  1. Unfortuntely this piece of trash (Pearlman) is successful for the same reason the National Enquirer is. Thanks for the insight.
  2. Thanks for the link to our earlier conversations. I forgot how eloquent you can be. And rather than re-tackle this point by point, I'll try and clarify a few points then be done with it.
  3. ...and to add more to the help of Williams and as was mentioned earlier, he was hurt earlier in the year. And throw in the fact that Jay hasn't had a lot of opportunity to really throw to ANYone probably doesn't help. After the last game it would appear both are improving. At least I hope.
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2975485.story Don't like that this is going on. At this point I'll say getting rid of Angelo, Martz and paying Forte are the Bears priorities. Even before signing a WR or OL
  5. I would hope that Cutler, still the future of the franchise on offense, would have some say in this. He knows a little about Royal and a bit more about Marshall and their tendencies. I would like to think that, especially what is on the horizon (Martz leaving???) that they would listen more to Jay about this. And I think something in the 2nd or 3rd (maybe Harris too) for Marshall and/or something less for Royal could be done. Not sure that Royal would be the "same" as Hester or Knox. Only because Hester is not a "true" WR and Knox has got less time on the field. Again the key being Cutlers familiarity with him giving the edge.
  6. Was watching the replay this morning and heard this too. Could've swore it sounded like Jay was expressing his displeasure. Or was it that little Harry Potter looking troll that is always following him around when the O is off the field? Either way I feel Martz' days are numbered in Chicago. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/89782...day-night-video
  7. I agree somewhat that Harris should be upset about what transpired. But at the same time he should use that frustration towards bettering himself and improving. Whether it be to get better after being injured or just in general. How many Pro Bowls has Chris been to? I know Meriweather has been to two and with all his faults and despite being benched, haven't heard him complain about it. Maybe this would be an opportune time for the Bears to make good at getting a player along the lines of OL or WR? I know Lloyd is still out there as is possibly R. Wayne. Think it safe to assume that Indy could use all the help it can get at Defense. Sorry Chris, as much I like your play this isn't the way to deal with adversity. Good luck in wherever this leads.
  8. Here's my quick take. The line will handle Allen and his aspiring sack total. (the benching of Omiyale is a significant impact). I am concerned with the D-line now that both Peppers and Toenia are out. Holding my thoughts on the safety combo at this point. Not sure Mc Nabb will be able to challenge them a whole lot. Bears 17 / Vikings 14
  9. I think it safe to assume that Cutler would be pleased to have ANY receiver he likes playing on the team. There really is no secret he has taken a liking to Bennett and in the interim, Sanzenbacher. Previously he liked Aromashadu and unfortunately that never worked out. You're right that he would be beside himself with Marshall coming in but probably equally pleased if someone like Wayne were to sign. And I wouldnt negate that Wayne wouldn't at least consider Chicago. Especially with all the uncertainty in Indy. Ultimately though, I would hedge a bet that at this point Jay would like the ability to be able to throw without duress. That means someone that can block for him.
  10. Get 'ER done!!! AFTER you pay Forte
  11. I believe I was good with letting go both Jerry Angelo and Mike Martz. And at this point, unless there is something he is doing for the betterment of the team, let Ruskell walk too.
  12. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8231...o-bowl-wr-lloyd Is this a player that possesses the "talent" many of you describe? I recall him playing in Chicago before. Dude catches just about everything thrown his way.
  13. I haven't decided where to post this, whether it be an original or off of someone else's. After reading a few here I feel this is as good place as any. I agree that last Monday was an embarrassment. I believe that the players (Urlacher as an example) said so as well. What is it that ails the Bears? It could be a combination of many things or as simple as one. But is it enough to declare a "do-over" and rebuild from the ground up? Do the Bears need to wholesale change top to bottom and rebuild? The answer is no. These Bears are not the Lions of the last number of decades. They are not the Buccaneers of old or even the Bengals of current. They are, perhaps, having an identity crisis. You know my stand about the ownership and that should not change, nor should it be for us (the fans) to decide upon. It is not democracy, that job is a right and a privilege. The things that could and should change are the personnel below that level. I don't have a problem with someone like Angelo leaving. It would appear that he is inept at evaluating and picking young and raw talent. He has done better at more seasoned talent (Cutler, Peppers etc), but not as much as cultivating whats around them. Another one that I could see go is Martz. I once held out hope that he could implement something new and exciting for this team. But he too has shown that he refuses to use what he has been given and work with them. Not sure what kind of conversation he's had with Tice regarding protection for Cutler...if any, but it looks like there hasn't been any type of tangible agreement. With Martz I see the Bears experiencing that identity issue I brought up earlier. He seems to want for a revive of his "greatest show on turf" but Chicago isn't built for that. Never has, never will. Cutler is a very capable Quarterback, but not in the scheme that is being used. At least not the way its set up. Lastly, Lovie needs to stay. The reason I believe this is that the players believe in him. I don't know how many times I have heard players (current or otherwise) that continue to come to his defense. The fact that PLAYERS do this, means a heck of a lot more than FANS who continuously call for his head when the team begins its slide. So what needs to be done instead? Well for starters, get some talent. Use the money available and find some FA's to fill the roles. Stop making excuses and do it. Give Forte his money. Stop waiting for whatever it is you are waiting for and pay him his due. Angelo, if you have any hope of keeping your job do these rather simple tasks and you will go a long way to relevance. Let Martz go and replace him with Toub. I have enough confidence (as does ownership) in Toub at this point that I would like to see what it is he could do at a higher calling. In fact it needs to be done before someone else figures it out.

  15. http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3360/chris-harris This is good news
  16. One has nothing to do with the other...in those terms. The point had to do with spending money. More a principle issue.
  17. And we have to be honest with ourselves, the Lions should have won that first game last year in Chicago. Megaton was cheated on a TD. And that sometimes is enough motivation in and of itself. I'm concerned. I am placated in knowing Harris will be back. Hopefully Meriweather will start alongside him to aid in deep coverage. The key will be getting to Stafford and stopping Johnson from catching... Anything. I feel the Bears offense will be mediocre. And it will be enough as the Defense plays up.
  18. Ok...good point. I'll return to my regular positive way of thinking.
  19. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4087922.story Max Komar??? IR??? Practice Squad??? WTF? I'm sorry I'm usually not this critical but are you joking? You have a guy that is playing his mind out (Forte) and is still waiting to get a decent contract... Despite it and the team is once again leading in sacks (gotten) and you sign a FA, currently IR practice squad guy? Angelo you are a baffooon.
  20. Hmmmm.... Interesting for sure. The only problem is that im not sure Williams could even "match up" that well with Johnson. On the other hand we know he can knock down passes pretty well. Heck the Bears have a former DB playing WR so why not?
  21. Im not sure what was on the video as I can't get it to play. But the Lions are a team to be concerned with. Not sure of the "hype" but I'm starting to think they could be pretty legit. With players like Johnson, Stafford, Pettigrew, Best, Raiola, Fairley, Suh and Tulluch they certainly have been doing some pretty sound building. I had thought they were about another year from doing real well but now loom large in the division. They will be looking to put on a good show next Monday at the Bears expense. Will the Bears prevail? Perhaps but they will definitely know they played a game.
  22. In the link are two videos. In case you missed them yesterday. Both are either players just having fun or... (in the case of an historic return) "illegal celebration". You decide. Nice work fellas. http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2011/10/03...rces=topbuttons
