  1. I can easily see this thing blowing up on Detroit. I mean, really blowing up. Not this year but maybe after next. I think the Lions are finished this year. I don't even think they'll make the playoffs. I think they could go 9-7 and after the start they had, there is really only one guy you look to and that's Schwartz. He has absolutely no control over this team. Suh's incident is reminiscent of Haynesworths stomping incident while Schwartz was with Tenn. This Suh situation would not be tolerated by ANY NFL coach worth his salt. My guess now is the league will stop the fines as they mean very little to a mouthbreather like Suh. They will start sittting him and sooner or later neven if that dumbass Schwartz won't do anything, the Lion's Executives will. When they start seeing their defensive star not being capable of controlling himself and losing a few games each year then seeing how it affects the rest of the team, they are going to figure out that you cannot pay a guy what they are paying Suh to sit fo 3-4 games a year because of bad behavior and when they figure out that they have a HC who can't remedy the situation, Schwartz is gone. I don't know what alternate universe Suh is living in where he thinks people will tolerate this shit but sooner or later if the league won't do anything about it, some of the players might. When people start chop blocking him in hopes of putting him out or inciting his temper OR opposing defenses start treating his QB an o linemen like he does, he will have a choice, change or get gone.
  2. I think we're going to go 11-5. I think we lose to oakland, we beat KC, Den and Seattle, we lose to GB and we beat minn. I think NYG might be in big trouble maybe losing 3 more. Atlanta could lose 2 more. I think Detroit could lose 3 more maybe 4 as they play GB twice and NO as well as a pissed off San Diego team. who cares what anyone else does. We're in.
  3. Yeah, Tillman stunk in coverage today and to make matters worse, Conte looked every bit like the rookie he is. I disagree that it was the zone based defense that got them. For Tillman, alot of it was the man coverage. If I was to blame it on the zone, it would be that it was too deep which Smith is prone to doing quite often.
  4. Probably the most valid point regarding Martz to date. And why the hell isn't Cutler rolling out more? This offensive line was OVERMATCHED against Detroit just like 99.5% of the world knew it would be and Martz did nothing to make Cutler a more dangerous weapon. Keeping Cutler mobile plays to his strength. Confining him in a pocket only exposes him and Martz should have figured that out by now. He keeps trying to prove his way is the right way. Mike Martz biggest problem is that he once caught lightening in a bottle with the Rams. Jupiter aligned with Mars to create Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk and Torry Holt, not to mention help from Ricky Proehl. He thinks his playcalling was what made them what they were. You want to look for the reason the Rams fizzled out, I bet you'll find Maike Martz right in the thick of it. He just doesn't seem to get that HE is his own worst enemy. People are showing him the way and he keeps trying to prove them wrong. His gameplan against Philly was perfect. Too bad he probably had to be threatened to put it together. He is the posterchild for inconsistency. He's got a QB with a stronger arm, more intelligence and who is a much better athlete than Warner was and he is wasting him. I also believe if he had opened his mouth about the NEED for WRs that we might actually have a playmaker or two but no, he was out to prove he could do more with less. Not a very bright gamble. He could be an offensive genius but he keeps shooting himself in the foot. He is NEVER EVER EVER going to be a HC again. He is not capable of managing that many phases of the game but he could be the greatest OC the game has ever seen if he'd just get out of his own way.

