  1. Yes but please read why the bears signed him, He was brought in to play Guard, but St Clair departure had him move outside till Williams could be evaled at Right tackle. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=5665
  2. Sorry disagree on the guard. Omiyale, Frank was signed to play guard, Buenning is a solid guard especially next to 2 pro bowlers. Beekman did well last year, a bunch better then expected and gives good depth. Pace - T Bueninng-G Kruetz-C Omiyale-G Williams-T Not bad at all with Beekman to swing either guard or center and Garza as back up there as well. Reed is there as well. the Problem I see is more at the Tackle position with Schaffer being the only true back up we have.
  3. 4.75 is fater then FB i seen in the combine. Stick him back there, You know he has hands for pass recieveing and with that type of speed can easily lead sweeps for Forte from the backfield. Let alone the fact straight up the gut.
  4. The Bears on Monday signed the following undrafted free agents: UNLV guard Johan Asiata, Hampton guard Dennis Conley, Connecticut safety Dahna Deleston, Louisiana-Lafayette running back Tyrell Fenroy, Rutgers linebacker Kevin Malast, Northwesterm wide receiver Eric Peterman, Kansas linebacker Mike Rivera, California fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou and Louisville defensive back Woodny Turenne. per chicagobears.com
  5. God I hope not, make him a Full time Fullback
  6. more sense to move Vasher to FS and leave payne at SS. Keep tillman at CB with Mcbride and stick the kid at Nickel, he is a ball hawk. Anything will be better then manning at the position. At least a very good upgrade. Manning and Hester and Knox on KR " Which way did he go, Which way did he go?"
  7. either way that is insane, he entered the draft as a guard, at least he is labled as that on NFL.com. If He did run a 4.68 at that weight I would stick him as a fullback, why waist speed and hands on guard play.
  8. Dont think so, His pro day at Pitt was monster, Bears saw him and when scouting there. Knee seems to be fine. Would not doubt if he makes the team out right.
  9. Per NFL.com Overview Afalava for more than three seasons at strong safety for the Beavers, taking over during his true freshman season. He managed only 36 tackles in 2008 (after making 64 as a junior), but showed some ability in coverage with two interceptions and eight pass break-ups. His reputation as a hammer in the secondary earned him honorable mention All-Pac-10 each of the past two years. Afalava's linebacker size and mentality makes him a perfect in-the-box safety and special teams contributor at the next level. High School Afalava was a two-star athlete by Scout.com and rated the second-best defensive back on the Islands by the recruiting service...Rivals.com two-sport athlete...first-team all-state on defense...led Kahuku to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the semifinals of the state playoffs in 2004...the team was ranked No. 14 in the West and won the Oahu Interscholastic Association...scored in a 2004 state quarterfinal game by recovering a fumble in the end zone...helped Kahuku to the state title and a 14-0 record as a junior...played in the state's Goodwill Football Classic All-Star game...made 100 tackles, including 20 for loss and nine quarterback sacks, and eight interceptions in '04...SuperPrep Magazine All-Region team member.
  10. My bad. found the report Injury Report 2005: Missed the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury vs. Miami (Ohio) in the season opener (9/03), as he developed staph infection that prevented him from returning to the field. 2007: Underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after the season to repair a meniscus tear. 2008: Hampered during parts of the season with a recurring ankle sprain.
  11. Talent outways injuries, only had issues through senior year from what I have seen, It was to good a value to pass up.
