Have to admit it's good to see J'Marcus Webb on the other team.
-
And the leading receiver for the Bears...PERNELL FREAKN MCPHEE!!! Nice work D!!!
-
WHY ISNT GRASU PLAYING?!? That wasn't Jays fault, I don't think. Doesn't make sense to have your guard doing this. Assuming Grasu's played center AND practiced some exchanges with Jay.
-
Yeah, I'd hope so since he's the "starter" and paid big money to do just that! Lol indeed!
-
Haha... I should probably remind you that they play 4 quarters, not one. But yes SO FAR he looks really good. Looking through progressions. And it might help that the Raiders D is ranked #28.
-
Yes. A chance at what exactly remains to be seen. ?

Are you a fan of adversity? L Admittedly I'm more a fan of the brash, smash mouth defense than I am of a sleek offense but I'm not a fan of sacrificing one for the other.

HOLY CRAP!! Would you look at that, we agree on something else?!?!?! And wasn't his rookie year marred with injuries? Our team has really only gotten one good year out of him, his 2nd, that I can count. Granted it was a great one but I mean really....
-
Really? He's just so young to be having these malingering issues. He's fast approaching that magical number of 28 that you talked about in another thread AND he's starting to have an injury history. How can you justify a long term commitment to that? If it's a one or two year deal ... maybe but man it's a hard pill to swallow for me.

Hearing the cast is off for Kyle Long. And just in time to face Khalil Mack. This should be good.... Although.... http://www.silverandblackpride.com/2015/10...with-hip-injury

As much as I like AJ and this pains me to consider but our team may need move on from him. What makes it even harder to consider is our "#1" hasn't even seen the field as a professional yet.... Was Mushin Muhammad right when he said "Chicago is where wide receivers go to die"?

Potential List of FA in 2016 per Aaron Leming

Well thought out question. History, so far, proves he can't maintain being mistake free. We (I mean all of us and the team) could be lulled into a false sense of security if he somehow manages to string enough good games together to make EVERYONE a believer. And much like Emery did a few years ago, we would continue to bite off on the mess of a contract. I think for me to be convinced, at least this year, that he could do it is if 1) he comes back and plays without getting injured again 2) cuts down on the turnovers (notice I didn't say eliminate - trying to work with you here) and 3) bring our team to the precipice of the playoffs. Yes I said playoffs. It's still possible. Next to not but it could happen. I need to see a complete reversal from him, and maintained, before I'll believe. -

Is Michael Vick a FA next year? After watching him tonight I think the Bears need to seriously sign him! I'm thinking he might be a better placeholder than our current "franchise QB" for whoever Chicago drafts next year. And he's probably cheaper. -
Agreed. I've never doubted his ability to put his nose where he shouldn't. He's hurt himself more trying to do good than just mysteriously getting hurt like a lot of players nowadays do. Still curious about this 'minor hamstring strain'. It's either Fox playing games or something they're not telling us because a strain isn't usually too serious. I only say that because he's already missed one game and wasn't THAT noticeably limping when he got off the turf. My concern, and my little conspirist voice speaking, is that he may have done something to his shoulder on the play he got hurt. I mean if you look at it I couldn't blame him for needing more time for that to heal. Has the practice report said he's throwing without limitation? Or is he just running though the plays?

Eddie Royal is 29. BM was 28ish when he joined the team. Same for Bushrod. Sometimes it's a crapshoot, like the draft, if you get the right player at the right time. Thing is with veteran players there is more ''tape" on them playing in actual NFL settings. Hell sometimes they get better with age: Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald. With Allen I think what hurt him more than anything was the scheme change. He never really established himself last year with being ill etc. And this year just didn't work out. -
As far as the intent of either Forte or the team goes we should know something soon. It would seem 'blood is in the water' ... http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report...=ansmsnsports11 http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...-172404441.html

Ha!!! Good try but no. Close analogy but not the same.
-
At the rate their going they're going to have a few vacancies to fill on the 53. FA officially closes around week 6 right?
-
Agreed on all parts. I'm not convinced our team is already looking to next season and beyond. I'm of the mind they are making moves simply to accommodate what they are doing now. Although Bostic led the team in tackles last year, we haven't heard a peep out of him this year. And Allen just never really picked up on the defense that Fangio brought over. With Johnson's injury, Carolina needed a pass rusher for their 4-3 defense and they got him Everyone wins in the end. Jared's on a 3-0 team now with hopes to make a run. Which he deserved.

I know. I was "feeling my oats" yesterday and thought I'd ask the question repeatedly. Fact is I know they aren't ridding us of him for the very reasons you and killerkraz cited. Yes I was for Mariotta. A little worried how he'd translate to the NFL but it appears he's doing fine. Having Cutler go to Tennessee would've made a lot of people happy, including Kim.
-
Et tou AZ? You're only half right. I think the team can and will win WITHOUT Cutler. But who will replace him? I even went as far as saying that I'm pretty certain that player is not currently on the roster. Not sure at this point who would be worthy of trying to get since the season is started and you're right the staff would be foolish in trying. But if the rumors were true that the Bears were trying to make a play on Mariotta by using Cutler as bait... Opportunity missed. Onto to 2016.
-
Wasn't the team dangling him before the season too? Not all that odd.
-
Naw, I'm mostly just being a jerk. Although you're right that Cutler is about "half competent".