    After 3 Games

This team is owned by incompetents. Anyone who would argue otherwise has simply has been living in a cave. That doesn't mean they haven't made some decent moves. The incompetence comes in the form of who they've entrusted this organization to. Ted Phillips, Jerry Angelo for starters. We'll get to Lovie in another thread. This one belongs to Angelo. The incompetence of handing over the reigns to Phillips and Angelo was compounded by ignoring that THEY had become the problem. Failed draft after failed draft. Bringing in a thoroughbred QB and surrounding him with garbage. Angelo's INSANE belief that the QB will make everyone around them better therefore don't worry about building a line to protect him and giving him competent WRs who can actually run good routes, get open and catch the ball consistently. Even on defense, going to the bargain basement looking for safteties because the ones you drafted aren't cutting it. We passed on Palomalu and ended up with Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman. Meanwhile we all know how Palomalu fared. Had Mugsy Halas lived, perhaps things would have been different. Maybe they wouldn't have. He was afterall his father's son but let's all remember that it was Mugsy who brought in Finks to be GM who had the best draft in Bears history I believe in 83 when he got Covert, Gault, Bortz, Thayer, Dent, Duerson, Richadrson. Let's also remember that it has been only in recent years that the McCaskey's spent that money. It's not like they opened the checkbook to build the 85 team. That team was built through the draft. I commend George Halas for getting back to letting a GM run the org. I fault Mike McCaskey for singleheadedly dismantling a legendary team that won a SB in 85 and I disdain his idiot mother for allowing him, against her fathers wishes, to run the team. That said, the incompetence of allowing Angelo and Phillips to stay is simply beyond understanding given the epic draft failings and bad FA acquisitions. Every other organization in football understands that the olds days of great defense and workable offense wins championships is dead. Offenses today are prolific and must be cultivated. You don't stumble upon them. In closing, The McCaskeys can be the biggest idiots in the world but they don't have to make matters worse by employing the likes of Phillips and Angelo. Phillips has fulfilled his destiny anyway. Once he got the stadium deal, he should have been given his golden parachute and a thank-you and been sent on his way for a REAL football maven.
  7. Cannot disagree with a single statement. I would launch both of those ass clowns TODAY!
  8. Randy Moss has been looking at coming back. Jerry Angelo should be sending a private jet to bring him in here RIGHT NOW! There is absolutely NO downside to bringing him in. NONE! He is better on his worst day than anything this organization has EVER seen period. Angelo, get off you dead, lazy, stupid ass and get him signed. If you don't do something BOLD NOW, you are going to lose not only Forte, but Cutler as well. You watch, very shortly if this offense doesn't improve, we're going to hear Cutler's Agent chirping about a trade. And who in the hell could blame him?
  9. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...-in-randy-moss/ Cowboys not interested in Randy Moss Posted by Josh Alper on September 26, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT Reuters Adam Schefter of ESPN created a little bit of buzz Sunday with a tweet about a possible comeback for Randy Moss. “Randy Moss open to returning to winning team, with seasoned QB, proper comp. Pats, Eagles, NYJ, NYG, Cowboys, Bears could interest him.” It looks like you can cross the Cowboys, the team Moss loved to play against above all others, off that list. Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com spoke to multiple sources who said that the Cowboys had no interest in signing Moss. That fits with the Cowboys’ season-long approach to the wide receiver position where they made a decision early to go with Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and younger players filling the other spots. Perhaps something would change if Austin or Bryant was lost for a long time, but, at present, there’s no deviation from the Cowboys. Moss and the Cowboys will always be linked because they passed on Moss with the eighth overall pick in 1998 when Moss thought he was heading to Dallas. They took Greg Ellis instead and Moss spent most of his career making them regret that decision. In seven games against the Cowboys, Moss picked up 35 catches for 662 yards and 10 touchdowns. The first of those games came in Moss’ rookie year when he caught three balls for 163 yards and three touchdowns in a 46-36 Vikings win. As for the other teams, it is easy to understand why Moss would want to join them. There’s no sign that anyone feels differently than the Cowboys, although an injury could always change a team’s thought process.
  10. I know exactly why. He doesn't wanna be anywhere near Cutler when he comes off the field after getting his ass handed to him. He also doesn't want to be close enough to hear Cutler getting his ass handed to him.
  11. Sorry but I'm just a hard ass about this. I would tell Martz that one more stinker like last Sunday and he's gone. End of discussion. Why would we even keep him? If he can't do any better than that, we're better off without him. Tice is no dummy. He was brought up in the Coryell system, he would be capable of taking over. It would be silly to continue to let Martz risk the life of our franchise QB. Just plain silly.
