  1. I'm not sure how many people know it, Kyle and Russell have been friends since they were 15.
  2. I like it. We have to hope the new DC sets them loose better than Pagano.
  3. Me too. Something to point out also is that we are one of the oldest teams in the league. That is a problem caused by Pace trading two complete drafts away. Now, if we add a Russell Wilson to the mix, we get older and have even less draft capital.
  4. Hate it. None of them have ever done anything, with plenty of opportunity. I don't have any confidence that poor QB play will elevate anyone. Robinson is the proven go to guy for us. That's why he gets paid by someone.
  5. What you say is accurate regarding other teams. However, those teams don't seem as desperate as we are. It's been talked about all week how the Bears have a substantial package they have offered for Watson. Unfortunately, it has leaked. All told, this team needs to suffer before it gets better. No new QB's and build the fronts.
  6. I like it all except Trask. Draft an edge guy there and it's a huge winner.
  7. Alex Smith is better than Foles and it's not debatable to me. That being said, I never want to see Smith carted off the field again, especially in a bears uniform. My true belief is that we need a year of pain before we get our next QB. Let's ride with Foles and Trubisky again while we build the infrastructure.
  8. We've all known why too. It's the Harvard business model. As long as the family coffers grow, the team will run the same. I think Adam was the first to predict they would stay, due to their contracts and that the family would not pay a new coach and GM while they owe the current regime money this year. In a nutshell, the winning thing is not the fiscal thing to them. Drives me nuts...
  9. You can't fire the McCaskeys. The only hope we have is that they sit back and count their money. Ted Phillips has to go. But, I'm afraid he's made the family too much money. A football man always needs to stand between the owner and the GM. It simply doesn't work as a norm.
  10. I've mentioned this before and it wasn't popular, but I do not think Mac Jones is worthy of a first round pick. In watching him play, his accuracy is elite, but that is it. When he has to move his feet, he is sub par. In the NFL, he will not have time on a consistent basis unless he is with a good OL and surrounded by talent that can separate quickly. I would change my mind if he had elite arm strength to drive the ball into tight windows or if he had any mobility. Again, the accuracy is crazy good and he's a great processor. Definitely not a fit for Soldier Field or Lambeau. The top four will not make it out of the top 10, in which I would hate to see us trade up that far.
  11. I would not care for that. Minshew reminds me of Case Keenum.
  12. FWIW, the Bears never even inquired -per Schefter
  13. Out of those, I think the only one with a chance to be better than Mitch is Darnold.
  14. He's definitely a likeable guy. It also seems like he does the work on what ever he does. I would have liked to have seen him be a little more critical or demanding of improvement in effort. I know Pagano is a really nice guy, but some of our DB's took the year off on physicality.
  15. Heard on Waddle and Silvey that nobody is giving Philly a first round pick for Carson Wentz. Also, it's rumored that we are highly interested in Derek Carr.
  16. I'm thinking he may be available in the 2nd round.

    What if

Nagy is better than average as a HC. His fatal flaw is his fetish for controlling the offense. If he hands the reigns over, we will be much better for it. And yes, he can get us to the next level, but he'll need greater discipline.
  18. I love JJ Watt. That being said, he is not near the player he used to be. I would love to see him in a Bear uniform, but only at a Bear price.
  19. You are entering uncharted waters with that thought. We would be talking about a double re-tread QB being worth a first round pick. The NFL has not seen that yet. The only way I see him worth a first is if he performs well. At that point, why would we get rid of him since we haven't had that since Luckman?
  20. DL is definitely not a strength anymore. If it was three years ago when Hicks was younger and if you call Mack a DE, then it's a strength. I haven't seen interior push from the DL since that time. It all starts up front.
  21. He's never been a re - tread
  22. I wouldn't mind that for 2022, but not this year. We gotta get 2 OL, WR, and RB. If we did go that route: What about a thumper like Rhemondre Stevenson? If you want ball control you need two backs to keep the mill grinding.
  23. Here are my concerns with bringing in Carson Wentz: Pace: he values winning the trade over other teams, not simply winning the trade. His impatience and overconfidence are crippling to this process. Nagy: give this guy a new toy and he's back to play calling again. Nagy is far too undisciplined as a play caller to succeed at this point in his career. Plus, he'll get Wentz killed trying to make his big plays work, which segways to... Wentz: if the knock on him is that he's not coachable, try getting smacked in the mouth and having a whacko call plays for you to see if that makes it better.
  24. c.f. Let's let this sink in for a minute...
  25. In all honestly, Andy Reid could have learned something from how the Bears had to taylor a gameplan to counter terrible OL play in the Lazor offense. Everything underneath was open for them and they failed to play to what the defense offers.
