  1. Yes. Poles has cast away some serious debt in three of the highest (or potentially in the case of Smith) paid players on the team with Smith, Quinn and Mack. All players that Pace got us and for what? Poles has also stockpiled some draft picks of which could help us build a pretty strong team for years to come. Our team isn’t losing because of our offense isn’t able to score points but because our defense can’t stop the other team from doing it. Go figure when you have an UDFA starting in the place of an all star player in Smith and a couple of rookies. And having nearly 100 yards in penalties doesn’t help either. Give it time.
  2. I still stand by my critique of Johnson. Got burned on a 44 yard gain while covering man-to-man.
  3. Seems appropriate that Okudah was the one trying to catch Fields. FullSizeRender.MOV
  4. Generally when a team gets 100 yards in penalties that’s a horrible omen. Not sure what to make of the fact this isn’t the Bears’ fault…completely.
  5. I stand corrected on the second ‘hands to the face’. It wasn’t.
  6. Remind me AGAIN how great Jaylon Johnson is. Two IDENTICAL penalties on the same drive! This is like watching Jemarcus Webb getting repeat holding calls.
  7. I give it a chance because of how well the team has adapted after their last mini-bye. Add in a real bye, Fields and the offense are improving (possible four top notch receivers available then; Mooney, Claypool, Harry and Pringle), and both games are back to back at home. Of the two I could actually see the Eagles losing to the Bears. Although Allen is recovering from an undisclosed injury to his throwing arm. Maybe they’re more susceptible? Heck, maybe the Bears beat them both?
  8. Injuries of note. Jenkins is on it again. This time with a hip issue. And Johnson is back on the list as well.
  9. So thought I’d put this here. What say you? I find it an intriguing take.
  10. This could be a key re-addition to the defense once he’s deemed ready. He’s familiar with Eberflus’ defense (from Indy), has some speed (4.63 - 40yd vs Roquan’s 4.51) and likes to hit.

  12. Literally spine tingling stuff. Some of the observations made (like hiding the ball when doing the fake) were the same ones I noticed earlier in the season. I recall both Rodgers and Daniel Jones doing that earlier this year and was like 'man I wish Fields would do stuff like that' and...whattyaknow? I remember seeing him during that 60 yard run thinking the (what looked like a fake throw) pump was to get certain players to freeze. I didn't realize his receiver (Mooney in this case) had changed direction just as he was getting ready to throw...amazing! Yes, his evolution is really quite incredible and the more he does it the less likely its a fluke. Gents, we got us a keeper. Just think 'what could have been' this year if ISM hadn't of had a few mental breakdowns, V. Jones hadn't muffed that punt, a few other receivers hadn't dropped sure passes (looking at you ESB) and the refs hadn't frigged up the calls yesterday...where would we be right now? If only....
  13. I’m guessing the reason the Bears let Mario Edwards Jr go was due to money. He sure looks good tonight against the Chiefs. Has one sack and nearly a second soon after that.
  14. Meanwhile our offense is coming along great led by Fields’ continued improvement and Getsy’s adaptive play calling. A few weeks ago I wasn’t sure Getsy was ‘the guy’ but he’s starting to convince me otherwise. Now that the offense is off and running it’s time to get the defense on track. Consistent they’ve been gutted from talented players, we’ll have to trust the process. I certainly prefer being in this role than I would be as a Packer fan right now. Their one-dimensonal offense is starting to break.
  15. Apparently Vildor has come back in wearing Jaylon Johnson’s uniform. You
  16. I’d agree. Another one id like to see in the rotation is Lb AJ Klein who came by way of the Roquan trade. Right now he’s listed as backup to Sanborn but has a ton of experience. Never know. With the defense on the mediocre side right now to have him in would be more for late game views.
  17. Their pass rush defense got a shot in the arm when they traded for former Denver pass rusher Bradley Chubb. This trade took place about the same time the Bears got Claypool. Gonna probably need outside help from the TEs.
  18. At the end of the day, a dominant running game is a good base for a more complex offense later on. Right now, the Bears own the running game.
  19. On Sanborn, I’m good with whatever LB spot he plays. Just would like to see him get more opportunities. honestly I think Morrow has comparable speed to Smith so he might be better in that role. As far as Vildor, let’s just say I’m hoping to see more Gordon out there. He’s steadily improving and isn’t quite the train wreck he was a few weeks ago. Lastly I noticed on one site they have Leatherwood as backup to Jenkins on the depth chart, and no where else. But then they also had Jaylon Johnson listed as “out”.
  20. Reading that Sanborn will be getting increased reps, according to DC Alan Williams. And that he’s a leading candidate for the recently vacated WILL position.
  21. I also agree with all this. Especially the part about Pit being in a potential rebuild. Probably wanted to get what they could for a player like Claypool. Who since with the addition of Pickens, has been relegated to play other positions. Claypool did say they had been more recently tinkering with where he lined up. He said although he didn't like (or feel as competent) from the slot, he appreciated the experience he was getting from playing all the positions. Felt it would give him more experience where he may not have had he stuck simply to the X position.
