  1. Under the radar signing last week(?) of former Eagles LB Davion Taylor. Former Steelers LB and recently acquired Bears LB Buddy Johnson was released on an injury deal. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/bears-sign-lb-davion-taylor-waive-lb-buddy-johnson
  2. Appears Gipson may be seeking a trade outta ChiTown. https://x.com/jfowlerespn/status/1695490272338006180?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  3. Ha. I was watching it on NFL Network live (I have YouTubeTV) when about halfway through the broadcast it told me my free preview for Sunday Ticket was over. It flashes the cost of the new season for the Ticket and my wife looks at me…’you know you’re gonna get it, go ahead.’ She’s a good better half. Lol.
  4. My mistake. Turns out it is on Sunday Ticket.
  5. I show it’s supposed to be on NFL Network and maybe Fox(?).
  6. The discussion about Chris Jones has been percolating just below the surface for awhile. Now ESPN is confirming there’s been a “discussion”. Im honestly not sure what I think of it. https://x.com/nflnotify/status/1695187679850418266?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  7. To be clear, the same (or very similar) freak issues can come from actually contracting COVID itself. As do a lot of other things for that matter. ??‍♂️
  8. A huge reason he went undrafted was probably because he was DII. I have to think that players like Wentz and Lance (coming from FCS school ND State) are putting a collective bad taste in the mouths of scouts. They may have been a bit gun shy about a guy who played for the Shepard Rams. As far as production, look no further than the competition he played against. Nowhere on his collegiate record does he show wins against Alabama, LSU, Georgia or even Nebraska. And so far his single outing was against a group of 2nd and 3rd string hopefuls that he had practiced against for most of the week prior. This is not to say he couldn’t be the Mozart of football or even the next Brock Purdy. I agree with you that he sure looked good in his debut and I hope that it transfers to a long and reputable career in the NFL (as a Bears QB). I’m just holding back my excitement a bit longer. Especially since we have Justin Fields still on the team.
  9. “Preseason is meaningless…” unless the players start getting hurt. Was half tempted to start a thread on injured players as the list seems to be growing each day . This time it’s Kmet. https://x.com/nicholasmoreano/status/1694423013364539557?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  10. So is this fair? ??‍♂️. Still interesting to see.
  11. Happened upon this on a different social media platform. For those of you bourbon types out there, specifically Maker’s Mark. https://bourbonhuntusa.com/products/maker-s-mark-chicago-cubs-limited-edition-2023
  12. Been seeing talk of people wanting the Bears to sign current FA OG Dalton Risner. Previously a 4 year starter with Denver. And one year teammate with Whitehair while both at Kansas State. That season Risner played Center and Whitehair at Tackle. To sign a a player like Risner this late would seem like a desperation move IMHO. https://x.com/maxmarkhamnfl/status/1693508289928319055?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  13. Yeah that was my takeaway too. I was hoping that Walker would be more of a Fields like player and be the primary backup, but after Bagent’s performance this last week it would appear he’s making the case. And oddly enough he seems more a pure pocket passer than Justin does . But again I have to limit my expectations due to Bagent playing against 2nd and 3rd stringer defenses. Maybe he gets more time this coming weekend to get more “tape” but for now he’s making a compelling case to at least be on the 53-man .
  14. Much chatter confirming same on Xitter. Some speculate Jenkins could be out for up to 6 weeks. In comes Leatherwood to prove himself and I suspect we’ll see some of recent waiver acquisition Logan Stenberg. If after this next preseason game (or before) the Bears make another move for IOL then there’s still some decisions being made. Meanwhile… https://x.com/imbearingdown/status/1693483896493511008?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ https://x.com/eriklambert1/status/1693384174269264290?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  15. Looking forward to how Tyson Bagent pans out. Maybe tonight he solidifies a spot as a back up or at least on the PS?
  16. The stories I was able to find on Jackson was repeatedly that he was “lighting it up” during practice . And that he had a pick six against QB Richardson before he was shook up.
  17. Davin Cook joining Rodgers in New Jersey. And Zeke will be headed to New England.
  18. DHC joins Roquan Smith and Sam Mustipher in Baltimore. Ravens are building Chicago Bears - East edition. ?.
  19. Interesting to see for how “broken” the oline was last year, they only swapped out two players. A former first rounder (Rieff) for a current first rounder and Mustipher for Davis. Who for me is still a question mark. You could make the case neither Ebner nor Gipson making the team. Gipson could potentially be a trading chip if he keeps producing in the pre-season.
  20. Bears used their primary waiver spot (again) and grabbed Logan Stenberg (OG from the Lions) to help bolster the interior oline. Here’s some info with that RAS stuff you guys refer to.
  21. My takeaways from this report: - Stevenson doesn’t have an issue standing up to veteran players. Hoping that doesn’t add up to Javon Wims style lack of discipline but rather confidence building. - the interior line seems to be a mess. So far I’m not keen on Davis. Leatherwood and Jenkins are cream puffy and I’m glad Patrick isn’t the starter anywhere.