  12. Here's the problem, by the time you do get panicky, it's too late.
  13. This guy might be an offensive genius but it won't matter if he continues to call games like this game and the one last week. The 7 pts that Atlanta got was from Cutler dropping back, getting the ball tipped and intercepted. Okay, that happens...NOT TO GOOD OCs it doesn't. We never should have been throwing at that point. We needed to run out the clock. 10 running plays against N.O.? And Forte had a 30 yd run early? WTF is this bunghole thinking? Look, this team has enough strikes against it, we don't need some dumbass calling games who is just out of touch with reality. The WRs this team has chosen to go to battle with just plain stink. Oh yeah, Sanzenwhoeverthehellheis may have looked intriguing in preseason but this is the big boy league and that crucial third down drop just confirmed, he ain't ready. An NFL WR simply CANNOT drop that ball. Develop him on the PS. Back to Martz, He simply is trying to operate an offense predicated on perfect timing and performance and fails to realize that WE DON'T HAVE EITHER. He needs to put down the mad professor cap and simply take what a defense gives him and stop wasting opportunities to grind out some clock time. This defense did NOT get handled last week. They went to one of the worst places in the NFL to play. Were keeping NO down but were simply not getting an ounce of help from this collective pile of shit we call an offense. It's the same thing year in and year out. We'll get to firing Angelo for this incompetent talent at O line and WR at a later date and in another thread but for now, we have a RB who can play 20 runs and 5-7 paases per game and he will help us improve. But for now, fire Martz, let Tice run the offense and start using Cutler's talents. It does not need to take 2-3 yrs to learn a system. If it does, that system is too difficult or the players aren't smart enough. Eiether way, this offense is simply lost. They have no direction and very little guidance. Martz has shown that he has the ability to dial it down but the idiot in him keeps resurfacing. Tice can handle the offense and I'll even bet he could find a way to get Cutler outside the pocket where he could really do some damage. But to have an offense that is predicated on 5-7 yd drops when you know your o line can't keep anyone out, is simply a waste of effort. The Bears offense always seem to suffer from terminal uniqueness. For whatever reason, every other offense in the league can figure out a way to block, pass, run and catch adequately enough that they aren't the weekly objects of media bashing but not ours. Week in, week out, we just seem to stink. Sure, there are a few exceptions...Way too few.
  14. I thought it was funny as hell. That and the fact that I think he's an Idiot pretty much sums it up for me.
  15. If he was picked up by the Packers, the media would be saying what an incredible move it was and how shrewd their front office is and THIS is why they are world champions. Frankly, I don't care if this guy kills baby seals in his spare time as long as he plays well.
  16. Maybe you can't blame him. Put it this way, maybe you WON'T blame him but I will. Anyone who makes that much money should have no money problems whether he has 2 or 10 kids. He may be a professional athlete but THIS is still the real world and he resides in it. I blame him because he knows he is hurting this team by acting like a petulant little prick. He signed a contract so far that has yielded him something like 5.2M each year for the last 3 years. Now that the amount is decreasing, he has an issue. He signed the contract now it's time to honor it. I don't know what so be it means here but the only so be it I see in this equation is honor your contract Briggs. Period. He did great things for the Bears. The Bears have done great things for Briggs. So what. I wouldn't take a second for him either. I would take a player or players who are proven. No sense in letting Angelo waste another draft pick. Surely there are teams out there that need a WLB. If not, well then, Briggs knows what he's really worth.
  17. I would just tell Briggs "Lance, this is your year to shine like you have never shined before. We will NOT redo your contract. But we will trade you next year provided we can get good value. So here's the deal, play your ass off and make it count. Help us help you. Obviously, making a big deal about this in the media and going into the tank isn't going to help you one bit so you play nice and we'll play nice.
  18. Hester should just stick to returning punts, once in awhile catching a pass and leave the player signing to the people that get paid to do it. Figures he would want Moss. Not much competition there. If we're going to go out and sign midgets, I'd rather sign one that's really been there and done that in Steve Smith. Personally, I think he' s an asshole but he's probably better than anything we have on the roster. I'd also look at Rice, the Moss that can see over the windshield, as in Randy. Hell, I'd even take a strong look at Mike Williams. Just about anybody before Midget Moss. Cutler needs some real targets to throw at.
