http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill Report: Finnegan “recruiting” Vincent Jackson for possible package deal Posted by Evan Silva on March 8, 2012, 5:38 PM EST Getty ImagesJason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that free agent cornerback Cortland Finnegan is actively “recruiting” free agent wideout Vincent Jackson to join Finnegan on his next NFL team. Cole suspects that team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Finnegan has reportedly been text messaging back and forth with Jackson. The Bucs certainly have the salary cap space to land both players, and Finnegan and Jackson play positions of need in Tampa. Bucs incumbent No. 1 receiver Mike Williams played more like a No. 2 last season. Arrelious Benn has been a disappointment, unable to break free from a receiver committee with the similarly pedestrian Dezmon Briscoe. Preston Parker is strictly a slot guy. With Ronde Barber unsigned for 2012 and considering retirement, Finnegan would be a natural replacement — and upgrade — at right cornerback. Left corner Aqib Talib is in danger of a league-imposed suspension. The Buccaneers have been criticized for sitting on large amounts of cap space in past offseasons, but they’re publicly committed to opening the pocketbook this spring. Jackson and Finnegan would be an awfully aggressive way to start.

So if you compared that group 152 catches for 2156 yards and 22 TD's to our group with 153 catchs, 2084 yards and 6 TD'S who is more productive? 22 TD'"s to 6 is a big difference in winning and losing games. Hell Robonson alone beat out all of our WR's with his 54/858/11

If it was me as the GM i would place Knox on IR and let him heal 100%
-
That would be stupid for them th let Brees go and sign Manning. For one it will cost more to sign Manning than Brees. Second Manning is basically still hurt and Brees is not. Third Manning will have to learn the Saints system and get on the same page with the WR'S as Brees already knows the ins and outs of the Saints system. And last the coaches know what to do with Brees and how to use him......Manning will be changing plays and the coaches will have to follow his lead which they might not want to do.
-
Yes i agree that I would love to have him but not as the #1 WR but just as an option. So we could build a WR crew like the Packers and Saints use.
-
Wasn't this guy hurt for the past two years? But if he gets hit in the head again he will be through. Like Hunter Hillenmeyer he will have to sit.
-
The Bears will part ways with back-up quarterback Caleb Hanie and who would be a great cheap option? One site says the the Bears might look at a proven vet(I didn't say star) like Orton, Garard or even Grossman. Yes I know but it was a thought....lol. Grossman did get us to the Superbowl at least.
-
You are right...the Saints have more options at WR that would make it better for him here because he would get more balls thrown his way keeping him happy The way the Saints spread the ball around would be as you know much different heere in Chicago,....but just think for a minute if he became a favorite target of Cutler on the deep pass. Would you rather have Moss catching them or Hester/Knox/Bennett?
-
See hate to say I told you so .....but...if the Saints are going to give him a workout then we surely need to sign this guy to a contract. Just thinking out loud we sign Moss get Jackson in FA and the draft either Floyd or Hill..we have the window open to win this year the way we were playing. This gives us options down the field to keep the 8-9 guys in the box stopping Forte. Cutler can then throw some passes over the smaller DB to our tall WR instead of the ints he throws to our short WR'S.
-
Lynch got similar ground production this year as Forte, and was much more productive in finding paydirt, really doesn't have any merit because 1. Forte didn't play in the last four or five games 2. we used Barber in the red zone to limit Forte's touches 3. Forte was use in the passing game more than Lynch and 4. Seattle did a little better job blocking than our line. So if you really compare the two Forte does more and is has more value than Lynch.
-
That should be the least that the Bears offer to Forte

Its just like in (well on my teams) high school and college. We didn't get money, but in high school we got a paw sticker (Jaguars) for every knockout, great hit, int, fumble recovery and touchdown...as a reward for playing good. In college we got a bone sticker(Bulldogs) for the same kinds of things as my high school team. It was just to excell in the game not to hurt anyone. But this is not the kind of thing you want these pros to be doing. Not only can they hurt themselves but another player as well, putting and end to their careers playing. I think they should be forced to play the players medical bills and some other form of compensation for the ones who got hurt because of this strategy.
-
This tag is just to keep him off the FA market. They started contract talks at the combine which means to me that they are now working on a new deal and will just need time to hammer out the details to keep Matt as a Bear.
-
Not to mention that he is just 6 ft 190lbs.....we already have like three of those types of WR"s in Bennett, Hester and Knox
-
If Floyd is gone then maybe we need to look at Stephen Hill from Georgia Tech even though he didn't have Floyd's numbers he is taller and faster with good hands that he showed at the combine. But only drawback is he played in the spread option offense and didn't get the ball much. But when he did he averaged 29.5 yards per catch! Can you say really moving the chains ----------->

