  1. Man you and Cracker are in rare form! I am very nearly laughing my ass off!!!
  2. Because I thought "BS" when I saw this and I am not a fan of Williams', I looked up comparative stats. So to put into perspective: Urlacher's stats for 2012(his last year): Games played - 12. Combined tackles - 68. Tackles - 53. sacks - 0 Williams stats for 2013: (what should have been his last year as a Bear): Games played - 6 Combined tackles - 27. Tackles19 and 2 Sacks. So in half as many games played Williams did not count half the tackles Urlacher did. The only thing he had on Brian was the 2 sacks. And for what it's worth Williams has not had a complete season since 2010. In all of Urlacher's career he totaled 3 incomplete years. Re-signing Williams was a mistake more so than not re-signing Hester.
  3. Not bad. Know I couldn't do it. Probably will have to get Admins to vote on it as they are sorta the "founding fathers" of the site.
  4. I tried to post a poll with three choices. Them being: 1) Old school (Butkus, GSH, Payton, Sayers etc) 2) New School (AJ, BM, Forte, Cutler etc) 3) Bearstalk users (Cracker, Connor, Daventry, SCS, MadLith etc) Then option 4... Which is what ended up showing up on the post.
  5. Have to say I agree with most of what you said. I agree, similar to the loss of Urlacher last year affecting the D, Hester's loss will affect the ST. However I think what we don't know about this new C. Williams kid could pay off both in ST and on offense. Not something Hester could offer any longer. But in the end he's playing for Atlanta now so on we go.. Keep up the dynamic dialogue with Cracker, I always laugh when you guys go back and forth.
  6. Or last but not least... "Don't care" I think something with TerraTor in it would be amusing. Or Stinger and SCS in an embrace would be cute. edit: ok it's apparent I have no idea how to do a poll.
  7. Not sure. Been there since the site started I think. Maybe Brian? Maybe a poll on what to put up there?
  8. Didn't he (Allen) sign a deal with Seattle? I know he went there for a second visit...which isn't good.
  9. Yeah but then we'll have to change it again in about five years or so.... Maybe not such a bad thing. Dang whippersnappers.
  10. Sorta unrelated to your question but still Bears..... So now that Devin is gone, who changes the banner for the site? I think Brian (?) was asking about this a year or so ago but nothing happened. My thought at the time would be to do something 'old school' with pics of historic players; Butkus, GSH, Payton, Sayers, Luckman...etc
  11. Before you know it we'll be watching holograms running around the field that really doesn't exist.....wait a minute, don't we already do that? Madden figured it out years ago.
  12. I chose "other". I prefer to 'view' it with my eyes. But I think Outline is the format I read it in...or is it? I can't tell the advantage of one over the other. Isn't outline the 'default' setting?
  13. I think Dallas is much more desperate than Chicago at this point especially after inexplicably releasing Ware. Bringing Melton in adds a little luster (former pro-bowler, younger and local) to an otherwise ticked off fan base. I personally don't think he'll last all that long with his knee. I wish the best for him. * EDIT: Jared Allen anyone?
  14. Izzy was one of those reliable players whose motor was always running. I agree that he was misused in Detroit and will be a big add in more than just his position. Will contribute heavily to the veteran leadership as this defense works on its new identity. If for nothing else he's a 'good guy' Here he is coming out of the "Polar Plunge" for Special Olympics recently held in Chicago. Also pictured is Jimmy Fallon (right).
  15. My opinion, for what its worth, no. This appears to be more a civil issue now and from what others have pointed out there are many others out there with felonious backgrounds that have been signed and get re-signed regardless. The fact that this incident appears to have gone straight to civil court means that the authority that was going to prosecute chose not to. And since both Melton's camp and the bar's side have counter-sued one another probably doesn't mean a hill of beans when it comes to negotiations. I think what does matter is his knee injury and his expectation for more money. But that's just me speaking.
  16. And a trusted player for Jay (from their Vandy days).
  17. "I've been really tryin , baby Tryin to hold back these feelings for so long And if you feel, like I feel baby Come on, oh come on..." Dedicated to Stinger and SCS
  18. Agreed. I have a suspicion his knee is still an issue.
  19. Apparently he's back home in Dallas with no deal from Seattle. But "several teams" are interested and he may not make the scheduled meeting with Dallas tomorrow. *I like (and agree) with the comments from the third guy down in the comments section (minus the bar part). http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2014/03/...ral-teams.html/
  20. They did make the comparison of doing this when they signed Chalres Woodson. Problem is Woodson and Peppers are not the same person nor played the same position. Talk about "apples to oranges".
  21. Two things I noticed, they only commented on the two DE signings for Chicago. And the third favorite listed moves were made by Lovie in TB.
  22. Well if the oline is as great as it was last year it's a moot point.
  23. Wow, talk about OLD school! I appreciate the nostalgia connections and am glad that Peanut was able to come back. Since Chicago has a long and rich history of defense and last year was so long ago (prophetically speaking) I found myself uncomfortable at the thought of losing a player like Tillman. He's one of the last from recent history that defines that culture. Hopefully this will be the year for his Super Bowl win and decision to retire a Bear or make another attempt at a repeat championship run.
  24. Revis signed with NE. Does this mean Peanut will become a Buc?