  12. "Overview Teaming with middle linebacker James Laurinaitis, Freeman helped lead a defensive unit that has ranked among the nation's elite ever since he moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore. In his three years in the lineup, the Buckeyes have ranked fifth in scoring defense in 2006 (12.77 ppg), led the nation in total defense (233.0 ypg) and scoring defense (12.77 ppg) in 2007 and gave up just 293.77 yards per game while placing sixth nationally in scoring defense (13.92 ppg) during his senior campaign. While Freeman may not have garnered the national attention afforded Laurinaitis and cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, the OSU coaching staff regarded Freeman as its most important defensive player. He not only brought classic tackle technique, quickness, power and intelligence to the field, but he was also one of the most versatile linebackers in the country. During his career, Freeman has performed at all three linebacker positions, having also started on the strong side as a sophomore before establishing himself as the premier weak-side linebacker in the Big Ten Conference during his final two campaigns. Freeman was rated as one of the top three overall prospects in Ohio as a senior at Wayne High School, earning Parade All-American honors as a senior. The four-year starter was also a two-time All-Ohio first-team selection. As a senior, he recorded 127 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He also totaled 152 tackles, including 29 behind the line of scrimmage, and eight sacks as a junior. In addition to lettering in football, he competed in the 4x100-meter relay and threw the shot and discus for the school's track team. Freeman was the top recruit in Ohio State's 2004 class. He appeared mostly on special teams as a true freshman, posting four tackles (one solo). He was scheduled to be the top reserve at outside linebacker in 2005, but in the season opener vs. Miami (Ohio) he suffered a knee injury that would sideline him for the year, earning a medical hardship. In 2006, Freeman replaced a departed Bobby Carpenter at strong-side outside linebacker, starting 11 of the 13 games he played in. He finished tied for second on the team with 71 tackles (34 solos), adding one sack and 2.5 stops for loss. He intercepted a pair of passes and deflected six others. Looking to free up their fastest linebacker, Freeman shifted to the weak side upon the graduation of Larry Grant. He earned second-team All-Big Ten Conference honors in 2007, also picking up Academic All-Big Ten accolades. He registered a career-high 109 tackles (66 solos), second on a team that led the nation in total defense and scoring defense. His 9.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage and two forced fumbles saw the Buckeyes finish third in rush defense (82.85 ypg). Freeman was again named Academic All-Big Ten Conference and second-team All-Big Ten as a senior. He placed second on the team with 84 tackles (39 solos) while starting all 13 games from weak-side linebacker. He broke up four passes and recovered a fumble while also coming up with 3.5 sacks and 9.5 stops for loss." NFL Bio shows mucho potential.
  13. Great Pick, a replacement for berrian finally. Will allow Hester to go back to KR/PR . See him in slot right now. Will start soon.
  14. Wow what a day!!! Cutler and Pace. I thought I would never see this. But glad I was around to see it. Iam looking forward to seeing how much Williams picks up from Pace. The line upgrade is huge.
  15. I think Buenning will be starting this year, He came in late last year and really did not know the scheme. He may win out in camp. What I would like to see is this: St Clair- Omiyale- Kruetz-Buenning- Williams (Beekman as back up guard with 2 and 3 RD draft picks.)
  16. Been there , done that, got the t shirt. No thanks.
  17. I would go Oher for sure, His footwork was evident in todays drills.
  18. The statement that set it it all up was his stand up at the weight lift, Everyone that does not lift has to give a reason why they are not to the coaches and the other players, during his stand up he stated he was just not ready physicaly to do the lifting. He took a bunch of heat over that, I guess honesty gets no points at the combine, Billick and Mayock really threw him under the bus with comments like (paraphrase) "You never tell them that , Make someting up but never tell them your not ready". Really makes it look petty in my eyes.
  19. Peresonaly I think Sanchez will be there, but for the reasons already stated. Idiotic? Only idiot is the one who said it was idiotic. Take Oher and lets move on.
  20. Reed=practice squad Reed will be camp drop imo , but may make backup Beekman=starter Remains starter Garza=starter Relegated to the 2nd string Balogh=practice squad PS again is we can Buenning=starter in Tampa Starter at RG Metcalf=starter before Experiment over, gone St. Clair=played there beforeStarter Right tackle
  21. Thanks for your professional insite, I your Opinion is what counts, huh, One game does not make a player I went by seasons stats, So I would say a season makes a player not one game.
