Ok good now comes the question of what if....Marshall gets hurt who do you have to replace him for Cutler? Thats why we still need another WR like Floyd/Hill. And Knox might not even play this year....he is still trying to walk right.
-
Tell that to Jason....lol
-
Yes I agree with you on that. But I do watch the whole field and know that our line is weak at best and that played the most important part in the passing game "blocking" but when you have better WR'S (more than just one) if makes the defense defend instead of attacking meaning less rushers for the line to deal with. Do you remember when we beat the Cowboys two years ago..they were killing us in the first half because we could'nt get the ball to our WR's. Then we used Olsen in the middle of the field and they backed off trying to defend the middle and we won the game. Same applies to our team getting better at the position makes it easy on the line. Why is it that Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, and a few other have the stats they have year in and year out( yes the have they blocking) but they have the guys to throw the ball to more than one target. So tell me this........if we have the guys we need and you dont want to get another WR....is our RB (FORTE) going to lead the team in catches again this year? RB=54 catches, top WR=37 catches something is wrong with that picture........yes the line is ONE and the WR is two and our system of play calling is three.
-
Hester,Bennett,Weems= Royal, thats why we arent talking about him
-
Well I define the outside guys are the ones who have the biggest mismatch with the corners like our 6'4 Marshall going against a 5'10 CB...now with the inside guys you have a bigger slower saftey or Lb trying to cover the speedy Bennettt/Hester/Knox....thereby creating another mismatch for us. Then you have the TE for the middle of the field like we did when Olsen was here.
-
Yes i was one of those people...I never said that we had to hve MOss Jackson Wayne and all the such, but we needed two of the bunch to be able to spread the field and not have the defense double team our star WR. We have that in Marshall our go to guy....now we need another one the other side..Bennett, Hester and Knox are not the outside type but more of the in the slot guys
-
Yes I total agree with you. And the team could be even better with the guys we are getting now and letting go.
-
I understand what you are saying but tell me why we didnt winanything last year or this year passing game flaws (and backup QB)......we have the defense and the running game as you well know. But our neglect of a good WR or two over the years has always cost us. Now that you mention the Packers and the Colts and even the Saints neither teams has a team of all pros but......... did they not get where they are now with bad WR'S and a weak passing game????? But you have to focus on what you need to make your team good if not great. Looks at the years that Denver had a great line. hell every back they brought in ran for 1000 yards, now that they have a sorry line what happened 759 tops QB leading rusher.......lol. Now I'm sure you have watched the Bears over the years with a good defense and can't even score in the red zone or better yet convert on third down because our WR's can't catch.......yes you have seen it many times. but with better WR's comes better results.
-
Oh eating crow now huh........I know why the Bears signed him and I stated that but the fact remains the same ....they did just get two WR during the FA period and may still indeed draft either Floyd or Hill. So now Komar and Sanazenbacher may not be one the team much longer after camp.
-
Looks like the Bucs are trying to buy a championship....like the Marlins did a few years back. Thats two good additions they have added.
-
OH JASON????? Why did the Bears just sign another WR can you please tell e that HUH???????? Oh that's right they are playing fantasy football......lol the should have signed Robinson instead they already have Knox(maybe) Bennett and Hester that can catch punts and kickoffs. The real reason they signed THIS guy is the loss of Graham only and to take Hurds spot.
-
Enough of this fantasy football huh thats your take????? Well picture this if you would...Knox is hurt(might not play) R. Williams is gone Hurd cut so that leave who as your WR's before Marshall??? Max Komar, Dane Sanzenbacher. Hester and Bennett. Now can you get a title with those names? Heck NO!!! So you can not play fantasy with your team and get leftovers or think outside the Box like the 49ers who signed Moss when they have three good WR already and went to the playoffs. Just for the record go look at the WR'S the Packers (15-1) put on the field last year they have four stars(Driver,Jones,Jennings,Nelson) and a TE and then drafted Cobb!! ANd you know the PAckers have a great running back like Forte...........not!!! So you saying to me that they Bears should not give our strongg armed QB a chance to win in the passing game by adding WR's is like giving Forte the ball with no blockers, he can make a few miss but not all. Sure our WR'S can gain a few yards but......... So we have Marshall, Bennett, Hester, Knox (maybe) drafting Floyd/Hill (for the future) and signing Robinson would not make our team better? Now a never said that we should ignore the defense and the other holes we have at LT, but the passing game wont work without the WR's. They Colts used to be the team with Manning because of the weapons he had to throw to, Brady, Farve, all the good QB had weapons at the WR position not scrubs.

