  1. Odd thing is, I think #21 is Leslie Frazier and he wasn't on the roster in 86. It sure looks like him too so unless they had a different #21 on the roster in 86, they must've had him in camp after he tore his knee up in SB XX and then cut him after this photo was taken.
  2. Note that Todd Bell (#25) and Al Harris (#90) are in this photo so this isn't the Superbowl Team. The link to BearsHistory.com suggests this is 86 but I thought only one of those two came back after the Superbowl. I'm probably just forgetting. They were both on the 84 team but Butthead and Fridge weren't. I can name almost all of these players! I'm 48.
  3. Yep, and he was an extreme ass-kisser when they were paying him. So his character has always been an issue. With that said, he has a good football mind when he's not on the fringes. Funny thing about these "experts" is nobody seems to hold them accountable after the fact. Oh, and I'll take Mayock's opinion/valuation of the pick over Hub, regardless. "He's one of my favorite players in the draft. He's immediately a starting guard that down the road is a starting tackle." -- Mike Mayock

It's bullshit he was even flagged for that hit. THIS IS FOOTBALL!
  5. Frankly this isn't Bears-related anymore since the team has already said they weren't interested. This should be relegated to a non-bears location on the board. FWIW, I personally think Tebow is a sanctimonious poseur that some will defend tooth and nail because he talks their language politically or religiously or whatever. I'd prefer a good old fashioned self-serving guy like Terrell Owens over this douche any day of the week. And I'd prefer a swift kick in the balls over either!
  6. Hey. at least he's checking the right boxes when he sends in the paperwork. So far.
  7. Amen, brother. And our nerdly Canadian coach should be able to phone up someone in the great white north who can throw the damn ball! He should be able to find someone there with the talent to outdo either Tebow or McCown.
  8. I'm no fan of Tebow but this is just ferkin' ignorant. There's no reason to embarrass him like this.
  9. Good point. Generally speaking, drafts need three years to be judged but you can get a solid idea sometimes much earlier. Hell, there was a Wanny draft where every player selected was gone by the third year, I think. Injuries last year make it hard to judge but thus far I'm not sold on Emery's drafting skills. I like many of the picks this year and understand why we took Long when we did. I think he'll pan out. This draft might salvage Emery in my eyes. Getting something out of our 2012 class might also do that. We'll see. I certainly hope for great things.
  10. I'm not cranking on his faith, just the fact that he feels the need to put it on display every 5 seconds. I'm fairly convinced there's a God but I'm pretty sure he doesn't give a shit about some sorry-ass QB and/or the results of a football game. Some things are meant to be kept private and personal.
  11. I'm sure Jesus will find him a QB'ing job in the NFL. All that bullshit he does on the field better be good for something.

    Best drafts

Eh, Denny Green would've called that a "Bonus Pick" anyway.

Viking? Three first round pick ain't nothing to sneeze at.
  14. If the other positions of need are dried up, I'd certainly go BPA. If that's QB, so be it!
  15. I think we go DT but have no clue who. I think since we'll probably go DT, 15 of them will be picked before the Bears get a shot at one. Panic pick #2?
  16. It could be a lot of fun. Or a catastrophe.
  17. Terra is a shrill one but frankly I don't think anyone expects the D to be as good this year. After years of guys on this board ripping on The Lovie 2, we're going to find out what happens next. And obviously you don't replace a Brian Urlacher and expect stellar results. Just look at the difference with/without #54 in the lineup over the last few years. Peanut's a year older, so is Briggs. Secondary ain't great, regardless. I wouldn't be surprised if the D slipped into the bottom half statistically this year. So TT, despite never watching a game, may have a point.
  18. Obvious for years now. (And with that gem I hit 1,000 posts!)
  19. It was a panic pick but it'll work out. Definitely a reach at 20.
  20. Dude! I used to have buddies over, grill, drink, rifle through Kiper's book with every pick, watch ESPN, all the while giving each other shit about our respective team's picks. We could make it a 10 hour party! This prime time "event" sucks. I mean, I'll watch it, but it isn't nearly as fan friendly as it was when they held this over the weekend.
  21. The chart is complete horse shit.
  22. I'm in agreement with Pioli here, the Bears made a fair offer, Urlacher and his people tried to embarrass the team into doing more and in the end, he's got to be regretting the way he tarnished his reputation by going out this way. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...cher-situation/
  23. Emery's draft last year, quite frankly, is suspect. I'm not a Te'o hater like some here but Emery damn well better be right if he makes this pick. Two years in a row with failures in the first round is starting to sound all too familiar.
