Lol...that’s actually funny. Just like I think you’d be a great news editor! You just never know though right? Although I think they have the offense pretty well covered with Nagy and the guy from Oregon. And the retread oline coach from ND .
-
Touché! Although that wouldn’t be such a bad idea right? Lol You need a psychological evaluation. ?
-
I dunno. Maybe he wants to be an OC somewhere? It’s called levity... lighten up.
-
I should edit the thread title to: Donatell, will he stay or will he go? Lol!!! REOPEN THE THREAD!!!! Lol
-
Yep. Now that he has (and is) assembled a decent staff; let’s see how he does in getting more of the right playmaker pieces. Something he’s struggled with in the past.
-
Excellent news!
-
Yep traditionally that’s what the WCO is known for; flooding the D with multiple receivers. To include RBs catching out of the backfield. Which could be a problem for Howard as he stinks at it. Oh well, maybe just have him run a lot.

Here’s a story on that: https://247sports.com/nfl/chicago-bears/Bol...eport-113591557 Could it be Fangio feels jilted due to him being a ‘known’ in Chicago and still didn’t get the HC job? Maybe even more discouraged that a relative unknown up and comer got the job over him? No worries though, according to the above article (and confirming what others here have said) it sounds as though this Boettcher would be a good hire. Put together some pretty strout Ds. ... and he’s young... Sorta the theme with this current staff.

I suspect with this type of WC offense (quick strike), we’ll see more of the smaller framed quick twitch type wide receivers that are good with the crossing over the middle patterns. In that instance I could see Kendall Wright making it back. And maybe even Bellamy, considering how he seems to be slowly improving. Inman and Meredith are almost too big (IMHO) but could be used for skinny post, corner or fade routes. In watching some replays of both KC and Philly (since Pedersen is there) from this last week, I also was reminded they love to use their TEs. Kelce (KC) and Ertz (Phi) get a fair share of work in the short zone areas. Could Shaheen or even Sims be that guy? One element I hope they’ll continue using is somehow keep zone blocking as a staple; especially for the run game. Howard has really gotten good about reading his OLmen blocking in this scheme and even Cohen seemed to develop patience as the season wore on. With this type set up you can still run bootlegs, zone reads and play action to allow Trubisky to better draw on his skills.

Yeah, here’s a story about that very thing. https://247sports.com/nfl/chicago-bears/Bol...staff-113531733 I’m starting to believe Fangio isn’t coming back. Taking too long for him to decide. I saw something before where when Fox was hired, Fangio came in quickly afterward. Was similar when Harbaugh had him as DC. This doesn’t smell right.

Don’t you “dare say it”! Lololo? But I think you’re right, wouldn’t make much sense for Toub to leave where he’s currently at.

Yeah there was an interview Nagy gave, can’t remember who (Joniak?), where he said he got a call from Pace on Saturday about the KC loss. Apparently the interview was set up for Saturday in KC. Pace said he watched the game from his hotel room and after seeing KC lose called to tell Nagy that if he needed more time to deal with the loss he could wait to do the interview later. Nagy said that empathy or understanding from Pace went a long way with him in deciding where to go. Pace later added that they ‘went off script’ while doing the interview and at that dinner got to know each other a little more personally. As Jonaik put it; it is a ‘Kumby-ya’ type relationship. Gotta say I like what I’m hearing so far.

All of what you speculate makes sense. Green Bay is dumb to pass on this opportunity but I’m glad they will (hopefully).
-
Ah yes...Donatell...good call. That would be a fine replacement.
-
Yeah when Georgia was ahead I saw after a pretty nice stop by the Dawg defense they scanned over and showed Tucker...I about choked. Was thinking ‘why couldn’t he do stuff like that in Chicago’? But then Bama brought out the Freshman QB and he had no answer for it. Pathetic. I was cheering for Georgia with a friend of ours thinking Georgia would avenge Atlanta’s stunning loss in last season’s super bowl. Nope.

Yeah I know there has been talk from GB but now the pressure is on. One of the larger concerns besides managing to keep Fangio is keeping the 3-4 scheme. Although personally not a fan it’s what our D is built for. I saw some discussion here about going back to a 4-3 which wouldn’t be a good idea; IMHO. As far as potential replacements; not sure what to think about Bradley although it appears Seattle wants him back. If Vic were to go to GB why not swap and get Capers? He’s had some pretty decent success with GB and knows the 3-4.
-
Early reports are GB is making a play to get him...God please no!!
-
I’m not quite sure what to make out of all of it but one thing is for certain; Virgina and company are going outside their comfort zone with Pace, Trubisky and now Nagy. Although burned by thinking outside the box a few years ago with Trestman, you gotta admire the oldest Franchise for trying to spice things up a bit.
-
Reid has always kinda called the offense hasn’t he? I’m a little bit concerned Nagy was criticized for ‘abandoning the run game’ this weekend but hope that was just a blip.
-
The key to having this continue will be a stout defense. In other words either Fangio stays or Nagy knows a really good DC. FWIW; it seems most of the ‘Reid tree’ coaches do pretty well on their own. I’m just glad it ain’t McDaniels.
-
All of this is sound reasoning. I’m in agreement with most of what you say here...however my response to you is measured... Because you keep making comments like this; “backpedaling” etc: then when I ask you to explain it you ignore it. I’ll ask again, what or who am I “tak[ing] shots” at? And what exactly is a “bone problem” in this context? Last I checked I haven’t been diagnosed with osteoporosis although I probably have arthritis.
-
I think you posted the wrong link? But that Nick Wright guy made a very interesting comparison of Garrapolo and Kaepernick. Damn!
-
I think you need to read Lucky’s take on McDaniels. There enough questions there to not want him.
-
Stinker, this is all opinionated conjecture on my part. You know, the type of talk you confuse for “back-peddling”? Which you never did explain. Like I said before, you never know someone’s motivation. And with Gruden’s new deal at $10 million/year the bar has been re-set. You don’t think others will take notice?
