Writen by Biggs at Suntimes: Defensive backs (10): Charles Tillman, Zack Bowman, Danieal Manning, Kevin Payne, Nathan Vasher, D.J. Moore, Corey Graham, Rod Hood, Al Afalava, Craig Steltz. Hood is no guarantee to make the roster, but he will be an upgrade over Trumaine McBride. Steltz has taken quite a dip since the offseason program ended, but he can help out on special teams and will know where to line up if needed in a pinch. Cornerback Woodny Turenne did not play last week at Denver, and that might be because the Bears want him to fly under the radar, right onto their practice squad.

My hope Rideau , But I know its going to be Davis

I agree with all you said Freeman goes to PS and will pass waivers he has shown nothing so far.

Tells a huge story. I heard others speak about mangini and his ways. Says something. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...hood-01.article

Think Kinder will be signed to PS http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6068

Dusty gone surprises me but dont.

I have been watching Bears games for 46 years. The last few years the Press conferences I have watched or read with Lovie were always like watching a valium commercial. But this preseason has been quite different. It appears to me Lovie has taken turn since taking the Defensive play calling. His demeanor has changed, He actually looks to be exited, (at least for Lovie Smith). It also seems that the answers to the question he is asked by reporters are a heap more involved answers and not the same ole "its a process" or "we shall over come" talk. He actually appears to be opening up a bit more and its really nice to see. I dont know if you guys noticed it but I thought I would bring it up.

For as big as Rideau is you think he would be more physical, But he is really trying to finess his on the roster, DA Plays physical.

Cutler rating is 106.1, still better then anything I seen in consecutive weeks.

Well, maybe Dusty isn't quite finished just yet ....
GrizzlyBear replied to BigDaddy's topic in Bearstalk
Adams response in the Video was classic of Team empathy. You can tell he was beside himself with news. But If Dusty has just a sprain, then all is good. -
Agreed cut bait and move on. I like him alot, You dont come accross a motor like his often, But duribility is a requirement in the NFL.

Looking at some players that will make the PS this year I figure 2 to be a shoe in is Kinder and Knox. He showed flashes but Igeslias have shown more. So I figure the Bears will keep Rideau, DA, Hester, Bennet igeslias and Davis. But that only if Davis sticks, If released , look for Knox to make the roster. Any thoughts?

I agree with all that was said except for Safeties. Payne did well and Afalava did real well. His run support was outstanding, he was on almost every tackle in the first quarter. That kid just sticks in head in wherever that ball carrier is. I was really impressed with his position play. He will start with Payne. If he does not then I will truly at the talent eval going on, Manning is not the answer.

So far I am really impressed with the improvement. The line play on both sides of ball was real good, considering that NY has one of the best lines on both sides of ball in the NFL. Domination is the word to use while the first string was in.

Absolutely amazing what a real QB can do for a team.

This statement came from the suntimes. When I read this it did not seem to me it was a throw under the bus statement. But then it would nt be Chicago if there was not some type of QB Controversy .
-
More thank God man. I sure as heck did not want him here.

Well watch the interview on CBTV, He appeared really frustrated and when asked about the trust in trainers he was not convincing. Iam of the mind set if it was up to him he would be out there, but the overly cautious bears staff have him just in the weight room. Body language in the interview was to say the least frustrated.

I think Hester will pan out as a Bears Number one like Faulk stated on the network. More like a Willie Gault style. But I think a real Noteworthy person to talk about is Rideau. I think his time has finaly come to stick and be the true number 3 reciever. His entire body of work so far has been outstanding. I feel he may push Davis right out on the street. Kinder will likely take his place on the PS. Hester, Bennet and Rideau would make a tall physical bunch with Iglesias and knox rounding up the recievers, That is unless we keep 6 then Davis will stay.

. I think its fitting for vikes at this point.

Boras talks about Gaines addition on Chicagobears.com What have been your impressions of free-agent addition Michael Gaines? I’ve been impressed with Michael since he’s gotten here. He’s tried to learn the offense as quickly as he can. He gives us some versatility as well because he can line up as a fullback for us as well as an inline blocker. He just has that mass. He’s got size to him. He’s probably the heaviest tight end we have. He could be both an inline blocker as well as a fullback for us.

Well when camp hits there will be competition on the right side I am sure. , Kevin Shaffer will push Williams and Buenning will push Garza, At least I hope. The result is that the Bears have significantly upgraded thier talent in the O line and something we have not seen since the 80's. I know Thayer is totaly Geeked over the upgrades and thinks if they Gel like expected it will be a awsome year for the line. Even with injury it appears we have enough talent now to weather any storm.
