Maybe he was or is waiting for the high priced maret to go down so we can get him at a cheap price on a low paying contract.
-
I agree with you too and hope he does come back, but this is a situation that needs to be taken very carefully and not just rushed into for the saftey of Knox's future life and not just his football career.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/categ...or-mill/page/2/ Packers next to host Demetrius Bell Former Bills tackle Demetrius Bell is the No. 2-rated unrestricted free agent left unsigned on the PFT Hot 100. He’s a 28-year-old, starting-caliber left tackle who’s been unlucky when it comes to avoiding the injury bug. But Packers G.M. Ted Thompson knows a potential bargain when he sees one, and Bell fits the bill. Per Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo, Bell will be visiting Green Bay later this week. As a Packer, Bell could provide competition at left tackle if the team cuts the cord on longtime starter Chad Clifton. Clifton turns 36 this offseason, is owed nearly $6 million in salary and bonuses, and underwent back surgery in February. Clifton’s likely successor is expected to be Marshall Newhouse, but he’s had his fare share of problems in past spot starts. At least based on talent alone, Bell would be an upgrade on Newhouse.

I think he can be the Randy Moss type of player. We really don't have a tall down the field weapon. This kid can just learn the routes in time but run the go fly or whatever you want to call it like Moss does.Either way its going to be a mismatch for the smaller corners and will also free up the Beast on the other side.

We still need to look at numbers 28, 31 50,60, 4. Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace (RFA). 7. Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb (RFA). 22. Raiders running back Michael Bush. Signed with Bears. 28. Chargers offensive tackle Marcus McNeill. 31. Bills offensive tackle Demetrius Bell. 50. Seahawks linebacker David Hawthorne. 52. Redskins linebacker London Fletcher. 58. Patriots defensive end Andre Carter. 59. Jaguars defensive end Matt Roth. 60. Bengals linebacker Manny Lawson. 63. Saints defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin. 64. Giants offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie. 66. Chargers defensive end Luis Castillo. 67. 49ers safety Reggie Smith. 68. Lions running back Kevin Smith. 69. 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards. 70. Jets safety Jim Leonhard. 71. Bengals running back Cedric Benson. 72. Seahawks running back Justin Forsett. 73. Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell. Signed with Bears. 74. 49ers offensive guard Chilo Rachal. 75. Eagles defensive tackle Trevor Laws. 84. Rams center Jason Brown. 86. Raiders defensive end Jarvis Moss. 87. Yes I agree, but who would you look at other than in the draft....well in the draft too to fill that spot?
-
I did know....like I said before would you put a guy on the field that just had a broken back????? Hell no...... like I stated before they should put him on IR and either get three WR in FA and or the draft. Now Im making sense, but I was speaking from a football saftey point of view back then. I would not risk the career for Knox. We got one WR (Marshall) and another in Weems (for Hurd) but we need another one. Just one and it does not have to be in the 1st RD, but Floyd or Hill would look good on the other side of the Beast.
-
Since we have lost two players from the roster at CB would from this list below would you might want on the team. I think we will draft one maybe two if we dont sign a cheap FA. Kelvin Hayden (ATL) Reggie Corner (BUF) Cletis Gordon (CAR) Kelly Jennings (CIN) Dmitri Patterson (CLE) Alan Ball (DAL) Frank Walker (DAL) Brandon McDonald (DET) Jonathan Wilhite (DEN) Jarrett Bush (GB) David Jones (JAC) Dwight Lowery (JAC) Travis Daniels (KC) Leigh Torrence (NO) Will Blackmon (NYG) Michael Coe (NYG) Justin Tryon (NYG) Donald Strickland (NYJ) Lito Sheppard (OAK) William Gay (PIT) Anthony Madison (PIT) Bryant McFadden (PIT) Marcus Trufant (SEA) Roderick Hood (STL) Justin King (STL) Ronde Barber (TB) Elbert Mack (TB) Philip Buchanon (WAS) Jonathan Wilhite (DEN) Pat Lee (GB) Jason Allen (HOU) David Jones (JAC) Dwight Lowery (JAC) Travis Daniels (KC) Will Allen (MIA) Benny Sapp (MIN)Antwaun Molden (NE)

