  1. Well said Lemon. And I might add that I think Langford is also able to catch out of the backfield.
  2. I might agree with this except that Carey brings another dimension to the running attack. Where Langford may be more an edge runner Carey is more up the middle. If I had to pick the three I'd say Forte, Langford and Carey with Rodgers being the odd man out. He hasn't shown much in his career to make me think he's a keeper but then again he's never really had the opportunity. But I'd keep him if I knew I could get something in exchange for Forte.
  3. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/24797...n=chicago-bears Hard to believe that only year two of his career and he's already looking at a 'make or break' situation. So is this the case? (AZ did you get to see him play for the Wildcats?) From what I see, if anyone was expendable, Forte could/should be the one sent packing. Maybe in the form of a trade? In watching some film on he and Langford they quite literally look like the same back. Forte might have a little more of a jukability in the open field but when you compare their videos coming out of college, they are quite literally the same. Or would it be better to keep four? (Forte, Carey, Rodgers and Langford). Since Fox's offense seems to rely more on the RBC concept, perhaps its better to have more than less.
  4. I say this is a good thing. Jared obviously realizes he's at the twilight of his career. He recognizing a change can probably help him is a good sign of a leader. Wish that Peanut could have done that with a move to Safety. I recall him saying earlier this year that he still didn't like the idea of the change. Apparently Fangio was able to get through to him and convince him this was a good idea. He doesn't need to look far to see someone else, Julius Peppers, having success making a similar transition.
  5. It's good to get perspective from others that are closer to the action. And apparently follow the teams (aside from the Bears) more diligently than I. If the majority of you think Thibs going away is good, so do I. I'm looking forward to what the new guy can do. In the meantime GO HAWKS!!!!!
  6. I'm with *EDIT:: Lucky Luciano on this. Like these alternate variations but wouldn't want them as a permanent replacement. I think the 'old school' look what the team resembled when it helped found the NFL is an important piece of living history. There have been a few variants of other old school designs that didn't pan out, the one with the orange vertical stripes being one.
  7. I remember former D-line coach Pasquloni talking about Ferguson and Sutton last year and how impressed he was with both of them. Both in their abilities as players and their character. Reading this confirms that he seems like a great kid. I look forward to what he and the other youngsters have to offer this year.
  8. Agreed. And if the team is big on character as much as they are touting, this hold out etc doesn't play favorably towards Bennett's court. Add in his antics from last year (have to believe that was only the tip of the iceberg) and I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone (or not playing because he's holding out) before the season starts. I'll admit I don't know a lot about Wilkerson but have to believe that given his want for more money he's close to worth that. And as you pointed out, with the lack of playmakers on the defensive side (compared to what the offense has) he would appear to add to the potential star power.
  9. Not that I didn't believe you, but I don't. From Wikipedia (Jerry Reinsdorf - owner and chairman of Bulls): "He (Reinsdorf) is controversial for his involvement (along with Jerry Krause) in breaking up the championship team by not hiring back key personnel such as Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan." I thought that name sounded familiar. Thanks for schooling me...again.
  10. You were doing good until the bolded part. Can't offer ANY type of excuse for that behavior.
  11. Forgive my ignorance (blame it on living up here all these years) but isn't this the same front office that screwed things up during the championship runs in the 90's?
  12. Although one has to ask why would the team be stockpiling so many TE's? (6 at last count?) And isn't he (Bennett) indicating that he's more interested in getting a contract renewal than show up for practice? (article below) I mean if Forte can show up while his contract is being mulled over, why can't Marty? http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/...ase-unhappy.htm
  13. Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau fired today. Very unfortunate.... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2465606...paign=editorial
  14. So while reading about Ray "dipshit" McDonalds departure from the team I started seeing commentary about the possibility of Jets DLman Mo Wilkerson being dangled as trade bait. So far the Jets have publicly said they intend to keep him but he's apparently in a contract year, holding out AND they just drafted Leonard Williams. Some of the concerns obviously are his demand for a big contract and that our team has other needs than just DL. But... Is Wilkerson impactful enough to make a difference to the new defense that Fangio is working to implement? And could Martellus Bennett being offered in a trade to the Jets sweeten the deal? http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/24778...n=chicago-bears http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/05/j...me_as_they.html
  15. Since I was curious I had to see what for. Apparently it was due to his violating the restraining order from the last most recent arrest. And in case you missed it, this article also mentions that the DA is still considering charges on the earlier sexual assault accusations. http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la...0527-story.html And one last tidbit of information. The last DV arrest was allegedly due to his action towards a child. Truly a legitimate friggin POS!
  16. Dallas will probably sign him at some point.
  17. Answer me this, why even do it? If it doesn't affect the outcome, as you claim, why go through all the cloak and dagger of doing it? And then when asked about it, lie?
  18. At this point this whole issue of this, specifically about Tom Brady, isn't so much about the PSI in the footballs. The report clearly said that the footballs were manipulated and that Brady (probably) had knowledge of it. The question remains; if it doesn't give a clear advantage, why do it? Anyway, my point. Brady had some knowledge of the alterations and when questioned about it lied and did not cooperate with the investigation. Robert Kraft has decided to avoid the embarrassment of the appeal process; how long before Brady follows suit?
  19. Saw this article today. Found it interesting. Good perspective that I hadn't considered. Goes to show how arrogant Kraft and crew are.... http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/if-the...jUDr1?ocid=iehp
  20. Maybe not in your article but here it does: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000049...w-bears-offense I'll admit that neither Cutler or Gase said it but in the article it clearly suggests: "Rather it was a call back to the strict limitations that offense put on the quarterback, taking some of the decision-making out of the process." and further elaborating with: "Since decision-making has been one of Cutler's biggest weaknesses, that could be a good thing." And there are other articles that similarly cite this. And since you and I appear to agree that this should be a good thing for Cutler especially, not sure why you'd care to invalidate that point.
  21. That's the beauty of working within the confines of a business, in this case the NFL. They make the rules for their company. You break their rules, you pay their penalties. Since this isn't a criminal process, you don't have the need/luxury of having a third party look into it. Don't have to. If you're the NFL, you may in fact want it to go to court. I'm surprised Brady and his attorneys are willing to take the risk. If he (Brady) were forced to play by the rules of the court, rather than the NFL, something tells me he'd find himself in a bigger mess than he already is. The most desired for Brady (or smartest) would probably to look into getting a disinterested arbitrator involved, if they can. Not sure how league rules handle that. I know normally in union dealings that's where a lot of settlement decisions head. You're probably right. But not for the same reason. Given the past 1-2 years and all the other bad publicity I'm sure Goodell would just as soon be done and over with all of it. Not because Brady is going to come out on top of it all.
  22. Yes but the parallels are hard to resist. Both QBs have essentially been mediocre at best (Romo more so than Cutler), both have gotten ludicrous amount of money for that relatively poor play and both had complimentary crap defenses as of late. The fact that Romo appeared to do better with less control (passing) on offense, better running game and improved oline play encourages me to think Cutler could follow that same path as Gase and company construct that similar model.
  23. I think what will happen is they will follow the Dallas model from last season. That being take the decision making out or Cutler's hands and put it into designed plays. Was reading recently where Cutler said some of the offensive game planning under Gase is "Martz-ist" meaning he won't have as much control as he once did. Which I think will be a good thing for the team and Cutler.
