yes i see the point but hurt and not playing are still the same for both players. So did Albert tell the Chiefs he had bad ankles?

Some uncertainty remains on the offensive line with seventh-round pick Kirk Barton in line for a job but in position to possibly be impacted by Fred Miller. The veteran is out of town at a family wedding this weekend and continues to mull his options, likely with the hope the Bears will move up from their offer of a minimum-salary benefit deal at $830,000. Guard Chester Adams, the seventh-round pick from Georgia, got good news when he learned he suffered only a sprained left medial collateral ligament at Cleveland.

I wouldn't say that his better days are behind him just in Houston they drafted a few players ahead of him and have players filling his role already and are at a cheaper price.
-
It funny you guys are in love with both Braden Albert and Chris Williams and aren't they both like HURT and not playing right now!!!
-
Well you know that he will either not play for that team that already has # 85 or he will spend a great amount to buy that number. LOL this guy is just plain funny.
-
The problem with Hass is not that he can't catch because yes he is a great WR but he is just slow. All of our WR are faster ( not Booker) than him. Its like having Hester at PR/KR or putting let say Davis back there. You know Davis(Hass) can run but is he faster than Hester(other WR---not Booker)

Well here's one for you.......we will see how well Tony Ugoh does this week when we play the Colts. He's their starting tackle.
-
We need help and we can go out and get a guy like Chris Liwienski who was cut from the Jags. He played against us in Minn and can play both G and T and on both sides of the line.
-
Once we signed Jones the Popes days were numbered.
-
I don't know if Polite was a better fullback,...........but he could block better than McCan't block who we kept.
-
That was no suprise to me or him for that maatter.
-
Chris Liwienski that got cut from the Jaguars? He can play all the guard and tackle spots.
-
I hope it's not miller...what about the guy that got cut from Jacksonville that played with the Vikings a few years ago his name is Chris Liwienski, he can play either side and either G or T.

I think we can stop the run. The Colts are not a power running team...they are a team that uses lots of draws and off tackle long handoffs. So if we attack the middle and stay in our lanes or gaps as they say then we will be fine. Addai & Rhodes are not the best of the backs we will face but getting to them and wrapping up will be the key to holding this Colts team. I don't think the Colts tackles can hold Ogun, Anderson and Brown the whole game. As well as we are going to have problems with Freeney and Mathis. But our Ends are bigger than the Colts DE'S but not as fast.

IMHO we can be the Colts next week if we do two things on offense and one on defense. On offense if we can run the ball and control the clock we stand a great chance of winning .....due to the way the Colts are built. They don't have the massive line up front, they use lighter speed guys similar to what we have so they can be blocked out of plays. So if we pound the ball inside and use the 2 TE set we can run on them to the outside. Secondly their corners and LB are not speed guys so we can get Olsen/Davis underneath open and Bradley/Hester/Lloyd open on deeper routes. Also with their speed up front screens and draws will kill them. Not to mention that Sanders and Freeney might not be 100% healthy like they say they are. On the defense side of the ball the Colts offense will be without their starting center so Dusty,Adams and Harris might have something to take advantage of. Manning will be back but will he be 100%, Harrison still has knee issues so we might have a defense that can take advantage of this. So if we can pressure the Colts up the middle we can do damage to Peyton and that offense.

Yes the Bears should have kept Marc Edwards..........he was a better blocker then any of the last 5 fullbacks we had starting for us. AAnd he also could catch the ball. But most of the time I think what you guys are missing with the fullback in trying to get them YAC (yards after the catch) is that they have guys covering them in the short zones. They are slower than your WR so they are covered quicker when the catch the ball. Also its closer to the line so there is not much seperation for the defenders.

Dang........another one lost to the IR team!

The Bears' 53-man roster will include a couple of surprises, as it always does, but this is how it could shape up: Quarterbacks (2): The Bears almost always keep three, but they might go with just Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman and stash promising rookie Caleb Hanie on the practice squad, hoping no other team claims him for their active roster, which is probably a safe bet. Running backs (5 or 6): Matt Forte, Kevin Jones, Adrian Peterson and Garrett Wolfe all appear to be roster locks. Jason McKie might be the only fullback who sticks. Odd men out: RB P.J. Pope and FB Lousaka Polite. Wide receivers (6): Devin Hester and Rashied Davis are the only locks, but it would be shocking if veterans Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd don't stick, and rookie Earl Bennett is a third-round pick. Underachieving Mark Bradley still has upside, which probably buys him one more year to produce, but he's no lock. Odd men out: Mike Hass and Brandon Rideau have shown NFL skills in the past, but the numbers seem stacked against them, unless the Bears decide they can do without one of the veterans. Tight ends (3): No tough decisions here, although Desmond Clark's knee injury could require an additional body besides Greg Olsen and rookie Kellen Davis. Odd men out: Fontel Mines and Marcus Stone. Offensive line (8 or 9): Current starters LT John St. Clair, LG Josh Beekman, C Olin Kreutz, RG Roberto Garza and RT John Tait will be joined by first-round pick T Chris Williams, who is rehabbing after back surgery, and Terrence Metcalf, who was starting at LG before a knee scope. With Williams not expected back until after midseason, there's room for another rookie tackle, either seventh-round pick Kirk Barton or undrafted Cody Balogh. A backup guard spot should go to Tyler Reed or Anthony Oakley. Odd men out: G Ryan Poles. Seventh-round pick Chester Adams could wind up on the practice squad, and so could Barton and/or Balogh, as well as Reed and/or Oakley. Any of them could also be cut. Defensive line (9): Starters Tommie Harris, Anthony Adams or Dusty Dvoracek, Alex Brown and Adewale Ogunleye are sure things, along with Mark Anderson and Israel Idonije, who can play end or tackle, and third-round rookie Marcus Harrison. That probably leaves just one spot for injury-prone DE Dan Bazuin, last year's second-round pick; DT Matt Toeaina, who played well at the end of last season; and seventh-round pick Ervin Baldwin. Odd men out: Two of the last three, plus rookie DEs Joe Clermond and Nick Osborn. Linebackers (6 or 7): Starters Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher and Hunter Hillenmeyer are for sure along with top backup Jamar Williams. Darrell McClover and Nick Roach should make it on special-teams play alone. Odd men out: Michael Okwo, a third-round pick last year, is on thin ice, as is seventh-round rookie Joey LaRocque, unless the Bears keep seven. Defensive backs (9 or 10): CBs Charles Tillman, Nate Vasher and Corey Graham, CB-S Danieal Manning and safeties Mike Brown, Brandon McGowan, Kevin Payne and Craig Steltz are in. CBs Trumaine McBride and fifth-round pick Zackary Bowman aren't sure things, but at least one will make it and maybe both. McBride struggled in camp, but he played better than expected last season as a seventh-round pick. Odd men out: CB Trey Brown, S Leonard Peters. Specialists (3): PK Robbie Gould, P Brad Maynard and LS Pat Mannelly

