It's clear to me that both Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy talk out of both sides of their mouths. The best QB in preseason was Fields, Andy Dalton is not Alex Smith who also had some mobility. I can see Aaron Donald ringing Dalton's bell and Fields being inserted in the 2nd Qtr with only scout team reps making Nagy look very stupid since this O-Line is still under construction and Dalton having been in concussion protocol last season will be at risk behind this patch work line. Leonard Floyd and Aaron Donald ought to be salivating right now.

The vibe here in Chicagoland has not been as frenzied as some of the media portrays but, the cohesiveness of the O-line is tantamount to the success of the offense and that can't happen without all players available. The number one concern is availability. This is eerily like the Chris Williams saga which eventually turned into disc surgery.

We should have signed Robinson to a long term deal

I read that Bears were at 16 also and it was mentioned that he is looking at what Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper got as his target. -
As a longtime Bear fan(circa 1966) I have seen 1st round draft picks traded for Qbs that didn't pan out, I've seen 2nd round picks flame out and I've seen a 6th round pick take the Bears to the playoffs. Jack Concannon, Rudy Bukich, Virgil Carter, Larry Rakestraw, Bobby Douglass, Gary Huff, John Huarte,, Bob Avellini, Vince Evans, Greg Landry, Vince Evans, Jim McMahon, Steve Fuller Mike Tomczac, Jim Harbaugh, Steve Walsh, Erik Kramer, Shane Matthews, Moses Moreno, Will Furrer, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Craig Krentzel ,Cade McNown, Jeff George, Jay Cutler And Mitch Trubisky Not to forget Mike Phipps, Rick Mirer, Kordell Stewart, Henry Tillman, Spergynn Winn Mark Casale ,Doug Flutie, Mike Glennon, Nick Foles and now Andy Dalton. I know I missed a few but it's close to bedtime for this overnight baker! I'm hoping the Bears don't screw it up this time!

The tradition and the nostalgia for me left when they design what looks like a space ship of a stadium and dropped it inside the iconic Soldier field columns. When ever I see film of the 85 Bears in action there is always a crowd shot of the columns. That was Soldier Field. With a seating capacity 61,500 there is no way they can make enough revenue to continue to compete with all the teams that continue to build state of the art stadiums. I say if they receive the bid that they buyout the city lease and move ASAP! The Bears will never get what they want from the City.

Any comments that we can make are speculative and we should wait and see what he has to say if/when he shows up until then what has khyris got?
-
Where does Brett Farve rank on the list , didn't he play 6+ with GB?
-
I get to see most of what Hoge writes on the My Teams app and this was a good piece and kinda speaks to how nervous Pace gets on draft day.
-
I called this one in my mock after I picked Jenkins at 20 I also think both Miller and Trevathan will be gone
-
The OT Prospects have dropped so 2nd round pick one!
-
The Panthers have traded QB Teddy Bridgewater to The Broncos for a 6th round pick(191)
-
Here's a what if: The Bears trade up for Slater.
-
Okay I see you don't think much of Mustipher who I have in the starting at center.
-
Okay Mongo where does Meinerz fit on this team? I see the interior as Daniels, Mustipher and Whitehair with Bars and Ifedi as depth especially if you take Jenkins with your first pick .He would be a backup on this team.
-
I agree with you. Parcells QBs were Phil Simms, Jeff Hofstetler, Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo(UDFA)
-
That savings can go to the draft picks. Did you see what I said about why he needs to be gone? He was getting exposed in coverage and it was happening repeatedly.
-
But when a team is on the clock the pressure is different. BTW what did Carolina pay to get Darnold?
-
Agreed and to be honest there may be more than Leno that falls on the June 1st cut list and what is acquired during the draft because Christian Jones was an under the radar signing and seeing Trevathan exposed in coverage repeatedly at the end of the season makes him and Miller cut candidates if they don't get moved at draft time and they pick up players at both those positions.
-
Two positions I had trouble finding good prospects at my picks without trying a couple of trades was WR and ILB. I have the feeling that they think that Ridley will step up because, he needs to. In a couple previous mocks I did I liked Amon -Ra St Brown but with me trading the 2nd rounder took me off that target because that is the round that the run will start at WR IMO.
-
Pace has had me totally fooled throughout his tenure, yet I still try to figure out his mindset. This is my last attempt before the draft. 20. Tevin Jenkins OT Oklahoma St. Hoping this puts Leno Jr. on the June 1st cut list 32. Pace trades back into the first round gives up 52 in 2021, 2nd in 2022 and Anthony Miller Kyle Trask QB Fla 83. Shaun Wade CB Ohio St. If his meds check out we have 2 young CBs for the future. 164. Alaric Jackson OT Iowa if Pace is in true job security mode another OT prospect for depth and starting potential is needed. 204. Jonathon Cooper Edge Ohio St. Robert Quinn consider yourself one and done 208. Tyree Gillespie Safety Missouri This is where Pace finds gems in the Secondary. 221. Kerry Yeboah TE Ole Miss This would not be a Pace draft or offseason without a TE addition. 228. Rachad Wildgoose CB Wisconsin The typical late round special teammer. This is my attempt at trying to figure out what Pace would do and I know I don't have a clue but he keeps us talking!
-
I still think that trading back in to the first round to draft a QB may be a route Pace chooses and still secure a 5th year option.
-
Kyle Trask at 52 but, I got a feeling Pace will trade back into the 1st to get the 5 year contract on a QB
-
Jason I was with you on Dak and we both had him mocked before he actually went.
-
Pace hasn't traded back in the first round yet.
