http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/567867.html Some quotes… * Gov. Palin's nomination clearly alters the landscape for Alaskans as we survey this race for the presidency -- but it does not overwhelm all other judgment. The election, after all is said and done, is not about Sarah Palin, and our sober view is that her running mate, Sen. John McCain, is the wrong choice for president at this critical time for our nation. ** Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand. The same cannot be said of Sen. McCain. It is easy to look at Sen. Obama and see a return to the smart, bipartisan economic policies of the last Democratic administration in Washington, which left the country with the momentum of growth and a budget surplus that President George Bush has squandered. On the most important issue of the day, Sen. Obama is a clear choice. *** Yet despite her formidable gifts, few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth. To step in and juggle the demands of an economic meltdown, two deadly wars and a deteriorating climate crisis would stretch the governor beyond her range. Like picking Sen. McCain for president, putting her one 72-year-old heartbeat from the leadership of the free world is just too risky at this time.

http://www.economist.com/Vote2008/ Et tu, Australia? LOL! The whole world hates Repugs.

LOL! Same old song and dance from you. And Obama is a socialist because he wants tax breaks for the middle class instead of the wealthy. You guys kill me.

The 8 year nightmare for this country will end IF Obama wins. I'm not saying he will. No jinxes here. People like you, with your ploitical philosophy have been discredited. Your opinion is completely without value. You expect us to trust you after what YOU'VE done to the country? BWAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! Try again. And you're the one brainwashed by 30 something years of Republican talking points. Oh, the media is biased!!!! WAAAAHHHHH. Bullshit, the only biase out there is Fox News which I'm sure you watch religiously. Or Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity on the radio. Most folks who want the truth avoid those sources. You're probably calling into their shows every day. If you think the items I've posted here are biased, it shows yours. I've posted items about several Republicans jumping to Obama. I guess they've been brainwashed too. God damn are you dumb. You quoted barkingmad.com or some shit. LOL!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HNNADGCyI4 Nobody on the McCain side really believes Obama is a radical Muslim with real ties to terrorism. On election night, if McCain wins, we all know he'll get up there and talk about Obama like he's his favorite person in the world. Some of his most racist followers parrot these lines because they're ignorant. But really, McCain and his team are just playing politics, right? But then we get to within 10 days of the election and things still aren't going well. Joe the Plumber just isn't getting you any traction... What do you need as a campaign? A real game-changer. Something so ugly you could tie to your opponent it might make people reconsider their vote based on their most base instincts. Appeal directly to race. That's what it appears they did in this case folks. They were quoted as being out ahead of this story before the police. McCain tried to somehow make this incident about Obama. Why? What tied this case to the Obama campaign? And then it turns out... She made up the story. It never happened. Just like Joe wasn't real, although this is so much uglier. I'm disgusted. Look deep into your soul before you vote next Tuesday. Ask yourself if you're really voting for the best man to lead this country out of this mess. And realize that McCain was willing to do and say anything to become President. Remind you of anyone? We don't need 4 more years of that "anything goes" abuse of power in Washington. Of course, that's just my opinion, but damn if I'm not backed up by the facts.

Being Barry Goldwater's granddaughter and living in Arizona, one would assume that I would be voting for our state's senator, John McCain. I am still struck by certain 'dyed in the wool' Republicans who are on the fence this election, as it seems like a no-brainer to me. Myself, along with my siblings and a few cousins, will not be supporting the Republican presidential candidates this year. We believe strongly in what our grandfather stood for: honesty, integrity, and personal freedom, free from political maneuvering and fear tactics. I learned a lot about my grandfather while producing the documentary, Mr. Conservative Goldwater on Goldwater. Our generation of Goldwaters expects government to provide for constitutional protections. We reject the constant intrusion into our personal lives, along with other crucial policy issues of the McCain/Palin ticket. My grandfather (Paka) would never suggest denying a woman's right to choose. My grandmother co-founded Planned Parenthood in Arizona in the 1930's, a cause my grandfather supported. I'm not sure about how he would feel about marriage rights based on same-sex orientation. I think he would feel that love and respect for ones privacy is what matters most and not the intolerance and poor judgment displayed by McCain over the years. Paka respected our civil liberties and passed on the message that that we should conduct our lives standing up for the basic freedoms we hold so dear. For a while, there were several candidates who aligned themselves with the Goldwater version of Conservative thought. My grandfather had undying respect for the U.S. Constitution, and an understanding of its true meanings. There always have been a glimmer of hope that someday, someone would "race through the gate" full steam in Goldwater style. Unfortunately, this hasn't happened, and the Republican brand has been tarnished in a shameless effort to gain votes and appeal to the lowest emotion, fear. Nothing about McCain, except for maybe a uniform, compares to the same ideology of what Goldwater stood for as a politician. The McCain/Palin plan is to appear diverse and inclusive, using women and minorities to push an agenda that makes us all financially vulnerable, fearful, and less safe. When you see the candidate's in political ads, you can't help but be reminded of the 1964 presidential campaign of Johnson/Goldwater, the 'origin of spin', that twists the truth and obscures what really matters. Nothing about the Republican ticket offers the hope America needs to regain it's standing in the world, that's why we're going to support Barack Obama. I think that Obama has shown his ability and integrity. After the last eight years, there's a lot of clean up do. Roll up your sleeves, Senators Obama and Biden, and we Goldwaters will roll ours up with you.

