And funny that you should say that. As I was posting that I was just thinking how "sick" I'm getting of some of you actually hoping for the team to fail. Just to get rid of Lovie. I don't know how you can consider yourself a fan with that way of thinking. THAT, to me, is pathetic.
-
YOU can only hope. Keep the bad vibes coming.
-
So you've "pulled the plug" on the season. There are some here who still hope. Sorry that you are so fair weather.

Capers failed not once but twice as an HC. Different than Carroll* and Belichick. *I would caution to compare Carroll and Belichick in same sentence. And speaking on "coming from winning organizations" and sticking with the Bellichick pedigree. How are Romeo Crennel, Josh Daniels and Charlie Weis doing these days?
-
You call yourself a fan with this sort of talk? Sad.
-
+++.
-
No. Look at Capers in Carolina and Houston. Greene is a punk POS. And they both stink of GB.
-
I'd like to see what they were going to do with Gurode. I'm intrigued by his signing. *edit* never mind, found out he was waived at beginning of month, oh well

Simply put, I'd have a hard time sticking with Lovie for .500 or less this season. ANYTHING above that would need to be considered. Example: if the team comes out flat for the final two games of the regular season (regardless of wins or not) I would be hard pressed to support Lovie. If they go in as barn burners and excel these last two games (and make the playoffs) I would hard pressed NOT to keep him.

I have ranted a few times about his lack of maturity. One time in his causing the team to have to use a timeout to get his shoe on and the another time when he lost his shoe during a game because, I'm sure, he didn't tie his shoe. In fact it eventually caused another timeout as Cutler had to tie his shoe for him and Cutler didn't have enough time to get the play together. So two times for a damn shoe issue? My 8 year old kid has more sense than that. Give him velcro shoes for pete's sake!

I would be curious to see where the Bears offense ranked during its existence. But would be satisfied just to see how they stack up since '85. I did notice they have had 11 (not counting this year) winning seasons since then. That in and of itself is telling.
-
Even though I'm still one of the last Lovie supporters, I can see the writing on the wall. As much as I would like for Lovie to turn it around and go one more year, I don't think it will happen. My thought on the matter is how about someone like Tom Moore? Currently of Tennessee Titans formerly of Indy Colts noteriety? He's an OC and has "been there, done that".

Thank you and couldn't agree more. Well said.

So are we still doing the "back and forth" or will this be it? Simply put, are you on the team? Unless you're playing for the 2012 Bears, you are an outsider. His frustration is equally postioned on how he feels at the moment and how he feels from his time in Chicago. Is his commentary pragmatic or simply emotional? Probably the latter. *Edit* The original point was of this whole post and how I see it as an overreaction on your part. Because he said this, you would just as soon write "Goodbye Brian" because he said it. And why I suggest it is "sad or pathetic" is because you might actually mean that. I'm not that dismissive of him as a player and what he's produced for us, the fans.

See below. Maybe he didn't use the word "stupid" but believe the message was similar. http://www.thebiglead.com/index.php/2012/1...rce=top-modules

