    Mock Drafts

I hear you but, watching tape and listening to him during an interview on GMFB and I'm convince if he is at one of the second round picks ,Poles may go for him.

    Mock Drafts

One last try before the draft. 39. Christian Watson WR North Dakota State I may be dreaming that he is available here. 48. Perrion Winfrey DT3T Oklahoma I believe that the DT rotation is incomplete unless they expect Edwards Jr to move inside 71. Abraham Lucas OT Washington State We must keep adding bodies to the OT position 148. Velus Jones Jr. WR Tennessee The Bears need more weapons at WR 150. Demarri Mathis CB Pittsburgh A little late for a need but with this new scheme of Cover 2 he is a good fit 186. Leon Neal Jr S Texas A&M Depth pick at the Safety position
  3. What team is that ? He was let go by Seattle after his injury and the image of him flipping off someone is what I remember and he went through free agency IIRC

    Mock Drafts

My first Mock had us taking: Now I'm thinking: 39. Perrion Winfrey DT Oklahoma Tyler Smith OT Tulsa watched him on tape and think he has the nasty Poles is looking for. 48. Christian Watson WR North Dakota State Christian Watson North Dakota State I still like his upside 71.George Pickens WR Georgia George Pickens WR Georgia I think he will be fully recovered from his injury 148. Thayer Mumford OG Ohio State Thayer Mumford OG Ohio State we currently have Sam Mustipher lined up at ROG 150. Matt Hankins CB Iowa Matt Hankins CB Iowa Would loved to have picked a CB earlier but, I still like this choice here. 186. Rasheed Walker OT Penn State Rasheed Walker OT Penn State A staple of this franchise has been a late round OT pick. I'm lacking a 3 tech in this mock and I'm still believing they are looking to add some one.
  5. When Vic Fangio was named to John Fox's staff, I wondered what was coming. Now with Eberflus coaching the Cover 2 defense, I have the same questions! Who on this roster fits this scheme? Our new GM has made it clear that he is going to build this team in step with his coach. I love this and I'm willing to wait on the results

    Mock Drafts

I'm taking a swing at this with my 1.0 Mock No Trades 39. Perrion Winfrey DT Oklahoma I believe he will be the best value at that pick and he fits the 3 technique role 48 Christian Watson WR North Dakota State because its my 1.0 this may be a dream scenario but as a WR with size and speed he checks all the boxes as a good weapon for Fields 71 George Pickens WR Georgia His size makes him a replacement for A-Rob 148 Thayer Munford OG Ohio State One OG position is in question and developing is this team's new calling card 150 Matt Hankins CB Iowa Reverting back to a Cover 2 makes Hankins a good fir 186 Rasheed Walker OT Penn State No matter who the GM has been, taking a developmental OT has bee the norm with this franchise This is my first mock and I may have 1 more in me. Last year I had the Bears taking Tevin Jenkins at 20.
  7. They weren't better on the field last season.
  8. Jacksonville seems too obvious with him reuniting with Pederson to mentor Lawrence. Since The Raiders were in on Semien maybe Foles could be a possible target for them. With a 2- year contract Foles has to be on the move
  9. Agreed after the 3 previous GMs this is totally different and I actually welcome the change because most of us on this site do research on FAs and draft prospects. It's time delve deeper than before because this GM's playing Poker
  10. As a Bear fan for many decades, it's hard to recognize the current process going on! A GM trying to build a team carefully. With all the free movement going on Brian Poles has been controlled with everything he does. I OTOH am so used to the quick fix approach now that I forgot about how Jim Finks built the first playoff team since 63. That took about 3 years and he had the same focus of building through the trenches, like the current GM. So I have to remind myself to wait for the process.
  11. Well since Jax threw a bag of money at him, I swung and missed on that one.
  12. This is the first GM we have had in a while that truly plays poker!
  13. So my bad because I took it wrong ! Please forgive me we are Bear brothers and want the same thing!

    Mock Drafts

Have the compensatory picks been awarded ?
  15. Adam I never disagree with you but, today I do because we paid how many millions to Allen Robinson on a Franchise Tag? What did we get for that?So I ask You what is it worth to go after a real option like Christian Kirk?
  16. I believe that the focus of this regime is clearly on getting out of some of the bad defensive contracts. Did you read my post really? I stated that Faalele is not a fit for what the Bears are going to do. BTW I use a big board from a draft site as my projection , what do you use and again did you actually read my post? Tyler Smith OT, George Pickens And Christian Watson both WRs
  17. As far as the Bears moves so far I'm on board with it because this is the first time we have had a new GM and HC in lock step since the late 70's (Jim Finks and Neil Armstrong) Ditka and Vanisi were okay for 1 year but, since that time its been " Your're Hired But Keep The Coach( Except Wannstedt) . Now we have both tied together from the start and this 56 year Bear fan is understanding this process.
  18. I too am on the Faalele train but, Poles has been clear about OL with lean bodies and movement. At 6/8 and 385 , that doesn't fit what they are projecting so I'm looking at Tyler Smith OT out of Tulsa at 39, George Pickens WR at 48 and Christian Watson WR at 71
  19. Armstead is not worth the money because he is oft-injured
  20. I'm thinking Quinn may stick around because is actually a DE that fits the 4-3 but, if they can get more pick and cap savings. I'm in.
  21. The Bears should target guys like Rams' FA Joseph Noteboom
  22. I'm not educated enough on technique and footwork but, I can tell aggression when I see it and Jenkins is aggressive running to the sidelines and drawing a penalty protecting his QB from what he thought was an illegal hit. We loved Kyle Long and Olin Kreutz for that tenacity.
  23. Here in Chicagoland Sports Mockery is ridiculed because Erik Lambert writes most of the articles he posts based on secondhand unconfirmed information. He didn't get the Nagy fired after Thanksgiving game right and he was totally off on the GM and Head Coach hire. Just read the posts from SM for entertainment especially in the comments. Man I miss Jeff Dickerson(RIP)!
  24. Whenever I haven't posted for a while I tend to read all post before I respond. The Bears are switching to a Tampa 2 like 4-3. With the current players on our defense being acquired with a variation of the 3-4 defense being employed by our last 3 DCs, I realistically believe massive change is coming on the defensive side of the ball. Tonga, Goldman and Nichols are questionable to be on the roster. The Lovie Smith defense at its best featured Tommie Harris and Tank Johnson at DT. The LB were Urlacher in the MLB , Lance Briggs at WL and Hunter Hillenmeyer. DB's Vasher, Tillman, Harris and Manning. The DBs played primarily zone(Cover 2) and the MLB dropped in deep middle as well. I really think that some of the guys on this roster don't fit the HITS theme or the 4-3 with cover2 and 3 emphasis.
