  1. Was just going to comment on this. First Justin audibles out at least once during that last drive and that pass to Johnson was definitely not his first read. Scripted or not, Justin showed effective adaptability during that drive.
  2. How about those throws from JF1? In adverse conditions no less. THATS the way to do it Justin.
  3. Out of the gate they had the D on its heels. Heineke isn’t a shabby QB so the guys will need to be on their game. He’s not one that can be rushed as much as Flacco or Goff but can get rattled.
  4. Time for Scott to shine. Whatever happened to ESB? He still on the team?
  5. Although a bit of a retread, I’ve been hearing hype for Darrell Bevel.
  6. I saw someone else post that Eberflus said he wasn’t sure whether Fields would be the starter next year. Haven’t been able to find that but that could be a telling indicator of things to come…if it were true.
  7. On the contrary. If there are guys out there that think they can do something with Fields why wouldn’t they want to try and prove themselves? Similar to how Bienemy chose to change to Wash to try and shine on his own. There’s a slew of potential wanna-bes out there. Kevin Patullo: current QB /Passing Coord for the Eagles. Credited with some of the success for Hurts. Also familiar with Ian Cunningham. Zac Robinson: same job as Patullo but with the Rams. Has been working under McVay for the last few years and if anything, those affiliated with McVay have shown success as of late (Matt Lafluer, Mike McDaniel and Kyle Shannahan among them). Tanner Engstrand: also the same gig as the previous two but with the Lions. Technically next in line if Ben Johnson gets snagged as an HC elsewhere.
  8. I believe what you’re referring to are some of the intangibles that don’t show up in the box score. If the locker room (including the GM) are seeing more than we are then I’m pretty sure the decision has already been made what will happen next year. Those of us talking about what we think is best and the so called “experts” really won’t matter at the end of the day.
  9. In the game against Denver Fields had 335 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT in a loss. What happened to being able to carry a team on their back and will them to a win? ??‍♂️
  10. You’re totally dismissing who Caleb Williams has beaten (San Jose State, Nevada, Az State) and lost to (Wash, Oregon, UCLA and Utah). In fact in his last 5 games his record is 1-4. And he skipped out of the aforementioned bowl game. Sure he looks “calm” under fire, who has he played against when he allegedly looks calm? Compare that to Justin’s collegiate record and tell me who the better prospect is based on that alone.
  11. This is eerily a Tua vs Hurts redux but in a shorter span. So now the question is, does Williams jump to the NFL now with his backup doing what he did? AGAINST A RANKED TEAM? Or stick around another year and risk a) losing his starting gig and b) going down in draft status? Can he still enter the transfer portal? He already dropped out of Heisman contention this year due to his lack of production against better teams and what appeared to be meltdowns post game(s). This guys’ stock is tumbling fast. Maybe he’s worth a 2nd round? Maybe? ?
  12. I’m legitimately curious why you think that. You mean against NFL competition? If so, how?
  13. Despite suspending him twice (?) this year and rescinding an earlier offer of ~$12 million, Michigan is back offering Jim a 10 year $125 million deal (with one caveat). He ain’t comin to Chicago . As an aside, saw a bunch of the Michigan players here in LA (and a few ‘Bama players and staff) while they prep for the Rose Bowl in a few days.
  14. If this is accurate, Lovie was making $5 million per year and that was how many years ago? So in you look at the “business aspect” of it, they aren’t paying a kings ransom for him to coach. This post courtesy of the Palace Bar and about six drinks!
  15. To borrow a quote from the late Dennis Greene, to crown CJ Stroud’s ass right now might be a little immature. His team is only one (or two) game(s) ahead of Chicago and he hasn’t played in the last two (??) games. Before that he threw for a total of 91 yards to the NYJ. To further exacerbate the conversation of bust drafts, the one thing I’d prefer to avoid is become the next iteration of the Browns. Since 1999 they’ve drafted 5 QBs (two as 1st overalls) and have nothing to show for it. The guy they’re stumbling into the playoffs with is a nearly 40 year old former 1st round pick who until a few weeks ago was sitting on a couch somewhere.
  16. To be fair he’s also being injured for the last number of weeks. Surprising given he’s a more pocket passer. (Yes that’s me being a little cynical).
  17. If you ask me, option A. And what about Mahomes? What the heck is going on with him? He’s had at least one INT in each of the last four games. And had a 73.6 rating today against the lowly Raiders.
  18. Yup. And the unknowns of how that translates to the NFL is concerning. I personally don’t have any confidence that either Maye nor Williams are “it”.
  19. That’s the ticket right there. Merry Christmas guys! Hope all you have an awesome day.
  20. Yep. We would agree that raw stats are objective but people use them subjectively to support their point. I won’t even touch the topic of politics. This post brought to you courtesy of Legado Whisky . ?
  21. And again we go back to players like Hurts, Jackson and Mahomes who make a career out of unconventional plays. Yet the critique is lacking. What’s the difference between them all?
  22. His detractors want perfection. And some use stats to make their point. A lot of times stats can be used subjectively. Today, for example, if the Bears lean on the run game because AZ isn’t a great defense then it draws away from Fields’ opportunities to throw the ball. The Field supporters could make a counter argument that he hasn’t been given an ideal situation to thrive in.
