IMHO I think the ones who will be on the roster are in bold!!!! I pick Thomas over Sanzenbacker because he is bigger at 6'2, 221 rather than 5'11, 180 with maybe Crump/Summers on the practice squad, but doesn't Sanzenbacher qualify to be on that practice squad as well? But since we have Weems we can afford to give Knox the year off to recovery from his injury. Bennett, Earl 80 WR 6-0 206 Vanderbilt 5 25 Crump, Terriun *81 WR 6-2 223 Western Illinois R 22 Golden, Brittan *82 WR 5-11 186 West Texas A&M R 23 Hester, Devin 23 WR 5-11 190 Miami 7 29 Jeffery, Alshon * 17 WR 6-3 216 South Carolina R 22 Knox, Johnny 13 WR 6-0 185 Abilene-Christian 4 25 PUP list/maybe IR(depending on recovery) Marshall, Brandon 15 WR 6-4 230 Central Florida 7 28 Sanzenbacher, Dane18 WR 5-11 180 Ohio St. 2 23 Summers, Chris *83 WR 6-5 213 Liberty R 22 Thomas, Devin 11 WR 6-2 221 Michigan State 5 25 Weems, Eric 14 WR/KR 5-9 195 Bethune-Cookman 6 26

HA h ha you are funny......Hester is not going anywhere. Sure we have brought in talent but they are unproven. So you want to get rid of Mr if you give me a little lane and I'm gone to the house" for someone that maybe can do it once in a while....I think not. I see us keeping the same Oline players as last year with the addition of Rachal and maybe Brown. I really see we keep the same players from last years team with the additions of the FA and the top four draft picks. Butt Clutts might not make it.

Seriously you guys need to stop talking about what size this player is or what big or small school they came from. Some of the biggest busts in the NFL come from Big schools...like Penn State and LSU. Then the Bears have TWO HOF guys from small schools like Jackson State and Tennessee State. Wehave a 5'9 cornerback in Jennings playing against some of the bigger WR in the NFL and is holding his own. You need to just look around the NFL rosters and see all the players from small schools....hell we have 15 on our roster and two from Bosie State. So size of the player and size of the school really does not matter at all if you can get the job done.

I don't really care about being in the top 10 on offense or defense. What I do care about is the team actually trying to win games by not just scoring a few points and keeping them from scoring while holding onto the lead. What I care about is a true grasp and usage of the offense and all the weapons it now has to take control of games and but them out of reach. If we use Hester in the right packages, throw in the red zone to the big targets we now have (Marshall,Davis,Jeffrey) and use our two backs (Forte & Bush) then the sky is the limit for this team.

Hey thanks....that's fine with me being over here in Afghanistan the internet will do that from time to time.

Our number one pick was asked if chasing chickens on the farm compares to chasing NFL quarterbacks. And his answer was"Well, you have to have agility to chase chickens," he said, "so I guess it's similar." I just hope he makes chickens out of Rodgers and Stafford and the rest of the QB'S we face this year. The man was chasing chickens......thats hard!!. But there is a high school team down in Florida that does their training by running after rabbits. Now you're ass has got to be fast to catch a rabbit!

OT: Explain your username and how you became a Bears fan
Wesson44 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
Mine is simple..........Wesson is my last name and the 44 is my football number in high school and college. I was born and raised in Chicago so I was a bears fan from birth! -
If you really take a look at our roster we have 12 O linemen, 3 that can play center,9 that can play guard, and 4 that can play tackle. I know that it does not equal 12....thats because some of the players have played two positions. Now we have listed at OT Webb, Carimi, Horn, Louis. WE have Garza C/OG at center And at guard we have Spencer C/OG, Louis OG/OT, Rachal, E.Williams OG/C, C.Williams OT/OG, Henry,Stephens,Wrotto. Now we got Brown as a UDFA to throw in the mix so do we keep the same starters from last year or are we going to let them fight it out. Webb, C.Williams Brown at LT.....Rachal, E.Williams at LG Garza and Spencer at center, Louis, Garza Spencer at RG..Carimi, and Luis at RT. Who do you think wins the starting jobs?

IMHO we did what we had to do in FA and the draft. I know we didnt get the player everyone wanted but we did make this team from last year better. I think that was the main goal to get better not players you wanted. With that being said I liked the Jeffrey pick...it gives us two major big weapons for Jay to throw to. The De sounds good if he compares himself (and plays like) Jarad Allen we are set with him and Peppers.Hayes will push Roach and we have depth at the back seven positions LB through safety. The rest of the guys are really fill ins or special teams guys. With all the speed we signed our special teams is going to be tops again this year. Now we might get a gem or two with our UDFA class, the OT Brown and DT Cameron just might make the team and do some things.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ So far we signed one OT, two saftey guys, two LB and a RB???????? Is it all about defense this year? Troy offensive lineman James Brown The Bears also agreed to terms with six other undrafted free agents: S Trevor Colston, LB Ronnie Thornton, RB Alvester Alexander, LB Adrien Cole, DT Ronnie Cameron and S Jeremy Jones.

