  1. NO question. LT2_3 has a reputation here and has consistently backed up his statements. Further, he's a class guy and knows football, not just the cap stuff (which he's excellent at.) He isn't some cunty newbie.
  2. Nah... Everyone knows you're "the guy" anyway LT2_3! So, it seems we're in the range of $9 million and have something left for a FA LT if we can locate one. Thanks!

    Starting WR?

I was joking/teasing with my "suck" comment. I agree, it's the QB, line and WR's along with the running game and play calling that make a passing game successful. Plenty of places to foist a little blame.

    Starting WR?

They all suck equally? If I had to guess, I'd say Lloyd/Hester but I doubt designating them 1/2 really means all that much.
  5. But but but... We have the Wonderboy. We don't need Chris Simms.
  6. You bet there'll be movement. 8 OL is inadequate, particularly when you realize one of those won't be available until close to November, at the earliest.
  7. Teams across the league will be cutting proven vets. Tampa has 5 QB's on their roster right now, if not more. Culpepper is still out there. Several others. What makes anyone think some team somewhere is going to jump on a BEARS QB who hasn't proven a thing? Hell, I'm not even convinced we won't just cut the guy and sign a proven guy within the first week or two of the season. Depends on who might be available. These Haniacs are pathetic. (Not saying you're one of them, necessarily.) Again, that said, I still think they'll keep him for now on their roster. I doubt there's real pressure from elsewhere on the roster that we can't keep three QB's.
  8. I'd be willing to lose him. If someone is willing to sign him to their 53 man roster, A BEARS QB WHO LOOKED GOOD AGAINST SCRUBS, I could live with that. I suspect they'll keep him, however.
  9. Just finished an ESPN league draft I'm doing with my dad and a bunch of his buddies. Got confused by the interface so blew it once or twice but overall I'm happy. One guy who let it autodraft for him got a full team but every player on his bench is either a RB or TE. Ouch. (1) LaDainian Tomlinson RB (20) Maurice Jones-Drew RB (21) Tony Romo QB (40) Plaxico Burress WR (41) Jason Witten TE (60) Jerricho Cotchery WR (61) Jonathan Stewart RB (80) Kevin Smith RB (81) Hines Ward WR (100) Chris Chambers WR (101) David Garrard QB (120) Giants D/ST (121) Shayne Graham K (140) Derrick Mason WR (141) D.J. Hackett WR (160) L.J. Smith TE
  10. OK Republicans everywhere, you've had your chance. The American People gave you 8 years, 6 with complete control over our government. Where has it led us? It's one thing to honestly believe in reducing the size of government. I respect those "Jack Kemp Republicans". I really do. However, the last 8 years have proven those were just words, all along. Instead of smaller government, we got record deficits and incompetent governing. Quite literally, nothing has gone right in 8 years. Oh sure, you can feel good about your lower taxes. But the fact is every dime, and then some, was borrowed money. There will come a time when we'll need to pay the piper... with interest. And the way it was done, nothing more than a huge cash grab for the wealthy... It didn't stimulate the economy. We're far worse off now than we were in 2000 when this absolute joke of a man was elected. The John McCain I saw in 2000 was an honorable man. Since then he's gone south. I don't know if the political realities of being a Republican got to him or what but he isn't a "Maverick" anymore. And, frankly, he scares the shit out of me. I didn't think anyone could be less inspirational than George W. Bush. Can McCain string two sentences together without a massive gaff of one sort or another? This VP pick of his is clearly an act of desperation. He just had to find a woman, any woman. This is like Dan Quayle in a skirt! I'm not going to debate anyone here. This is my one and only post on this topic and hopefully "The Water Cooler" is the right venue for it. I welcome responses but I won't get into it with anyone here. In closing: I'm just asking that Republicans everywhere apologize and go stand in the corner for the next 8 years while WE FIX YOUR MESS. Thank you for your time. UPDATE: I see there's already one emotional responses below and I'm sure there will be others. All I can say is you're free to feel that way. However, you probably ought to find a news source other than Faux News and/or Rush Limpdick. My goodness, the uninformed BS in that post is unreal. I recommend anyone seeing, hearing or reading something they think is obvious bullshit, here or elsewhere, do the research themselves before forming an opinion. If you just believe me or anyone else below, that's your mistake. This election is critical and we all ought to spend the time to get educated on the issues. It's called citizenship and we need to take it seriously. We get the leaders we deserve.