I agree in many ways with your humorous comments. I wish Libertarians were more viable. Unfortunately, when you've got no money to get your message out, the "two party system" dynamic is impossible to break down. You'd almost need a rich guy like Perot (only one that isn't nuts this time) to run with his own money and establish a legit image for the party.

Per the AP story this morning: WASHINGTON — Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency. The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier," the message said. "Then, al-Qaida will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush." SITE Intelligence Group, based in Bethesda, Md., monitors the Web site and translated the message. "If al-Qaida carries out a big operation against American interests," the message said, "this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaida. Al-Qaida then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it." Mark Salter, a senior McCain adviser, said he had heard about the Web site chatter but had no immediate comment. The message is credited to a frequent and apparently respected contributor named Muhammad Haafid. However, Haafid is not believed to have a direct affiliation with al-Qaida plans or knowledge of its operations, according to SITE. SITE senior analyst Adam Raisman said this message caught SITE's attention because there has been little other chatter on the forums about the U.S. election. SITE was struck by the message's detailed analysis _ and apparent jubilation _ about American financial woes. "What we try to do is get the pulse of the jihadist community," Raisman said. "And it's about the financial crisis." Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden issued a videotape just four days before the 2004 U.S. presidential election directly addressing the American people.

This is huge. To have a GOP paper like the Chicago Tribune endorse a Democrat for the first time in history this week was big. But I think many could discount it because he's the home town guy. To have a Texas newspaper and Colin Powell, probably the most respected voice in the Republican Party, endorse Obama is incredible. Here is a link to the Houston Chronicle endorsement. Colin Powell will be on Meet the Press later today. The show is already taped and you can view the details, including video of his endorsement here.

You're incredibly dumb.
-
Wow! See the entire story and logic behind the endorsement here.

Oh my god! I missed this part when I first read your drivel. You really are that dumb! Here's the deal, the $250,000 is taxable income. Not gross. So first of all, you have deductions for a whole slew of things like depreciation, rent, employee wages, etc. So, a business could be bringing in $400,000 or maybe a lot more before they reached that level. Second, NO BUSINESS anywhere is going to shut down for the year in say, October, as you suggest, so they don't go over the magic number. That's the stupidest friggen thing I've ever heard! They'll pay a slightly higher tax rate on the incremental difference above $250,000 than they currently would. So, they're still keeping most of that extra money for themselves! Get it? No, you probably don't. Lastly, I'm a pay as you go kinda guy. I understand there are times when the government needs to spend more than it takes in but generally I think we should make ends meet. So while I'm all for cutting everyone's taxes, if we have governmental priorities that require spending, we need to collect tax revenues to pay for those expenses. I know, you'll now say that Dems love to spend money... It's the line I've been listening to for decades. But we have ample evidence from the last 8 years, with Repug control of Congress for 6 of those and a Repug President who certainly could've vetoed every dime of excess he wanted to for ALL EIGHT YEARS... Repugs love to spend money too. So, I say, fine, if you want to spend it, collect it. And the place to get it during a recession isn't from the middle class. Get it from the top 5% who've made an absolute KILLING under Bush. They owe it to America to pay their fair share. It isn't right for them to just keep taking and taking from this country and giving nothing back. It's unpatriotic. Why do rich Repugs hate America?
-
Of course it was... LOL! Just because McCain brought his name up 50 times during the debate... BWAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!! Here's a little more detail on Joe the Douchebag... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aejhxaNzMKM He admits HIS TAXES WILL GO DOWN UNDER OBAMA!!! And as Obama himself said, this isn't about punishing anyone, it's about the fact that someone in this country needs to pay taxes. Nobody likes them. But Obama's plans will raise taxes on those making more than $250,000 a year back to what those folks were paying under... wait for it... RONALD REAGAN! Oh my, how terrible is THAT!?!?!?

LOL! DUMBEST CAMPAIGN STUNT EVER!

Ah, but then that would've been "On topic" and posted above.

You don't fake these photos. Unlike the Clinton's whom I'm not sure ever had an authentic moment in their lives.

You really secretly want to date me, don't you? Sorry man, I like girls only.

Not much to really say other than I've worked for the same company now for close to 20 years. I started out as an accountant, was promoted up through the ranks to controller but then because nobody really understood IT, I was also the de facto IT guy for this region of the company. That ultimately became my "real job" (about 8 years or so ago) and now I manage propeller-heads.
