Agreed. If he still isn't doing anything come about week 10-12 then maybe the discussion is warranted. For now, and especially with the loss of Melton, WAY too early.
-
Right now Ndamakong Suh is saying to himself; 'So Cutler won't slide out of the pocket eh?'.

Sorry I know Bleacher Report isn't a "source" but saw this article and smiled at remembering the play. Don't do it again Jay. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/17837...n=chicago-bears

Whew.... Was afraid I actually had jinxed the Bengals buy they managed to pull it off. Nice work guys.

I take it back... Someone delete this thread!

Up 14-0 in the first 5 mins! Go Bengals!!!

Hmmm, well I'm married to one...but that doesn't count. I should have had her take some pics last night. She went to a bachellorette party. But overall, yeah there is a decent representation of good looking ladies up here. It's not Arizona, Texas or Cali but it holds its own.

You may want to check in as this game is in the early evening I'll have a chance at libations. I have a feeling I'll come back to vent and say most of what you wrote below. There is a possibility that a few of my buds that are Steelers fans (yes we have those here too) will be around so I'll be especially lit.

Do I lose my Bear fan membership if I feel a loss is in the air? By three?

I'll be the first to tell you that I don't know a lot about how contracts work and all that jazz but from a layman's perspective here are my intial thoughts. I always believe you pay premium for skill and proven players. By "skill" I mean; QB, RB, WR, CB and Safety. Proven players are players who are veteran and have been solid/consistent performers. If those players are on your team, you take care of them. That being said if the draft were today....or based off the first two weeks of the season....I would probably go CB (Tillman's getting old), RB (unless Ford shows something special), QB? or WR (Marshall is suddenly showing wear and tear - back problems today), and maybe DT/DE. Although the team just drafted a few and I would be curious to see how they pan out. Obviously the big problem right now is that its only been two weeks and way too much season is left to make a strong determination. Will the team resigh Jay? If not then QB goes up in priority. What if Forte gets hurt real bad, what if Marshall comes and goes because of injury. What if Melton picks up the pace and Jay stinks? Should the team pay for Melton and not Cutler? Way too many 'what ifs' this early in the year.

Hmmm, maybe I'll sit him.... Hold on! I play you this weekend! It may be "desolate" up here, but I wasn't born yesterday.
-
Sure. Dang look alike unis. I knew that and forgot. Anyhow, injuries are injuries.
-
What about Paea? He's holding his own. Should help in not putting a premium on DT. Especially if Melton comes around.

I was thinking back when AP played for A&M and recall he had an issue with injuries for most of his career. Because I couldn't recall specifics I checked out Wikipedia, here's a synopsis of what I found: Freshman: Dislocated shoulder. Had surgery at end of season to strengthen the shoudler Sophomore: High ankle sprain. We all know how those malinger and according to Wikipedia, missed the first 4 games but still rushed for over 1,000 yds that season Junior: Broken collar bone where he was unable to play in seven games. He passed on his Senior year to go into the draft. Where he became the player we know today. Of course we all are aware of his more recent ACL/MCL tear. What might be mistaken in this case are pain tolerance and injury plagued. Although an arguement could be made that AP has been "oft injured" he certainly plays through it more than many other players would. Sweetness probably suffered from a lot more injury than he cared to admit. With his running style he had to be hurting more than he would own up to. AP is the same way. TRich may not have that level of tolerance. Time will tell.

This x2. I'm still not drinking no stinking Kool Aid....not yet. It'll cloud my judgement.

Haha....and to think I may have started it with my question to Brian. But I'm especially convinced now that Weems wasn't thinking about all this when he went for the ball. Trestman couldn't even stand on the rule when asked. It takes our "Mike Perreira" (Jason) to discern the rules, and he is still challenged. Kinda funny...whodathunk?

Wasn't/isn't AP in this category?

Well, I saw this and was shocked. I have him on this sites' Fantasy Keeper league. I think in that regard it will help. But enough about me. Indy is sitting pretty, IMHO, because they have Luck (who has a ton of upside), Wayne (who is still good at his age) and now Richardson (who equally has a lot to offer in the years to come). I would be remiss in predicting these guys as Dynasty Contenders if managed properly. I will be sending my congrats to my folks who currently live in Indy. Cleveland is Cleveland. Like TD said, their season was done before it started. They are looking at re-building and not waiting to see how this season is going to pan out. Like the hiring of Trestman only time will tell on whether it works out to the positive. They have a trove of draft picks they can use to stock up in key places so again, if done right they could be future contenders. Which brings a question to mind. Apparenlty with the "previous regime" talk in Cleveland, suddenly I see Weeden has become expendable too. Could he be a potential backup to Cutler with hopes of taking over one day? Especially if Trestman proves to be the QB whisperer everyone claims him to be? I don't know a lot about him other than age could be his enemy.
-
Sooooo....about those Cutler 4th quarter heroics? Who knew this was going to turn into such a head scratcher? LOL!!!
-
Damned Kool Aid drinker!!!!
-
Not sure if this is the same article I was reading where Bennett learned that Trestman referred to him as "Rain Man" and Cutler had to explain to Bennett that it was the ultimate compliment. That was hilarious.
-
So I was reading through some FF news and saw that Chuck Pagano was going to utilize the "newly acquired" Trent Richardson in the lineup for the Colts. WTF? When did that happen? Being he's on my Fantasy team I'm very interested as to why Cleveland would do that? And maybe happy because Pagano will probably use him correctly(?)

I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. But your analogy is pretty much spot on. The question I have is if Weems grabs it, and it has been pushed back into the field of play then its still a live ball. Even though the opposing team 'touched' the ball, it was while he was in the air. Hence why they jump to put it back into the 'live' field. That being the case, if one of their players touches it, its down. If weems touches it and then drops it, its their ball. And if it rolls into the endzone and they fall on it, a score for them....right? Perhaps we've over analyzed this because now my head hurts.
-
But the way he was headed, and I think his true intent, was to keep the ball in the field of play (he was in the neighborhood of the 2 or 3 yard line when touched by him). I read somewhere that he even considered doing a lateral. Had he picked it up and dropped it, a high probability with as many opponents as were in the area, I would believe they would have gotten the ball somewhere in that area, with a new set of downs....right? Just too risky in my book...regardliess of his thoughts.
-
You can't believe that Weems actually meant to push the ball out the back of the endzone? Or at least hope it would go that way? He had every intent on trying to return that ball, he'd be lying if he said otherwise.