If we can spend a little why not get Jay another FA target like Laurent Robinson from Dallas and still draft Floyd/Hill? Marshall, Robinson,Floyd/Hill Hester, Bennett, Knox those would create a lot of match up problems for the other teams coaches and their secondaries. We would then win a shoot out with the Packers!!!!
-
Since we signed Marshall(WR) and Campbell (QB) I think going after Williams will cost to much, so would go after Kamerion Wimbley and put him at DE instead....saves lots of money and gets a good pass rusher. Now with that we might be able to land either Grubbs/Nicks (G) and or Winston(OT) which would make our Oline better than las year. In the draft get either Floyd or Hill in the first and we are good in the Offense side of the ball. Then there is talk of adding Hayden at CB, Carlson at TE, Landry at safety we might have a great team next year.

Saints “making a push” for free agent Ben Grubbs Brandon Meriweather will visit Redskins on Wednesday visited the Denver Broncos on Tuesday night, but it appears he’ll be leaving the Mile High City without a deal in place. Brandon Lloyd en route to Bay Area for visit with 49ers Jaguars keep Jeremy Mincey in fold with four-year pact Mincey drew interest on Tuesday from the Chicago Bears, and the Cleveland Browns at one point were said to be making a run at him Chargers sign Meachem to four-year, $25.9 million contract
-
Since we got Marshall....I think our focus in FA should be with Nicks from the Saints and Winston from the Texans. With those two we could have a great Oline for Cutler. Some same Winston is a RT...so put himthere and move Gabe to the left. I would be better than Webb right? So where does Nicks play LG..then move Williams to RG...let them (Spencer,Williams) fight it out. Or you can line then up this way...sure will be better than last years line!!! Winston - Nicks - Garza - Williams - Carimi Carimi - Nicks - Garza - Williams - Winston
-
I say yes to that.....but still get Floyd/Hill in the first then maybe one of the below guys somewhere in the second if they are still there. Cornerback 1. Morris Claiborne, LSU 2. Dre Kirkpatrick, Alabama 3. Janoris Jenkins, North Alabama 4. Josh Robinson, Central Florida 5. Stephon Gilmore, South Carolina 6. Trumaine Johnson Montana 7. Leonard Johnson Iowa State Safety 1. Mark Barron, Alabama 2. Harrison Smith, Notre Dame 3. Brandon Taylor, LSU 4. DeQuan Menzie, Alabama 5. Phillip Thomas, Syracuse

Below is what Cutler has said to Marshall on twitter.....could he be the main reason we traded with the fins to get him.......I think so what do you think? JayCutler6 Jay Cutler Told you we could get that #15 out of storage. Getting the band back together! Good to have #15 back. RT @BMarshall: http://t.co/Zc832zw5 9 minutes ago

I think that this guys sucks...he gets beat deep like a drum game in and game out. We are better without him.
-
It does in light of what we had in our WR corps and the money we didn't spend to get Jackson!!!!!! Drink some Bears koolaid already!!!.....lol
-
The Bears signed a WR!!! He's 6'4 HE is Cutler favoite target!! Its Brandon Marshall!!!!!!
-
I didnt say sign allof them but just some that we need and need to call. Hey maybe we could get lucky and sign them for less than what the market says.
-
OK i get what you are saying....but i just hope that his 6'4 ass does not line up against 5'8 Jennings all day!!
-
Emery's first call should be to OT Eric Winston then to wide receiver Vincent Jackson. Then guard Carl Nicks. Then safety LaRon Landry. Those players fill more glaring needs and would represent a wiser allocation of funds than Williams, likely the most expensive free agent on the market. Then try to sign Kamerion Wimbley and find a good CB in FA and then draft Floyd a LB,CB
