  1. If they fire him tomorrow, we will win our next game. Book it!
  2. Virginia is the only one with balls, so it'll have to come from her.
  3. I've been simmering on this the last two weeks and haven't found the time. Year one of Poles was, hold on and take the beating and I loved it. Year two of Poles was trade the pick, get Edmonds and Edwards for the price of Roquan. And I loved it until he didn't improve the OL like he said he would. Then trades for Sweat and he became Lord Poles. Year three and my full expectation was drafting our future face of the franchise, get another pass rusher and fix the OL. That's a yes, no and hell no. Instead, he trades a 4th rounder for an injury prone reciever with a 24 million contract, in the best receiver class in years. Then, drafts Odunze instead of OL, or Verse. He could have traded that pick and possibly gotten OL, DL and a receiver. Everett and Swift were both unnecessary signings. Drafting Tory Taylor in the 4th is now a slap on his own face. Poles failure has enhanced Flus' chance of failure this year. Poles has two outta three good years, but his arrogance has really hurt us and Caleb's growth. If Flus goes, Poles needs to go as well. Coaches and GM's should be a package deal when together multiple years. How many times have seen a lame duck GM hire our next coach. Either Poles goes or gets extended. No status quo. I hate to say it because I idolized Poles for the work he was doing. He simply had three years to fix the trenches and it's not close enough for me to endorse him. We lack a dominant pass rusher, a dominant 3T, a LT, an OG and a center. It get gets bigger if Brisker has to retire, because Byard has lost two steps. We also didn't have effective speed at the WR position, as we are nothing but possession types. The roster should be close, but it is not...
  4. I thought 8 or 9 wins. I'm also on record saying Justin and another bounty of picks would have netted is 10+. I'm still happy about the Caleb route, because he can take us somewhere Justin never would.
  5. I say yes to firing Flus. As far as Brown is concerned, I believe he is serving us best from the box. He may indeed be a good HC someday, but he has Caleb cooking from the rule he is playing now. How about Washington? That may be a smoother transition.
  6. What continues to kill us is giving up 3rd down conversations when the odds are hugely in our favor. I believe we gave up four with 10+ yards to go. Our pass rush is terrible and that hurts our secondary.
  7. I don't understand the 2 point conversation attempt. Does the math support more than 50% success rate?

Yeah, it's a philosophy with me. Waldron was supposed to be two TE and heavy run, so Bowers made more sense in my head. I also see the NFL through a fantasy football lense. When looking at players and I'll use Kelce as example. He was scoring like a high end receiver and his theoretical gap with the other TE's has been pretty big over a long span. As a result, I started drafting Kelce like a WR before anyone. (Even the experts). Was I lucky, yes. Even better, I was on to something. My fantasy league is in it's 26th year and they roasted me for drafting a TE in the third round. It got worse when I drafted him in the second. Now, my arch rival has beat me to the punch the last couple of years. It's not the total value that Kelce provides, it's the steady mailbox money points. He's there when called upon. That's what I thought of Bowers and he's more athletic than Kelce. Before Stinger comes in and tells me real football is not fantasy or that I'm wasting brain energy, I'll say, if you parallel the difference making concept, it's here...

We talked about this before the draft. Kmet is a classic inline and Bowers is a classic move. They would have played like a dream in eleven personnel. Bowers would have been very affordable on a rookie contract while Kmet aged. I'm not bitching about Rome because I really like him and trust/ed Poles to make the right call. In the end, I believe both will have great careers. I'm just always looking for a matchup edge...

I still would have taken Brock Bowers. To me he was the biggest matchup problem in the draft...
  11. A bears GM will NEVER have that much power. Kevin Warren will never have that power either. It's like when a mob boss looks at his cappo and says "you know what to do". McCaskey style...
  12. I don't know what to make of this stat. It just seems like one after another...

I thought it was just ok at the time. When I realized no OL help was on the horizon, I hated it. Same with Tory Taylor. Taylor is a stamp that says, "job complete". Nope...
  14. Followed by pulling an unathletic 6-7 355lb tackle, playing guard, against an edge. Nice whiff. Bet that one gets eliminated from the play book....
  15. The crazy part about that play was that defensive coaches were yelling at the players to get up and cover. Flus got lost in the moment and went home with three timeouts in his pocket. That's why he's incompetent.
  16. One thing I heard is that he'll be in the booth. I believe that the best place for an OC. They get a better field view and don't have to deal with the emotion/chaos of the sideline, plus their assistants are easier to converse with in the booth. Sometimes adjustments and creativity come from collaboration.
  17. Under normal circumstances, if Flus goes, Poles must go too. We've already created a situation where Caleb is working with his second coordinator. Do we want a new coach and OC next year, with a lame duck GM? To pull off hiring a new HC and OC, they either fire or extend Poles. Otherwise, the ship is rudderless.
  18. I think the team will respond. Davis' tone is very different from Waldron. It's actually disturbing to hear a coach described as too nice. Even worse, Flus is that nice guy too. Every team needs a couple ramrod coaches and players. Who are ours?
  19. Until the McCaskey's show that they are willing to hire a known bastard as a head coach this franchise is doomed...
  20. We are sitting at 17. My guess is we'll finish with 6, maybe 7 wins. That should put us in the 8-11 draft slot.
  21. I don't think it can be completely fixed. What I do believe is Flus has lost the team. That being said, getting sometime else to call the shots could energize the team. We don't have the OL to have a winning roster, so effort and execution must be maximized just to break even. Booting him now should show the players that soft and incompetent will not be accepted.
  22. Until the McCaskey family completely steps away, the song will remain the same. They literally breed apathy. Perfect boring apathy. Nobody does it better.
