  1. Agreed on all parts. I'm not convinced our team is already looking to next season and beyond. I'm of the mind they are making moves simply to accommodate what they are doing now. Although Bostic led the team in tackles last year, we haven't heard a peep out of him this year. And Allen just never really picked up on the defense that Fangio brought over. With Johnson's injury, Carolina needed a pass rusher for their 4-3 defense and they got him Everyone wins in the end. Jared's on a 3-0 team now with hopes to make a run. Which he deserved.
  2. I know. I was "feeling my oats" yesterday and thought I'd ask the question repeatedly. Fact is I know they aren't ridding us of him for the very reasons you and killerkraz cited. Yes I was for Mariotta. A little worried how he'd translate to the NFL but it appears he's doing fine. Having Cutler go to Tennessee would've made a lot of people happy, including Kim.
  3. Et tou AZ? You're only half right. I think the team can and will win WITHOUT Cutler. But who will replace him? I even went as far as saying that I'm pretty certain that player is not currently on the roster. Not sure at this point who would be worthy of trying to get since the season is started and you're right the staff would be foolish in trying. But if the rumors were true that the Bears were trying to make a play on Mariotta by using Cutler as bait... Opportunity missed. Onto to 2016.
  4. Wasn't the team dangling him before the season too? Not all that odd.
  5. Naw, I'm mostly just being a jerk. Although you're right that Cutler is about "half competent".
  6. WHAT?!? NOONE WANTS CUTLER?!?!? -- oh wait? There's Interest?? Those poor desperate bastards!
  7. WHAT?!? NOONE WANTS CUTLER?!?!?
  8. On the one hand I think it's too bad that we had to lose another iconic player. And one that chose us over going to Seattle. If only he'd have chosen them he'd have had a SB ring by now. I think he chose Chicago for mostly personal reasons. But on the other hand I'm way glad they were able to make a reasonable deal for him. I like Acho a lot more in the position. You have to think there wasn't much left from Jared. He Wasnt voted a team captain which kinda surprised me. What with being with the team last year you would've thought he'd have been a majority choice. He unfortunately hasn't had much luck playing on very good teams over his career. Maybe thing will go better for him in Carolina. Bear Trap if you're reading this please wish he and his family all our best. And thank him for stopping by Chicago on his way to the HOF.
  9. That was definitely something Coughlin commented about. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/02...nts_him_ba.html
  10. I'd be ok with seeing what Fales has to offer. And since when is it ok for your QB to turnover the ball? Sad that you think that's acceptable.
  11. Who you kidding? The game MIGHT have been closer but undoubtedly Jay would've turned it over. History...
  12. Because Chancellor is now back in Seattle. Worth a look?
  13. A little early for Lagavullin isn't it? ?
  14. I'm sorry but im probably going to regret doing this... How do you come up with stats like that? I mean what is the formula? Is this something one of you guys ghost wrote? Wait, where's Jason? We have gone back and forth over various stats over the years and almost every time the opposite side says "stats are only so good" as what you want them to say and how you interpret them etc etc... For example, how many times have most of said Cutler did well two years ago under Trestmans offense partly due to an intact Oline (played most of the season together). Yet according to the above stats that was one of the lesser favorable statistical years. And talking about Rodgers; how is it his Oline "overall" did well when I know he's been said to have been sacked more times in some years than has Cutler. A fact most of you didn't dispute, but instead offered that Rodgers was quite simply a better player. These stats seem off to me.
  15. Now you're on to it. Yes the mistakes are forgiven or forgotton... whatever you want to say.... if you are able to win games. Yes Eli is not consistent BUT he's gone to and won 2 SBs. Cutler is not consistent and gone to 0 SBs. Yes Andrew Luck is now and has thrown INTs. He's played what is it 3 years and gone to the playoffs twice. Cutler's played 10 years and brought our team to the playoffs once. If I may borrow a phrase from the departed Al Davis all I can say is "Just win baby!"
  16. You know what's weird about it is that you almost have to be Carnac in order to get it absolutely right. Take us as an example. Carimi and Williams were touted as first round talent and 'can't miss' opportunities from the supposed experts. Yet Long, who only played what was it two years in college was one "they" were VERY cautiously optimistic about.
  17. I don't know that I'd call Stafford "model", but he has managed to do well with a pretty weak cast. Over his time with the team the only real standout players being Megatron and Suh. I could make the case that since joining the league in 2009 he's thrown for no less than 4000 yards since 2011, been named to two Pro Bowls (once as an alternate) and had his team into the playoffs twice. Rivers has been named to the Pro Bowl 5 times and had his team in the playoffs at least twice maybe three? And Eli, we'll all he's done is beat the Patriots twice to win two Super Bowls. All of which is better than what our QB has given us.
  18. I'd have to disagree with the word usage in your first sentence. Should read "all/most" as he was the thrower, not the receiver. Anyhow, I would be willing to agree to some level that Cutler has not had all the support he's needed at all levels to succeed every year. Somewhere along the way, one element or the other has managed to not shine and give him the chance to shine. The team has tried however to correct this and give him that crutch. Whether it be signing former Pro Bowl linemen (Pace, Bushrod) to getting more weapons as RB's (Taylor, Barber), or WR's (Marshall, Royal, Jeffery, Muhammad?) to hiring 'preferred' coordinators (Trestman, Bates and Gase) a few managers have tried. For some reason or the other something inevitably goes wrong. But then again; players like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers and a few others still manage some modicum of consistency and success despite some of the lack of support they might have. It's like Mad said in another post, Jay will get going on a roll and play really well for a game maybe two then BAM, he goes from Dr Jekyll to Mr Hyde. It's not necessarily as reliable as clockwork but damn close. And when I say 'good play' I'm suggesting when he was in Martz' offense and last year's offense with Trestman. Just two games into Gase's system he looked overall good, but again reverted to the Cutler of old in both games. This inconsistency on his being consistently good is on him...not everyone else.
  19. Careful Mad, they're going to lump you with me. Im gradually working my way towards Terra level egregiousness. ?
  20. I've got 127 million reasons why he should be critiqued. I'm sorry if you think he's mistreated. I'd be willing to be ridiculed the rest of my life for that money. (Heck I do it here for a lot less). If he doesn't like it yes he should demand the trade. Since his wife doesn't like living in Chicago anyhow maybe it would be for the best?
  21. Something tells me well both need to stock up on our "elixers" of choice in order to cope.
  22. WOW Amazing, never considered it. You're right my mind is flippin blown. All this time it was Martellus Bennett that caused Jay to throw all those INTs and lose those fumbles. Why didn't I see it? Thank you guys for pointing that out. Ok, I'll stop looking for Cutler to screw up. Thank you for setting me straight.
