You know what always gets me about guys like Terra, and he isn't the only one... They actually root against guys they "called" during the draft to build themselves up ragardless of what's best for the team. He'd rather see this guy suck so he could pat himself on the back then see him round into form as the season approaches and kick ass on Sundays this year. Obviously the latest news is very good and Terra disappears. I think a little Full Metal Jacket is needed here...

Details here: http://bigstory.ap.org/NFL-Pro32 I suppose this is about right. Until the O Line proves itself, we shouldn't be cracking anyone's top 10.

That does it. Basically it wipes the old deal off the books.

If the Bears strike a deal with Forte, does the tag money go back into the pool? I know they'd be using it on him, mostly. Just wondering how we can continue to hear discussion about doing a deal with him when there's only $3 mil left.

Good news. Let's hope he keeps his nose clean. With his history and medical issues, that's a stretch. I'm not holding my breath.

OK sniffles, just trying to help you out. No need to get all...
-
You sure got that right! Now just say "Uncle" and STFU.

Lovie talks someone like this up every year and pretty much every year it turns out to be a kid who gets cut during the first round of cuts. With that said, if Kiper liked him that much I'll consider him more viable until I actually see the kid perform.

OT: Explain your username and how you became a Bears fan

Same here. But I'll admit I guessed on most of the questions and just got lucky. -
Cutler has the potential to be a great QB. Period. I couldn't care less if this photographer thinks his being flipped the bird is classy or not. It isn't. But being faced with these jerks 24/7 has to get to you. Sean Penn, an otherwise pretty great guy, went after one of these paprazzi. They say and do things to get a rise out of the celebrities, they don't just follow them silently (which would be annoying enough.) Cutler isn't doing drugs, involved in shootings, etc. He flipped an asshole the bird. Big deal!

I agree. (I can almost sense Jason is about to bring up TO again...)

I agree. And I don't have too many posts here but I was loud mouth, to my recollection, on BearsTalk.com. I guess I've just mellowed with age. Like moldy cheese. -
I'm not in love with the idea of Tice not being in there with the line 100% of the time. He did a masterful job of turning our pile of dogshit into at least round steak. Without his direct involvement, 24x7, I worry they'll be unready and Cutler will get hurt in the first game. Then again, if it all comes together with players returning from injury, and they STAY healthy, we have a servicable pile of dogshit that might gel enough during camp. With the various tools available to Cutler, if the line keeps him upright, this is a potential powerhouse O.

OT: Explain your username and how you became a Bears fan

My username is the same as I used on Usenet for a long time. My dog's name was Cracker and because most of my efforts were trolling Packers fans, it just kinda fit the purpose. I've been a Bears fan since the early 70's when my dad introduced me to the game. -
Let's face it, nobody here predicted this draft would unfold the way it did. You guys know me, I'm a glass half full koolaid drinker. But... Most of this draft clearly fits into the following categories: 1 Reach 2 Risky 3 Tweener. Now as a fan I have to give Emery a chance to prove himself and so I will. We all hope for the best. But frankly, Emery's history with KC doesn't fill me with confidence and this draft looks flawed. I guess getting Marshall makes me feel a little more comfortable with Emery but given that even that was tainted by the charges and this player's mental health condition, the jury is out.

But you have to admit, this kid is super duper golly gee wilackers white! He's just a good ol' farm boy from small town America. It'll be interesting to see him grow as a player in the NFL. I just hope the big city doesn't eat him alive.

I wish I could've done a screen shot on my iPhone app yesterday. Basically it was from the ESPN app and they had a nice pick by pick thing going. In any case, it showed the Scouts Inc. rating for this kid that doesn't show on the web version of the website unless you're an insider. He was rated #1 at his position and a 92 overall. I tried to find the pick by pick and it isn't available right now or else I'd share more. I assume it'll come back into the menu when the picks start back up later. Also, I heard an interview with Emery where he essentially said there were a lot of tackles in this draft that were great prospects... at GUARD. It other words, he wasn't that high on probably anyone after Kalil as to projecting to LT at the NFL level. I'm not saying he's right or wrong or even that my interpretation of what he said is 100% accurate. I assumed with Reiff sitting there he was our pick. So, because the book on Emery is yet to be written and because Scouts Inc. had him rated very highly, I can't bash this pick. I saw the temper tantrum a few had on this site last night and just laughed. You know who you are and you're pathetic! Oh, and I'm sure they still think Carimi will turn into something once healthy. At least I hope so! Now let's get back out there and get a few more pieces to fit into the 2012 Bears Puzzle!!!

I'd LOVE Floyd on this team. But then we'd need to draft OT in the second round! Leave D for later. I think I saw a headline in today's paper where Morrisey is saying go O early too but I haven't had a chance to read the story yet.
-
I agree with this, generally, about Martz. Don't agree with you on Urlacher. I loved the pick and wondered early in his first season why they were moving him around so much and didn't settle at MLB immediately. I think lots of people liked/loved the pick. Were you a Plaxico guy? HA! OK OK, this thread has become too meta. What was a thread about Rachal then became about TO and is now about Jason. Silly interwebs. I promise this is my last post on this particular thread. If I want to talk about Jason or TO, I'll do so in a thread dedicated to them! Just kidding. Let's move on kids.

Yeah, the basically think he's too big a health risk. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...e-nick-collins/

I'm not saying I want Jason to be GM, just that like in the movie It's a Wonderful Life, it would be cool to see how the team would turn out after 5 years of his picks. I'm guessing we'd be the second team to go 0-16 in NFL history. It would be a "free look" at the future with no actual damage done to the Bears. PS. I liked the Martz hire too so I guess we're both idiots there. I didn't think he'd be as stupidly stubborn as he turned out to be.
