Count me in on Godwin. He can be our low end #1. Adams would be amazing, but he's going to break the bank and we can't keep killing our cap over guys like him.

That game was stolen. Officials have become partial to their favorites. Cutler was on Waddle and Silvey Friday afternoon and they asked him about the refs. He went on to talk about different crews and knowing when they were going to either get a fair game or get screwed. He also talked about individual refs that like to have their ass kissed and some that were vindictive if you criticized them during the game.

2022 is going to be a major transitional year for the team. We will part ways with close to half of the team. Something else to make the off season interesting is that we'll have to, once again, rely on free agency to field a team. Of course, let's start with the offense. Mooney is the only receiver on the 53 man roster under contract for next year. My thoughts are to draft this position as high as possible. This player must be a true number 1. I'm also good with a solid possession receiver via FA. Running back is stacked, so no need to address. For TE, we have Kmet and Horsted. I would like to re sign James. At OL, we should beg Peters to play one more year. It's crazy that he has clearly been our best OL at an, out of shape, 39 years old. He can play 4 positions. Plus, he's a coach on the field. Next we pray the rookie tackles to meet expectations. Next draft pick goes to IOL, preferably center. Whitehair and Mustipher have disappointed this year. Next draft pick goes to WR. We are weak at this group and Fields needs depth of weapons here. On to defense. This unit is in trouble with being old and overpaid. For the second year in a row, Leonard Floyd would lead us in sacks, at half the price of Quinn. Thanks Pace and Pagano for blowing that wad. I digress. We only have 2 picks left, so we are going to have to make this group "the replacements". Needs are DT, DE, OLB, CB and S. Use our remaining picks on BPA. We're going to sign a lot of UDFA's, and low end FA. We can no longer spend the bulk of our cap on this unit. If we can trade Mack, Jackson and Quinn in the off season for picks that would be great. We also say goodbye to Hicks and Trevathon. Hopefully we can get Ogletree back at a decent price. We're going to give up a lot of points next.

More info had come out and the salary situation changed from 1 mil to 7.5 mil, plus final two years of his contract voided. I honestly don't see why they kissed his ass on this. Also seeing where a lot of the time in his dad's video where Odell was open, he was running improvised routes. I'm out.

I forgot to mention this from a strategic standpoint. We could claim him, pay him the million and trade him in the off season for a pick. And if we are unsuccessful in trade and don't like him, he can be released for zero cap hit.

Let's play devils advocate for a minute, as we've had this argument before regarding T.O. and Brandon Marshall. How could OBJ be different? One thing is, he's still elite. With us having a huge need at WR and being cap tight, we could now get OBJ for 1 mil this year and 13mil the following two. We are getting ready to lose Arob, who can't shake free anyway. OBJ comes out of deep breaks like Tyreek Hill and still has game breaking speed. If he comes in and knows he'll be working with an up and coming Fields, his attitude may become as a mentor. Also, Fields would absolutely have someone he can chuck it to at any time. With Fields deep accuracy and Beckham's ability to high point a ball, this combo could be ridiculous. Let's hear the other side...

There's the age old Bears QB argument that can be had about our failed QB's. Bad OL, bad coaching, no weapons, no defense. Some players lose their resolve after time as well. Get banged up, get paid, have kids, fight injuries, get bored, bad work ethic, drugs and alcohol, married and divorced etc. We weighed the talent difference between Mahomes and Trubisky and their skillsets were eerily similar, but Mahomes performance was eminently better. What was it? The only thing we couldn't equate is what was between their ears. It really goes to show how fragile and important the QB position is. It's the one area where I agreed with and applauded Nagy for protecting Fields as long as he could.

It's skewed, but valid. Peters, Dalton, Graham, Trevathon, Hicks, Quinn and Mack are not the players they used to be. Whether it is a step slower or injury prone their impact is diminished.

We are the oldest team in the NFL. Mack, Quinn, Graham, Hicks, Trevathon, Dalton, Ogletree, Edwards and Foles would provide great value by either gaining a draft pick or dumping their contract. On the younger side, Robinson, Montgomery, Cohen and Jackson might get some value for the future. We really need youth and talent at WR, OL, DB and edge.

I just watched the game and OMG timing is everything. There were so many pivotal plays that cost us the game. Cody Whitehair and Sam Mustipher suck. I'm especially disappointed in Whitehair. He can't figure out how to partner with the center or LT. He was a key figure in two big sacks in the second half and won't get charged with either. Fields overall played well, but sailed a couple presses that could have been daggers. He also rifled a ball deep to Mooney that he should have put some air under. We clearly missed Mack and dare I say Eddie Jackson today. Kudos to Fields, Mooney, Borom and Peters on offense. Nothing really stood out on D. Side note: because I hate Pace and Nagy. Offense had its best game. And Jimmy Graham is our most expensive TE and he doesn't even play in 3 TE sets.

I would definitely extend Monty at a team friendly price. RB's are the most disposable position, so you can't pay him big coin. If we happen to lose him in FA, we'll gladly collect a good comp pick. In the meantime, draft another Herbert next year to keep the pipeline full.

Man, you are rowing a sinking ship. Anytime your program is not good and you get to fire someone and keep your job, it's a scapegoat. The players you mentioned are underperforming due to Nagy and his terrible system. They don't have time to get open, due to the routes taking too long or being easy to defend. There is no time to throw the ball because of the OL. They literally had 8 people pass blocking on the second play of the game and two people came in untouched. They should have fired Nagy the day he said it takes five years to master his system. (And as far Goodwin and Byrd are concerned; they aren't starter quality receivers anymore. They may be fast, but it doesn't show in football speed. And they are smallish)

Another nail in the coffin. I was listening to Waddle and Silvey yesterday and they mentioned an important fact. The offense under John Fox during Mitch's rookie year was far more productive than Nagy Fields. Don't give me shit over the sample size, lol...

You know what's crazy, Mustipher is 315 and supposedly gained strength, but I see what you see. The number one rated center coming out weighs 285, is super strong and athletic. I watched film on him and he's a mauler. It's that kid from Iowa. When you draft a kid like that, did you get a Kruetz or Grasu. He's like an OL version of Aaron Donald.
