  1. Agreed. Not that I don't like Rodgers but the best he's done is 764 total yds (362 rushing and 402 rec) in 2012. Not really shown that potential (or increased) since then. Granted he's a good piece to the ST but maybe not enough to keep him long term. At this point not sure how Perry will add up in all this. And this time last year we were all certain Carey was going to be cut.
  2. So for your consideration, how about a later level FA in Terrance Knighton? Had a down year in Washington last year but thrived in Denver under Fox and Del Rio. Would be a Ted Washinton, Keith Traylor type DT.
  3. Kentucky has a 3-4 and Nevada a 4-3. If I recall on some reading I had done I thought Denver brought Marshall over (after being drafted in JAX) with the intent of using him as an OLB. I may be mistaken.
  4. Technically speaking Marshall came out of college (Nevada) listed as an OLB and has had some experience in the position. Or, as someone else mentioned, Trevathan is more a coverage LB which would make sense in his being able to play OLB if need. And still technically speaking, Trevathab was listed as an OLB also coming out of college. So what's to say they couldn't bring he and Trvathan and still draft an ILB (Jack, Ragland or Lee) too? After DL and LB you need what; one safety and maybe a CB? I see maybe bringing in Ayers could fill the DLine up sufficiently. On the offensive side you can draft a need player (OL or even QB) and still get a few quality FAs to boot.
  5. Agreed. The fact that Fox was coach when he was drafted is almost like a he re-drafted him. There must be something good that he saw coming out of college (Kentucky) which has proven him (Fox) right. In a brief snapshot of him, he's a former 6th round pick from Kentucky. Kentucky is apparently part of the SEC (who knew?) and Trevathan actually was leading the SEC in tackles for a large part of two years. So he's no slouch. Now the question is, would you still go for (the other) Brandon Marshall? I would. And still draft an ILB in the early rounds. I think it would be awesome to have a duo like Trevathan/Marshall paired up again.
  6. Agreed. Getting both these guys for a bargain (compared to what we've seen) would be stupendous.
  7. Rumor or no and to answer your question I would do it. Only concern I have, other than what you already mentioned is whether he'd carry over that stinky attitude he had with Seattle. The last thing we'd need is trading one malcontent for another malcontent. That and we'd lose some of the blocking ability that Bennett offers.
  8. Saw another rumor that the Eagles aren't done and could possibly release Ryan Mathews. Any interest there?
  9. Yes. Although there's a disgusting story going round that GB may be interested too. Ick!! http://www.chatsports.com/chicago-bears/a/...-marshall-27222
  10. Yes to Trevathan. No to Jackson. He seems more like a Raider to me.
  11. I hope they do. Not a splashy player but good for the rotation.
  12. Nah. I looked at it briefly. Think our team needs a more true pocket passer with the ability to scramble when necessary. Not the other way around. This morning Charley Casserly was ripping him up pretty good. Saying he needs to be in a similar offense like Cam Newton. Only problem is his durability. Doesn't think he'll last. I'd agree. Hate to say it but see a lot of Tebow similarities. One guy on the panel suggested he might do good as a backup to Russel Wilson in Seattle. Problem is they all thought RGIII will want to be a starter. And he won't see much of the field in Sea.
  13. No doubt. And Brad don't you think you'd bitch too if you had to play for Carroll? I know I would. I'm trying to think of any successful TEs in his schemes. The list is short.
  14. This goes against my thought of drafting skill players in the earlier rounds but I was watching a show yesterday about the top ten undrafted players of all time. On the list; Warren Moon, Kurt Warner and Tony Romo. And today I saw that Jeff Garcia and Dave Krieg were a few others. So it can be done to find a decent one on the scrap heap. Speaking of: funny how both Romo and Cutler have very similar qualities and styles yet one was not drafted and the other was...in the first round. Hmmmm.... ?
  15. It's interesting when you put in Rahim Moore highlights to You Tube. You either see isolated shots of him laying out WRs or the one where he got burned by Baltimore in that playoff game a few years ago. I remember that game well. My sister being a Broncos fan very nearly had a stroke. But all that said, yeah I wouldn't mind seeing him try out. I like hitters in the backfield like when Fencik was there.
  16. Meh. With his recent injury history I wouldn't be settled with him, even as a third down back like the article suggests. Think Eddie Royal and then be right about it. Just wouldn't be worth it IMHO. Id much rather see them draft another RB in the first three or four rounds.
  17. What you think I'm gonna say? Good for U of I! I may have to watch college football other than Nebraska from now on. Now you think we can make a deal with them for Cutler? ?
  18. Don't know about you but Deonte Thompson wasn't looking all that bad on KR. And he was playing a few snaps here and there and catching a few passes...didn't look all that un-promising. And personally I'm still of the opinion that Royal isn't the answer at the Z. Maybe Mariani? He looked pretty good there last year.
  19. Found a printed version of the article. The fact the author said Forte will be released "...most likely because of Jeremy Langford." tells me this person has never watched the Bears. Let alone he's comparing virtual duplicates; catch out of the backfield and both 29 being most obvious. One big difference; Forte's not an injury risk. http://showtimesports.sportsblog.com/posts...cago-bears.html
  20. Was perusing the early morning rags and saw a small blip about how "Arian Foster to Chicago makes the most sense." When I went to open it was a video article so I didn't get a chance to see who the hell made this prediction. But why on earth would the Bears ever consider this? Granted he was once a good player but in the last few years he's had nothing but health concerns. If we won't keep Forte this makes no sense at all. And as Jason would say this is pure "dumb". Absolutely, undeniably no thank you.
  21. Some discussion i heard recently on NFL Network (can't remember who said it) that the wave of the future on defense are versatile players (players who have experience at other positions) that play LB. They even mentioned Urlacher and his history as a Safety in college as an example. Think they were using Von Miller as an example of how speed kills when used right. Like in the SB when one minute he's crashing down on Cam from the outside then on the next play dropping back on pass coverage. I personally like the idea of multi dimensional players like that. If Jack fits the bill... Sign me up.
  22. This agreeing thing is really creepy.... So what about this Myles Jack guy? He seems versatile. Isn't he the one that played some RB too? I see him as this years version of Shaq Lawson (currently of the Panthers) who played; LB, Safety and RB in college. Turns out to a pretty sweet LB for Carolina.
  23. Didn't McCaskey say this was "news to him"? https://mobile.twitter.com/ZachZaidman/stat...src=twsrc%5Etfw
  24. McPhee doesn't do that? Seemed to me when he was on he did pretty well. Got hurt late in the season and lost his edge but he's got a purpose to hurt. I'd agree to your thought as long is wasn't that we were looking in round one or 2 for an OLB (unless you were able to find the next Von Miller... Then maybe). You think Ragland could do OLB?
