  1. Haskins gets easily distracted and bored (recalling the time he was with WFT and was supposed to be on the field when he was taking selfies with fans) and this (below). Justin isn’t that way. Still the stats are pretty interesting.
  2. And just because I like this quote from the man himself:
  3. I’ve been trying to avoid starting a new topic but saw a story on Robert Quinn that got my attention. Turns out he’s had a benign brain tumor most of his life. I know someone like that and being benign doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous or disruptive. Many props to him considering how he’s playing this year and has played most of his career.
  4. All the best to you and your family and congratulations!!! Talkbears fam…all the best to you during this holiday season. Go Bears!!
  5. A few points of contention/disagreement. Kmet had been a bit of a mess until recently. Johnson to me still hasn’t proven much other than being the guy benefitting from teams not throwing his way because all the rest of the defensive backfield is a mess (remember Desai’s ‘area of expertise’). Gipson has been coming on as of late and I've always liked Mooney so I’ll agree those two are earning their spots. Problem is the offense (and to some degree coaching) is so inept, some of the players aren’t able to shine in their respective positions. Take Graham. He finally got a TD yesterday where he’s excelled in most of his career; in the red zone. He was the leading TD receiver last season and now he’s just a memory. I have a hard time believing he’s the problem. The aforementioned Kmet has been doing what seems like dropping passes more than catch them until recently. The running game suddenly went to shit. When Monty was out Herbert did pretty darn good. Monty comes back and they both barely get any yardage. What’s changed? Most of these issues we know lie at the feet of Nagy and the coaching staff. I’m not sure we’re really ever to fully evaluate most of the players due it.
  6. Notice Burns is playing CB opposite Johnson. For what it’s worth I like Grant and Marsh and wouldn’t mind if they stuck around to next year.
  7. The writing was on the wall a few weeks ago it appears…
  8. Because he’s still at “Football 101” or whatever stupid crap Nagy used to say.
  9. Totally 100%. It was bad enough he was not only getting called out by the fans during last week’s loss but I’ve seen videos where they were doing it at Bulls and Blackhawks games too. We get it, he sucks as a coach. But he’s still a decent guy and deserves to be able to enjoy being with his family in peace.
  10. In other (but somewhat related because we still have to play them again) news. Something of note:
  11. Safe to assume Quinn is frustrated. Rumors swirling that many players want Nagy gone.
  12. I always appreciate watching the “Football After Show” with Dave Kaplan ( and Olin, Alex and Lance). They breakdown what they think went right or wrong and give some good perspective from a players standpoint. They ask a great question (with no answer) of what did the team (coaching) do during the bye week to figure out how to score more points? Why aren’t they playing to Justin’s (and the other playmakers’) strengths? This is the same pattern we saw with Mitch and the one constant is Nagy.
  13. Agreed on all points. As cliche as it sounds, this team is alot better off than the 3-7 record says. I'm encouraged by the potential.
  14. Still struggling with this one. With Herbert and his vision the zone blocking works. With Monty not so much. He locks in on where he’s gonna go then torques and turns to make max yards. With Justin at QB you see someone still learning how to read the field and the pocket collapsing quickly. With Dalton you see quick and decisive throws and after a few of those plenty of time to throw as the game progresses. Mustipher played center for all of it.
  15. At least GB lost today. Glad that pompous ass Rodgers wasn’t able to illegitimately (with help from the refs) come from behind to win.
  16. Oddly enough I think IF Dalton had more opportunities with the starting group the results would have been different. A lot of his ‘off’ passes were due to timing and routine with the WRs. A fair number of the big plays he had were to non-first stringers; Goodwin and Jimmy G among them. That being said the loss was not only due to poor coaching but keeping Vildor on the field. Should’ve put Burns or Graham Jr out there instead.