  11. Fox Sports and ESPN generally break everything sports-wise. So you're right. But that doesn't really apply to Mariotti. The guy never got off his ass once in his life to get anywhere he might get some inside information. He feared going into clubhouses and basically used quotes others got to build his stories around. In other words, he's not going to go somewhere because they're breaking stories. That said, he's right, newspapers are dying. Sam Zell is getting his ass kicked on this Tribune purchase. Couldn't happen to a "nicer" guy. If you broke Sam Zell open, demons would fly out. I don't know where Jay will end up but I'm sure I'll continue to ignore him there too.
  12. Good point. I guess I just hope they have a serviceable OT they can spare to get our "serviceable" DE, Dan Bazuin.
  13. Tommy and Dusty are licking their chops.
  14. Don't know what they have to offer back but if they've got a spare really good OT we could use, do we have enough depth at DE to cover for giving Ogun up? I'd want one hell of a player for him since they're in a difficult spot too. Just a thought. Wonder what the cap issues would be?
  15. Basically we made the offer and the Panthers had some time, I believe two weeks, to match. The incident either took place after our offer or the press about it did. I can't recall. Whichever, the Bears didn't know about it when they made their offer and they weren't allowed to change it afterwards. The Panthers didn't match. He's been a solid citizens since he joined us although not such a good football player.
  16. Really? Seems like you should take your dog to the vet. My dog barks, eats, sleeps, plays and sheds like a MF'er. No pee pee. I made a joke using his own line against him. He responded with a threat. A gay threat, but a threat. Free country. But unless Pix or some other mod tells me I'm outta line, I have every right to call him on his BS. Doing so with charm and humor, of course. Actually, I was cool. It happens without trying. I'm the guy in the "most interesting man in the world" commercials. Only younger and without the beard. Actually he said he'd pee on me and then said I was a tuff guy. I think I got under his thin skin and I'm still laughing about it. Huh? Dialect? LOL! No, he was on the chat and said something in the realm of "The Bears suck" about 50 times. If you weren't there then why even argue about it? Others were and they'd agree he wasted our time. Fortunately there's a block on the chat room and I think most used it later in the chat. I know I did. Seriously, are you his BIGGEST fan? Or kid brother? I didn't call him out. He made an assinine comment about Brown and the Bears in general. His original post lacked any intelligence or content. I made light of it and slapped him, lightly, for being a stupid troll. I'll do it again. Often. I hope that doesn't hurt your feelings.
  17. I vote for #2. Although Freddie "Flags" Miller has a certain ring to it too.
  18. LOL! But that's nothing. I once really disturbed my wife explaining a "curbie".
  19. I'm not happy about it either. Let's just move on.
  20. Me too. And I tried to add to the humor. I don't take things personally but I don't think he meant his "piss" comment as a reference to the "dog" portion of my name either. I think that's borne out by his calling me a "tuff guy" in another thread. I think he legitimately doesn't like me which makes me smile, frankly. A tool like this guy, someone I agree borders on troll here time and time again; I'm damn glad having him not like me. He can have insightful moments too and there are times when his posts start the ball rolling on something important. I'm not saying he doesn't belong here. Just that if he makes a comment that paints him as a jackass, he ought to expect to be called a jackass. I thought my original post to him was quite well done, humor intended. And yes, I dish it out to you because I know you take it well, we have fun, you dish it back and we add to the content around here. I think everyone else enjoys our "fights" but we'll always need to clarify to the rookies that we're just talking smack and it's "no blood no foul."
  21. Not one of JA's better defensive FA pickups, eh? I agree. Damn, I thought we had something with this guy but he never lived up to his billing. If it weren't for the restaurant incident, NC may have matched and kept him.
  22. I never read Mariotti so I'll never quote him. Is that web site jaythejoke.com still alive and kicking?