Nope. Good for you in letting him know you care. If you are not getting what I am saying about camaraderie, then I can't explain it to you. This, we agree on. I don't agree that it was "dumb". You do. I do agree that I will boo if he or the team does do bad. In fact, be blind to how badly the refs can call a game because if the roles were reversed, I would be ok with how they called the game. That is my level of dedication to the team. I am a spectator. If Urlacher were to personally call me an "a**hole" because he didn't like me booing, would I throw my kids' Urlacher jerseys in the trash? Nope, not even consider it. Now I admit he is not of the same character or class that Payton was but neither was Butkus. Yet I respect them just the same. If you don't like Urlacher's "flippant" remarks, sorry to hear it.
-
Nope, didn't mean any disrespect. I myself spent 21 years in the Navy. My dad was in Viet Nam (mom served as Navy Nurse during the same time), both my grandfathers served in WWII. Heck I've even got roots to a Captain in the Union Army during the Civil War. I understand and appreciate all that you and they have done. The comparison I am making is the thankless attitiude expressed by some here in regards to the investment like a person Urlacher has made in the team we all "love". Similar to what you illustrated. I think it easy for an "outsider" (as some here are) to grade the reaction that a player like Urlacher is/was on his reaction to fans is sad...in some cases, pathetic. The "ties that bind" I refer to are similar in regards to playing in a game where people get hurt and have heard that the commanaility is that of combat veterans where you know you can trust the guy next to you moreso the guy that isn't. That was the only comparison being made. And when someone from outside says that you aren't cutting the mustard to their expectation, then "f*ck em". In my mind, its acceptable for that player to feel that way. To you, I apologize if the analogy I made offended you. Instead the comparison I will make is this. A guy and his brother are walking down the street and some other guy (dude #3) calls one brother a deragortory term. The other brother might take exception, maybe even kick dude #3's backside. But when they get home, brother #2 calls brother #1 the same deragotory term. At home, its all good. To you sir, thank you for your service. And I am truly appreciative of the sacrifice involved and sorry that you haven't gotten back what you put in.
-
What you are doing is parsing words. Because if Urlacher had said what you suggested he'd be exposing himself as racist. Not quite the same here. Poor example. He plays a violent game that we are all paying him (indirectly I might point out) to play. He has invested a large portion of his life to the sport and a large part to this team. He has been "in the trenches" with most of the guys on the team, similar to what combat soldiers experience. What did you do for him when his Mom died a few years ago? Charter a plane to attend her funeral? He plays the game, we PAY to watch. If he doesn't like the fact you or I boo him, live with it. If he comes back next year I'll cheer him on just like I have the last several years.
-
And I think that is how this all started. He essentially said what you said and told you (and those that boo the team) to stick it. He didnt like you or they booing, you don't like what he had to say. As selection points out, it takes a heck a lot more for a player to say it then a fan to type it.
-
I know and understand the sense of entitlement. I understand it, but don't appreciate it. If you are so upset with how the team is performing and don't like what Urlacher has to say. Don't pay to watch the game. All you're doing is enabling it. I think Mad Lith suggested a "protest" of sorts to express the displeasure expressed by many here. Is Urlacher not as justified to "call it like he sees it"? It's not like he hasn't spent his career with a team for which he is as discouraged as you are by him saying so. Just because you pay to watch him perform means you have more right than he to express your grief? The guy's a dedicated player to his team just like you (or I) are a dedicated fan. Hes pissed, you're pissed...we all are. Just because you think he should go doesn't mean he should. Do you not feel the same way about Cutler? He's called them (fans) out twice this year but I have'nt heard you say anything about his ouster.

Bravely said from the comfort of the couch in the living room.

Precisely. So if they are going to call three OPI on one guy because he stepped over the line from "chicken fighting" then how in all that is sane do they miss a blatant call against the same defender with the same receiver literally minutes later? It is totally inexcusable. If the officials were so diligent to begin with they should have been throughout. Sorry but the guy is in the Hall of Fame and that sadly does mean something. Hes played the game of QB and does understand the game probably better than most of those refs. The hit from Peppers on Rodgers was a prime example. Aikman will almost always come to the defense of QBs on calls like that and he was the first to say he didn't like the call. Again and as before if that was so "bad" a hit why (like someone else posted yesterday) half the hits on Cutler that look like that not called? Let alone a simple hand to the face early in the game. As Aikman correctly pointed out, the job of the referee in that particular interest (Raji hit on Cutler) is to be watching the QB and he failed. Bottom line, the officiating yesterday was deplorable. Even a good friend of mine from GB agreed.

Wow are the refs helping the Fudgers or what?
-
I'm sorry but F*ck the Packers!!!! That was a play of pure arrogance.

Go for the FG everyone wants that!!!!