Raiders linebacker Kamerion Wimbley has half of his salary to be paid by the Radiers. They are in trouble with the cap space situation and may cut him What do you think about getting him to replace Roach?
-
Stinger226 From your list the only ones that i would like to see us go after are listed below. The rest are either something we have already or won't fit into what we will be doing this year. Aaron Ross/CB Laurent Robinson/WR Jeremy Shockey/TE Max Starks/OT Jeremy Suttah/OG Robert Mathis/DE Tracy Porter/CB Tom Zbikowski/SS Jarret Bush/CB
-
To tell you the truth about bench pressing and the NFL....it really doesn't matter what you bench as a lineman because if you can block and weigh 300 to 350 you are in the way of the oncoming rusher. Using your legs you can drive block or push them out of the way. The arms are used mostly to control the guy making him go left or right. So i all comes down to proper technique and desire.
-
TerraTor you need to get back in the gym to build up your draft status.....LOL
-
Well stop thinking about it...he sucks like Webb and he is injury prone so we might get nothing out of him. We need to go after D.Bell from the Bills if you want to get a LT in the FA marget.

It is usless to compare Moose with TO and Moss, because those two had better QB'S throwing them the ball then Moose had. Now put either Moss or TO with Cutlers arm and see what you get. Moss was a monster with Brady and TO did well with Romo and Palmer. I would grab Moss instead of TO because he is younger and has better hands than TO. But here is the tning ...we need to grab Moss then get either Jackson or Bowe..then try to draft Floyd. That would be the best line up to put on the field with Bennett and Hester. Knox might be put on IR to heal up and we could maybe even keep Williams. So how does Jackson/Bowe, Moss,, Floyd and Williams with Bennett/Hester in the slot look to a defense on paper? Can you picture us running the 4 WR set with Jackson/Bowe on one outside Moss on the other outside and Bennett and Hester in the slots? That would be better than what the Packers run.
-
I really don't think that at all...since he himself say that he doesn't have to be the number one WR. He just wants to play.....and I think that the guy has something to prove on the field. I just hope he does it with us instead of against us.
-
First of I will take medication only if you will also. Next you say that I want to bring in Moss and he is kinda like Williams....but then you say that he is better than Williams....so whats your point? You don't have one Moss can be a beast Williams can't. Going after Moss will not have any effect on who we draft as a WR. We still can draft Floyd or sign Bowe/Jackson if we play to win in FA and the draft. You seem in your negative attitude towards Moss that you cant see the advantage he can be on the field. Hell even TO had a good year with the Bengals before he got hurt. Now look at who Moss had throwing him the ball in Oakland, with the Titans and back with the Vikings.....crap. But I will tell you this...if some team we play picks him up and we get torched by him...I dont want you to say another word for 2 months on this board!!!! LOL
-
Since Randy Moss wants to come back and rip the head off someone, by not signing him do you want him to go to a team so he can rip the heads of Tillman and or Jennings our starters from last year. Remember he owned Tillman for awhile when he was with the Vikings. But on the other hand lets say you sign him,....... now would would love to see him rip the heads off......lets say the Packers!!! And not to even mention the Vikings we also play twice. Oh and dont we also play the Titans this year? Then next year we play the Patroits too!! I would love to see him burn up these teams with their weak secondary players and not against us. But mark my words if he goes to a team we play we will lose because of him and our DB not being able to cover him. Picture this if you will......would you rather throw deep to Hester or Knox (if he's able to play) at their height of 6'0/5'11 or to Moss at 6'4 with jumping and wing span to make him at about 7'2????? And remember he can also CATCH the damn ball....much cheaper than Jackson or Bowe is going to be. So what if he takes plays off......if he is the no #2 or 3 than he will have plays off, but when you need him to go deep.........didn't he and Brady score like 29 touchdowns that year they played together? 29 TD'S is more than all of our WR'S have scored together in three years!!!!!!!
-
Well in my opinion you really don't need to have Moss come in and be the NO #1 WR. He would be a huge mismatch for smaller slower DB that try to cover him one on one and that is what we need....more options for Cutler. How many times have you guys seen where Cutler has thrown the ball a little high just for our WR'S to miss the ball leading to int's for the other side? With Moss...he can throw the same passes and Moss will go and get them changing the field position or even scoring touchdowns. Moss as a 3rd WR is what we need!!!