IMHO is the guys you are looking at has played (started) 3 years at the position for his school, has a high motor, doesn't take off plays, has all the tools , skill set as other high rated players and you need him at a certain position then you take him.....period. Guys like Walter Payton, Jerry Rice etc.........that came from small not big name schools. If the guys wants to play and can, then pick him train him and turn him loose on the other team!!

I read somewhere that Nate Potter was a great pass blocker but didn't block in the running game all that well. So do you take a chance on a guy that can block great while we throw the ball or no because he's lacking in the running game?

Below is a list of the teams we play and what they have done in the draaft so far. By looking at their team and these new players who do you think will give us the most proplems this year? IMHO this was a pick to keep pace with the Packers and Lions. When was the last time we had a 6'3 222ld saftey running a 4.4? This can help when Johnson goes deep. Now keep in mind..this guy also played CB on his team. So we got a two for one sale.
-
With this years FA and the draft so far the Bears are making me sick. Sick with Koolaid flu!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA. We are getting everything we need for a deep run into the playoffs and SuperBowl. We just got Hardin a big 6'3, 222lb, 4.44 Saftey/CB not that he will be starting but put him in against C. Johnson. We got Jeffrey at 6'3 219lb for Cutler to throw to. Marshall and Jeffrey will be in beast mode during games. So there will be no more alligator arms like Knox does, those two will go and get the ball oh and not to mention the red zone with 6'3 Marshall, 6'3 Jeffrey, and 6'7 Davis...WOW!!!!!So this is what we have done so far Marshall = better the R.Williams Thomas/Weems = better than Hurd Campell= better than Hanie Hardin SS/FS/CB????? better than Merriweather Hayden = better than Graham Wilhite = better than Bowman Bush = better than Barber Rachal OG= better than Omiyale OG/OT Geno Hayes ???? = better than Roach Jeffrey= better than Sanazbacher McClellin will push Wooten & Izzy Cut Komar, Omiyale,Adams let Okoye go Also signed Costanzo So the rest of the draft will come down to DT and OT so IMHO we have gotten better!!!! Look out NFC North

See this is just what Jason and i were fussing about, I told him we were going to get three WR thsi year, but were actually got four Jeffrey, Marshall,Weems, and Thomas. And we also got two big WR like I asked for to give Cutler someone to throw to other than the smurfs we have.

We will be harder to defend with another big WR like Floyd, Hill or Quick. Look at what Fitzgerald from the Cards wants.....he wants them to pick Floyd to take some of the double teams off of him.So If we have Floyd, Marshall and Forte, how are teams going to defend us if we have a three WR set with Davis at TE, Bennett/Hester in the slot and Floyd and Marshall on the outside and Fotre out of the backfield. If you double either of the two outside guys, you leave the slot and TE to be guarded by a slower LB and that also leave Forte out in the flats open..
-
IMHO we need to keep the picks by not trading up. Now if we can trade down and get more picks then I'm all for that. We need to hit on four picks this year in the draft to be a real force in the NFC North and the NFL as a whole. WE need to get another big WR to take some pressure off Marshall and create more mismatches. We need two D linemen one DT and one DE to create a pass rush to free up Peppers to do his thing. And we really need an OT to keep Cutler upright and throwing. Those are the four spots we really need, now you can also make a case for CB, LB and FS/SS but those will more than likely be addressed in the later rounds.
-
UUUUUUUmmmmm no!!!! The reason why Wallace is not signed with the Steelers yet is because hie is just like Forte right now.....wanting a big paying contract. So if we trade them we are in the same boat with Wallace after this year.
-
IMHO we can get by without a saftey right now, but what we need is for the front seven to get better at rushing the passer to allow the secondary to make plays and cover the WR'S. The quicker the QB has to throw the ball the more mistakes they are going make.
-
IMHO we are four players away from being a great team. We need another big WR, A DT, and a pass rush DE and a good LT
-
Hell if he can rush the QB'S then why not. We need all the pass rushers we can get. If he was a Clay Mattews clone then we need him!!
-
I think it has to be either DT or DE in the first WR in the second and either OL or DT/DE in the third. Then OT and or BPA the rest of the way.