It just goes back to what I was saying all along we are going to draft a WR in the 1st RD, Floyd/Hill or in later rounds and maybe look back into FA at whats left because Know will not be ready to play the way we need him to play. But it will be the draft because below is whats left in the FA market. But I would just "look" at the bold ones Ruvell Martin (BUF) Roscoe Parrish (BUF) Lee Evans (BAL) Legedu Naanee (CAR) Roy Williams (CHI) Jerome Simpson (CIN) Rashied Davis (DET) Maurice Stovall (DET) Braylon Edwards (FA) Bryant Johnson (HOU) Jerheme Urban (KC) Bernard Berrian (MIN) Greg Camarillo (MIN) Matt Slater (NE) Courtney Roby (NO) Domenik Hixon (NYG) Devin Thomas (NYG) Plaxico Burress (NYJ) TJ Houshmandzadeh (OAK) Derek Hagan (OAK) Steve Smith (PHI) Jerricho Cotchery (PIT) Arnaz Battle (PIT) Patrick Crayton (SD) Ted Ginn (SF) Mark Clayton (STL) Mike Sims-Walker (STL) Micheal Spurlock (TB) Kevin Curtis (TEN) David Anderson (WAS)

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ So we lost Bowman to the Vikings, Graham to the Ravens...so what I see us doing is draftig a CB in the draft maybe in the third 2nd or 3rd RD. We are awful thin at good CB with only Jennings, Tillman, DJ Moore on the team and we have a 1st year unproven Donovan Warren,
-
So who should we look at then?
-
They might have the roon to sign Okoye his market is not the high in the pay scale and Bell might be cheap too due to his past injury...who know we could get Pepper and a few others to restructure their contracts.
-
I think its just a matter of seeing what the other guys (Foster & Lynch) have gotten that you value your worth. I think he is right up there with those two (he did go to the Pro Bowl) as for production goes. But from a players stand point you have to get your money in this NFL today because you will not be in it for long. NFL=Not For Long
-
Actually I said to re-sign Okoye, and Forte and look at the other positions and maybe sign one of the other players. Doing this would make us a way better team than last year and we can go into the draft and draft BPA in every round.
-
You are right.....who cares!!!!.....lol
-
Thanks, but why i wanted Streeter as a pick is because IF we do get the guys or positions that I stated Streeter is a big, fast 6'5 guy that can be another weapon on the other side of Marshall that the defense will have to respect and have a mismatch against. Lets see if we draft him how many catches he will have in practice over the 5-9 Jennings....lol. It's all about creating a mismatch and taking advantage of it. Tall speed guys going deep, short speed guys going short or visa versa who do you or how do you game plan for that?
-
Thats funny...not on the same level as Foster, not as good as Gore....lol. Foster nor Gore didn't lead their team in rushing and receiving in the same year twice! Foster had better blocking and so did Gore but you cant see the forrest because you are looking at a tree. Foster and Gore are good back yes i give you that, but 1. they are mostly runners 2. had better blocking 3. had better WR'S maybe than we did (Johnson for sure)and him being hurt increased Foster's catching the ball Here you compare the three players....and keep in mind Forte missed the last 4 games. Forte 203 carriers 997 yards 4.9 average 52 catches 490 yards 9.9 average Gore 287 carries 1,211 yards 4.3 average 17 catches 114 yards 6.7 avarage Foster 278 carries 1,224 yards 4.4 average 53 catches 617 yards 11.6 average(Johnson was hurt) And you say Forte is not as good as the other two????
-
Either way we wont have to pay him for sub standard work....lol
-
We we really dont have much left to do other than signing A. Okoye and Forte. We can also still look at an OT in Bell or McNeil or a CB maybe still look at LB with Hawthorne and Lawson still out there. We can be a great fast defense if we signed one of those two. I would think about Lawson and his speed and drafting Irvin with his speed then you have a strong side with two guys at 4.4 speed covering the TE and rushing the QB. We could draft and OT in the first RD, Trumaine Johnson CB in the second Irvin DE in the third Tomie Streeter WR in the fouth and BPA the rest of the way
-
So what about the checked past...that might have been the past....hey people can change...... with the vetern leadership in the Bears locker room I would draft this guy and put all that 4.4 speed on the other side of Peppers as a rush DE/LB and other teams QB will have problems all day running from him and Peppers. I see him like Matthews from the Packers. Fast enough to bother the Qb and get them off balance making the back seven better.
-
Thats the Jets confessing their mistake by tell this guy that that would not get another QB so he could be the number two guy.
-
The GM has a plan and so far I'm loving it...we have gotten better on paper in just a matter of days!!!! The beast for Cutler, Bush at RB stanzo, Weems QB situation solved.......now all we need is a few more additions at WR, OT, CB, DE, LB and we are great.
-
And now we know the rest of the story on why we signed Bush. Great move by Emery!
-
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...altimore-ravens Coery Graham has agreed to sign with the Ravens I hope he plays corner so Marshall can burn him up like he did in the Pro Bowl..Never the less good luck Mr. Graham
-
The Bears should give FORTE a deal like Foster and Lynch and call it a day because he will sign it at this point. I think we can see the release of either Barber (bone headed plays) or Bell (fumbles to much)