  19. Hey pal, I didn't call you a name. I just said you are delusional ANY YOU ARE if you think Smith and Angelo aren't to blame for this mess. AND HELL YES I rant. Just like every other poster on here. You gonna tell me you don't? One more thing, the reason these guys fumble, miss tackles and blocks is because our genius HC doesn't believe in practicing those stupid fundamentals. I know how much these guys get paid but when you do not practice the fundamental elements of the game you are going to pay for it, just like this team has been doing since , well, you know when. (Hint: The last year Rivera was here). Face it, Lovie Smith is a boneheaded yokel whose probably a great guy but he sucks as a HC in the NFL. Hell, at this point, I doubt he could even be a decent DC.
  20. Good God, you are absolutely delusional. A monkey could do a better job at HC than the dumb ass sitting in the seat now. You don't think this collection of garbage we call call an offensive line is Angelo's fault? 3 plays from the 2 ft line and we can't score? TNEN, our fearless leader goes for it on 4th down? Yeah, the players screwed up. Aromashodu should NEVER EVER EVER ask about any lack of playing time after dropping a sure TD. Same thing with Olsen and his fumbles. But, what the hell was Bowman doing alone against the most dangerous receiver in our division at the most crucial time of the game? How did we allow the Lions to march down the field at the end? ALL falls at the feet of Lovie Smith. If there is a God, and I believe there is, this SOB will be gone at seasons end because from the looks of it, THIS team will not win more than 6 games this year. One other thing. I'll never mention 1985 again and you never mention 2006 again. Neither means a damned thing today.
  21. Put Pisa in the middle, Briggs and Roach on the outside. Don't tell me that scares you. There's NOTHING special about our MLB position that Pisa couldn't handle. Don't say he's brittle because Urlacher is just as brittle. I don't buy the line we can't get a second for Urlacher. Money or no money, I would still bet we could at least get a second. Harris and Hester could each easily net us a 2 or 3. I'm betting a 2 for Harris and a 3 for Hester. Hester's contract is laced with incentives. THAT is the only way he makes WR money. Olsen would be more coveted outside of Chicago and has gotten great press, I have no doubt we'd get a 2. Harris' contract is not back breaking either. Urlacher WAS untradable. He's not anymore. He hasn't been a force in a couple yrs. This system has seen to that. I believe he would jump at the chance to be in a system more friendly to him, (even to the point of reworking his contract) maybe as the finishing touch to a defense needing a LB.
  22. Surely Greg Olsen will get us a serviceable CB or safety or o lineman. Come on, we aren't gonna use him anyway so why not. Hell, let me put together a list of all tradeble players Urlacher Tillman Olsen Harris Wolfe Hester Those guy can surely get us some picks. Of course, we will need a GM worth a crap to make the deals and evaluate the talent but we do have some tradeable guys here. There alot of teams looking for help. Us being one of them but our help needs to come in the form of a new regime and these players can help somebody TODAY without putting such an incredible burden on us so we can maximize what we get for them. I'll bet there are 4-5 second rd picks right there.
  23. This is the same lame ass secondary that has been doing us in for 2-3 years now. They couldn't play tight coverage if their lives depended on it. THEY will be the biggest contributor to our shortcomings. I also expected alot more from the d line but as usual, they aren't blitzing much if at all and we will have to wait till the regular season opener to make the declarations but I am not real optimistic. This secondary is making me nauseous though. Slow, weak and ineffective is about all that can be said for them so far. Manning looked decent the other night but Harris sucked, As for our corners, there isn't one of them I would like to keep.
  24. Well, the good news is, after we get our asses torched by GB, Mn and maybe even Det and the schedule we play this year, we will finally be able to get rid of Smith and Angelo. Angelo's little proclaimation about the pieces being in place have secured his demise along with that goofball we call a HC.
