That kid from Notre Dame #5 looks like a good fit for the Bears
-
I will say that to be balanced we need to at least get the ball to them (Davis about 50 times. Marshall Jeffrey Bennett, Hester and Forte will have the bulk of the passes thrown
-
In the event that Urlacher finishes the season with the bad knee who would you look to draft, sign in FA or trade for to replace him in the middle?
-
You have also got to understand what kind of passing system and teamm Winslow has come from. Now you can not compare Davis who got the ball thrown to him 20 times to Winslow who got the ball thrown to him 100 times. We dont use the TE like the teams Winslow came from. And again this year we have Marshall Jeffrey, Hester, Bennett Forte..so why do we throw to the TE? Why when he is wide open or a saftey play.He is just not featured like the ones for the Patriots,Saints, and others
-
He might be back week two if they let him sit out the game against the Colts
-
Since we signed Okoye back from the Bucs someone had to go...it seems as Price was the one.. Now with Collins out for week one the next one to get the axe will be the punter Quigley
-
Bears 28 Colts 10

I understand what you are thinking, but Clutts had more value to the team....he played special teams could be used as a long snapper and as a FB that can catch and his blocking was better than Unga and Adams. Also Unga has never made the 53 man roster in 3 years so why keep him?
-
Unga sucks IMHO...we should have kept Clutts and cut TE Adams
-
Sorry to hear that...so what does it really keep you from doing when it flares up other than walking as you say.
-
T.O all you have to do is catch the ball and you cant even do that right...and you want to complain again.......well in the words of Donald Trump "You're Fired"!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ APLinebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t the only Bears defender dealing with a lingering injury. Defensive end Julius Peppers has a case of plantar fasciitis, which caused the team to schedule regular days off during camp. Peppers wouldn’t even tell Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune which foot was bothering him, following the lead of Urlacher’s evasiveness. “I’d refer to it as soreness,” Peppers said. “General soreness.” Peppers hasn’t missed any game time this far, and looks like the same explosive player during the preseason. Bears coach Lovie Smith shrugged it off as a non-issue. “Guys fight through a lot of things,” Smith said. “Lance [briggs], Roberto [Garza], Brian — all those guys who have been playing that long have something going on. But it’s nothing we can’t monitor. “We take care of our vets. We get them their work, but we don’t beat them up and stuff. Julius should be fine. How many days has Julius missed? He gets sore every once in a while. Nothing major.” Peppers is often overlooked, because his production, while good (100 sacks in 10 seasons), hasn’t been viewed to match his ridiculous natural talent. But he’s played at least 80 percent of the defensive snaps in his two years with the Bears, and has only missed four games because of injury in his career. That kind of durability, coupled with those natural gifts and a better-than-advertised presence against the run, keeps him among the top ends in the league.

I agree.....the coaches have told him to find two or three moves to work on to get you off the blockers and to the QB. What better time to work on those than in a pre-season game

http://www.kffl.com/hotw/NFL?page=3#ixzz24cQJMzSr The Chicago Bears are exploring the possibility of signing free-agent SS Charlie Peprah (Packers). The Green Bay Packers, Peprah's former team, reportedly released him after he failed a physical on the first day of training camp. Peprah did not participate in offseason workouts after having arthroscopic knee surgery. The Bears want to examine the knee before proceeding with signing him. The Chicago Bears will release WR Chris Summers and DE Derek Walker and will waive FS Trevor Coston and place| Brandon Hardin to be on IR

I think with all the fumbles Bell has had and the 105 return Booker made...the Bears really didnt have a pressing need to keep Bell since he turned down a chance to stay with the team. Telling the boss to release me is playing with fire....since you are the third string RB and not and all-pro like MJ drew from the Jags,
-
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Now that was not too bright if you wanted to stay on this team....but I guess you have to do what you have to do
-
Yes a true WR we have in Jeffrey not like Hester who switched from DB to WR
-
With Conte and Hardin going down in the Redskins game the Bears signed S Mark LeGree (49'ers) to a one-year deal and waived LB Ronnie Thornton

There are not many teams with just one shut down corner.......so how are they going to stop Marshall and Jeffery....I think that they wont be able to as we have seen in the two pre season games where Jeffery is leading the team in catrches and Marshall had two big catches over 20 yards on one drive. Looking at who we play this year I see only a few teams (Packers, Cowboys, Cardinals and Texans)that have corners good enough to stay with our two Beast at WR. But if used right and the line block for Cutler we will be hard to stop in the passing game.

