looked the part. So BPA at 3 and attempt to trade back in to rd 1 for a QB. Plan B Allen at 3 and Moreau at 35-36?
  19. Currently rated as a 5-6 rounder Fabian Moreau of UCLA 6-0 205 is rising in scouts eyes
  20. Isn't that at the top of the list of things that is mentioned when you watch draft shows etc?
  21. Been talking with friends lately about what I think is a very confusing approach to QB evaluation by NFL scouts. Much emphasis is placed on taking snaps under center and playing in a pro-style offense. Then these prospect get to the NFL and are running read option up tempo shotgun formation offensive plays, which are staples in college offenses as well as multiple WRs and 1 back or empty backfield formations. So what's the big deal about QB prospects being under center? The majority of the center prospects have been making that long snap most of their college careers, so they too should be under the same scrutiny since they haven't had a QB's hands under their butt. I think the most important thing to evaluate is the mechanics( arm angle, footwork and poise in the pocket) and throwing ability( arm strength, accuracy and touch).
  22. My first declaration about the Bears drafting; at 3 take the top player on the board (I'm thinking Allen), trade back in to round 1 for the top QB give up your 2nd and a 3rd in 2018( I like Kizer here) on the board to have him under control longer with a first round contract(5 years). Your next pick has to be the top OT ( I like Temples Dion Dawkins here) on the board. Its hard to project any further without the compensatory picks figured out.