Yes it sounds silly to me to to put Miller at LT.....unless they want to get Garcia killed! Hey maybe that's their plan. LOL!!!!
-
No way we get rid of Ogun, and we will keep Toeania, but I can see letting Bauzin go and keeping Baldwin instead.
-
Not that I wa-ish bad things to happen to players but this is some what good news, added to that that Sanders, Freeney and Manning ares back but not 100% either makes it look llike we can win this first game against the Colts

Bucs Work Out Veteran OL Miller Posted August 26, 2008 by Roy Cummings Updated Aug 26, 2008 at 04:40 PM TAMPA - The Bucs have been on the lookout for someone to push Donald Penn for the starting left tackle job and they may have found him. Fred Miller, a durable 12-year veteran who has spent his last three seasons with the Chicago Bears, spent part of Tuesday working out for the Bucs at One Buc Place. The Bucs interest in Miller comes in the wake of their decision to let go of veteran Luke Petitgout. Petitgout was struggling to recover from a knee injury and a lingering back problem and had also earned a four-game suspension from the league for violating its steroids policy at the time of his release. The Bucs considered the loss of Pettigout to be significant because it left Penn with only Anthony Davis to push him for the starting left tackle job. Now Miller may be in the picture. Miller is also contemplating re-signing with the Bears and at least one other team, according to his agent, Harold Lewis. He was impressed with the Bucs facility, however, and could make a decision on where to play as soon as today. Miller has missed just three starts since the 1998 season and he has helped pave the way for a 1,000-yard rusher in seven of his last nine seasons. He was part of a Bears line that allowed just 25 sacks in 2006 and his 164 NFL starts include 12 in the postseason.

Manning won't guarantee Week 1 start Posted: Wednesday August 20, 2008 06:41AM ET Quarterback Peyton Manning was in the building Tuesday morning as the Indianapolis Colts went through a get-to-know-you practice session at Lucas Oil Stadium. The question that remains unanswered, though, is: Will the NFL's two-time MVP be on the field when the Colts open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Chicago Bears? Colts owner Jim Irsay conceded "it'll be close on Peyton. Only he will know if he's ready. I think there's a good chance he will be. "We know there's more rehab ahead, but he is on schedule. The anticipation is he'll be ready, but it'll be close." Manning's availability and ability to extend his streak of 160 consecutive regular-season starts have been in doubt since he underwent surgery July 14 to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee. His rehabilitation forced him to miss all of training camp in Terre Haute and likely will keep him off the practice field at least until next week. As for being ready for the Colts' nationally-televised opener against the Bears, Manning offered optimism, not a guarantee. BELOW IS WHAT SOMEONE THINKS OF THE BEARS!!!!!! Meteora16 | 08/20/08, 06:26 PM Report Offensive Comment If he doesn't play in Week 1 of the regular season, I will have my left bursa sac removed. He may not guarantee that he will start, but I will. Meteora-Who is your starting QB? And running back? Who are your tackles? Even if Manning isn't at 100%, the Colts defense will dominate the Bears offense. It could very easily be a shutout if we don't kick it to Hester. The Colts are the superior team at almost every position besides linebacker (which is getting closer). The Colts should beat them easily if Peyton plays and beat them by around 9 if he isn't 100%. As long as we don't overlook them because J-Ville is coming up, we will win this one easily. The Bears couldn't stop Addai and Rhodes in the Super Bowl. They won't be able to stop this team running. These 2008 Colts are the most talented Colts team in the history of the franchise. If we can win our first 8 games, we will get the number one seed for sure. I don't care about 16-0. I'd rather have it not be a possibility. Too much pressure and it would be annoying that it would be a back story on ESPN when the Patriots were forcibly shoved down our throats last year. Meteora-Sorgi sucks. Horribly. You've watched Grossman a few too many times if you think Sorgi is capable of anything QB-related. Hopefully he will be cut and Gray will be the backup. I'm predicting the Colts win this one by 17 but are up by 31 when the 4th quarter starts. We will then send in the scrubs. The Colts are better on NBC. They love the spotlight.
