That will be key tomorrow. He can move but nowhere near where Justin can in a bind. The game of ‘psy-ops’ will be important in that the more rushed he (Love) sees will play into his internal clock. Any hits and sacks they can add in will be the cherry on top. Looks like the running game will primarily be on Aaron Jones and recently signed Emmanuel Lewis (who recently came off IR) due to AJ Dillon not being available.

200 yards a game isn’t bad if you also add in rushing to the mix. In Loves last 17 games (16 this season) he’s managed 3,852 passing yards (avg ~230/game) and 240 yards rushing (4,082 total yards) with 34 TDs. Justin’s last 17 games had 3,167 passing yards and 1,024 rushing yards (4,191 total yards) with 27 total TDs. They aren’t all that far apart. Edit: should add, the NFL has one year of tape on Love and three years on Fields. And he’s progressed despite that. What will happen in year 2 and 3 for Love remains to be seen.

You listed Goff in the loss (good QB) and win (bad QB) category. Similar to AZ’s point, I’d agree that Goff has been putting up some pretty decent numbers since joining the Lions and because of that his near miss and win this season should weigh heavier in his favor (IMHO). And the point about Wilson being benched could be similar to Herbert. Although not a “bad QB” his team is a mess and was out of the playoffs earlier than Chicago. Sure early this season Mahomes was continuing in his winning ways but I’d be willing to bet if they had to play against each other right now, Chicago could beat them.

And hes a “local” product (Orland Park). Been a fan of the Bears since he was a kid. Couldn’t find the pic but there was one of him on the social media network wearing a Bears jersey as a kid (think Urlacher?) and I saw a story where his grandma would play the “Super Bowl Shuffle” for him on VHS whenever he’d visit her .

Jaylon Johnson and Montez Sweat Pro Bowl Players

Saw a comment that noted although Edwards did at least comparable if not better than Smith statistically (he also allegedly got more Pro Bowl votes) Smith was chosen to go to the Pro Bowl where Edwards was not . A couple illustrations below to include the reminder of the deal Poles made to get Edwards on the team vs keeping Smith. -

Sorta like had Poles negotiated with Johnson earlier this season (when he allegedly was seeking to be traded), Poles would’ve saved a lot more money than waiting until now. ??♂️ -

Poles is a player’s GM. Since he’s used to being in the locker room that’s where he feels comfortable. If the players are ok with it and he’s able to make the tough decisions when it matters (as you say) then I have no issue with it. Gotta think Ian Cunningham is due some credit to Poles and the team’s success in drafting and personnel management. I suspect he’ll be gone this year. I read the Commanders and Raiders are eyeballing him for GM. The silver lining is that if he gets hires as GM the Bears get another draft pick or two (?) -

This will be a test of his ingenuity. Since he came from this system LaFleur will know what to do to blunt any ‘system’ calls. Thankfully Berry has been struggling with his defensive play calling and very nearly lost his job. Gotta think this’ll be a test of Justin’s ability to also (smartly) audible out when necessary. -
Ah, I missed the “drafted” part. Agree for sure that Poles’ plan should be then to acquire as many potential 1st round picks (this year and next) rather than use the one overall this year.

Meh. Since he returned from injury the Bears went 4-2 in their last six games. Four of the games the offense scored over 20 points and Justin passed for over 200 yards in four of this six as well. The defense coming on stronger as the season wore on would’ve been better in games like when he threw for over 300 yards and 4 TDs against Denver earlier in the season. I think it safe to say teams are legitimately concerned about what Chicago can become next season especially if you consider how many teams are allegedly interested in trading high picks for Justin.

They had as many as 3-4 last year with Leatherwood and Harry on the team. ??♂️

The team is on the cusp of meeting your record predictions (and “no playoffs”) and Justin is “on the out”?

Oh I’m not. She’s the public affairs rep.

Yeah I was in the same exact place when I read the link someone shared about Dexter. So far he has 13 solo and 2.5 sacks and he was nowhere near the hype Carter was. If you consider that instead Chicago got Wright and Dexter in round 2 then I’m good with Poles’ decision. Especually knowing Carter also has a questionable character background.

Coulda swore we had this in Marshall and Jeffery. Turns out they both had over 1,000 at the same time (2013) and nearly were both over 1,300 that year. Jeffery got 1,421 and Marshall 1,295. As Maxwell Smart used to say, “missed it by that much”.

Random pic from yesterday’s game and one of Justin’s ‘biscuit in the basket’. (Thank you Gus Johnson).

With this I would completely agree. FWIW my conspiracist side says everyone on the Bears knows what’s going to happen next season. When I say “everyone” I mean; Poles, Warren, Flus, Fields and ownership. And they are all sworn to secrecy to appear that they don’t know what will happen so as to drive up the price of the 1st round pick and get all they can for it.