LOL Cutler in a commercial, but I thought he was a media shy guy......LOL

Rex was not a cancer to the team....the team was its worst enemy because they failed to bring in draft or go after a really good QB in all the years Rex was here.Florida was known for having QB busts when they got to the NFL and Grossman was part of it. Here is a list of the FA avilable that year and who was drafted that year. Aside from Jake Plummer and Charlie batch...their were not any really QB'S to go after. Free Agents 1. Jake Plummer, Arizona 2. Rob Johnson, Tampa Bay 3. Gus Frerotte, Cincinnati 4. Jeff Blake, Baltimore 5. Charlie Batch, Pittsburgh 6. Shaun King, Tampa Bay 7. Rodney Peete, Carolina 8. Shane Matthews, Washington 9. Tony Banks, Houston 10. Koy Detmer, Philadelphia QB'S drafted in 2003 1 Cincinnati Carson Palmer QB USC 7 Jacksonville Byron Leftwich QB Marshall 19 Baltimore Kyle Boller QB California 22 Chicago Rex Grossman QB Florida 88 Houston Dave Ragone QB Louisville 97 Tampa Bay Chris Simms QB Texas 110 Seattle Seneca Wallace QB Iowa State 163 Pittsburgh Brian St. Pierre QB Boston College 192 Houston (Supplemental) Drew Henson QB Michigan 200 N.Y. Jets Brooks Bollinger QB Wisconsin 201 New England Kliff Kingsbury QB Texas Tech 232 Washington Gibran Hamdan QB Indiana 241 San Francisco Ken Dorsey QB Miami (Fla.)

IMHO we won because of a total team effort ....not just the D, not Grossman and not Hester. We won or lost because all the players either played their ass off or they didn't. So it's true the D kep us close, Rex won some shoot outs and Hester scored the winning TD agaibst the Cardinals. But the bigger question is "why didn't we win the Super Bowl that year leading 17-6 at the half?

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8971 Rookie receiver Alshon Jeffery followed his impressive performance in Thursday night’s preseason opener with an equally strong effort on the practice field Saturday in Bourbonnais. The second-round draft pick caught three touchdown passes in a red-zone drill, using his 6-3, 216-pound frame to leap high over defensive backs in the corner of the end zone on all three plays. Bears rookie second-round draft choice Alshon Jeffery catches a pass in practice. “As you look at receivers you want to see production,” said coach Lovie Smith. “From OTAs we were talking about how good his hands were, and I think that’s just carried on. He’s carried that to every situation we put him in. When you give a guy reps, you want to see him perform and make plays and he’s been doing that.” Jeffery displayed excellent hands and route-running ability in Thursday night’s 31-3 preseason-opening loss to the Broncos, catching a game-high four passes for 34 yards in his first NFL game. “He was one of the few guys we were pleased with as far as his effort and being able to make plays,” Smith said. “He’s a good football player and he’s getting more and more confidence. “He’s got good size. He’s got excellent hands. As a rookie we see improvement from him. He takes coaching well. We could talk on him for a while. We’re so pleased with what he did.” On one of Jeffery’s TD catches in Saturday’s practice, Bears general manager Phil Emery—who was standing near the end zone—ended any dispute about whether the receiver may have been out-of-bounds by raising his hands to signal “touchdown.” In April, Emery traded up five spots to No.45 to nab a player the general manager told reporters the Bears had ranked as one of the top three receivers in the draft. Six wideouts were selected ahead of Jeffery: Justin Blackmon (No. 5 by Jacksonville), Michael Floyd (No. 13 by Arizona), Kendall Wright (No. 20 by Tennessee), A.J. Jenkins (No. 30 by San Francisco), Brian Quick (No. 33 by St. Louis) and Stephen Hill (No. 43 by the Jets). “We saw a big, dynamic athlete, playmaker falling and we decided that we were going to go after him,” Emery said after making the deal to land Jeffery. “We feel that Alshon has the best hands in the draft. We feel that he is the best at adjusting to the ball. We feel he is the best sideline and end zone catcher in the draft. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands. He’s a big man. He’s strong. He’s tough. He doesn’t go down without a fight.” Jeffery, who entered the draft following his junior season, caught 183 passes for 3,042 yards and 23 touchdowns in 40 career games at South Carolina. His 3,042 yards are a school record and the second most in SEC history. At training camp Saturday, the Bears distributed a mask featuring a picture of Jeffery’s face. But the gesture most likely won’t go to the soft-spoken receiver’s head, figuratively or literally. “That’s for the fans. I don’t get into the hype and all,” Jeffery said softly. “I’m just trying to work every day and still trying to learn the offense and still trying to read coverages and make plays and play fast.”

Well I guess it's both of them as the Bears had only 5 LB's at practice
