  1. Just say no to Stafford. He's taken a beating. Let him go to the Colts where he can be protected.
  2. Did something a little odd. I took every trade proposal that was of the same round and within 5 picks of what I had. Ended up with a bonanza.
  3. Here's another reason to hire Singletary. Everyone knows this is a probationary for Nagy and Pace. Who will the brass trust more to evaluate the dynamic and tell the unabashed truth? Singletary will hurt feelings with real, organization first, truth. He may be the first one they believe when he says Teddy must go.
  4. I think he's too expensive, but who knows.
  5. Just heard Louis Riddick on ESPN Chicago. He said Nagy is dying to get Watson. He knows first hand that Nagy liked Watson more than Mitch. Said Nagy loves, loves, loves Watson.
  6. I bet Eddie Jackson would start hitting people or sit his ass on the bench.
  7. Watson is too expensive. People are saying three firsts to get him.
  8. Stockpiling worthless picks sounds like a Pace victory...?
  9. I think for a year or two he would have the drive.
  10. This is from a Bear Goggles article. And yes it reeked of Nagy... More evidence of Matt Nagy’s flaw as Chicago Bears head coach Moving back to more current events, there were many reasons why the Bears lost to the Packers last Sunday. However, I believe that the main reason the Bears lost this game was that Matt Nagy called a lot of plays that day. He just could not control his compulsion to involve himself calling plays in this pivotal game. The main evidence of Nagy calling plays was the Bears ran less and threw more passes around the line of scrimmage than they had since Bill Lazor took over as their play-caller. There is a long history of West Coast Offense play-callers calling an inordinate amount of passes within five to ten yards off the line of scrimmage and failing miserably in big games. They typically consider it their smart safe move. However, this tactic among other things lacks courage and often demoralizes the offensive players. When the Bears substituted short passes for some run plays to control the time of possession, they lost one of the most important battles of a football game. They lost the intimidation factor. Football players need their emotions to override the physical pain and mental exhaustion that comes from a hard-fought battle. When a football team is winning the battle of who controls the line of scrimmage, it creates big-time confidence and big waves of energy that courses throughout the entire offensive unit. This tactic is the fatal flaw of practitioners of the West Coast Offense. They often eschew run plays for lots and lots of short passes. To make my point, it was not just the reshuffling of the players in the offensive line that made them a better group. It was also letting them dominate at the line of scrimmage by calling more run plays. This fueled the Bears’ offensive line in playing a big part in the Bears’ late-season surge to the playoffs.
  11. Before area of draft, you must consider team depth. If you trade up it costs depth. If you need one guy and your guy is there, go get him. If you are the Bears and have no depth, you just killed the team for another two years if you miss. Conversely, you trade down and build depth so you can play next man up football.
  12. I'm going Wade Phillips. It's not a sexy hire, but neither is Fangio. He has improved every single defense he has ever coached in the very first year. He also adapts every defense he has coached to the talent he was given. He's 73 and knows he's on a last hoorah. I'll take him in a lame duck year over anyone not named Vic.
  13. They know exactly what they are doing. This football team is their life's business. I believe it was said when free agency began that George Halas was rolling over in his grave. They all know the business of football, but they also know money is why they do it.
  14. You would have loved the thread where we were slamming Pace for trading two complete drafts away.
  15. That's Mikey and Ted's Harvard business model.
  16. He definitely has not been a willing tackler and I can't stand to see him line up 15 yards of the line.
  17. I'm going to take a good look at Mac Jones tonight. Kyle Trask getting benched in bowl game is worrisome.
  18. None of the above. I'm going: MT, Foles and a mid QB. Get the cap and OL fixed, then draft a QB high in 2022. I'm willing to have a down year for a small reboot.
  19. Just rattling this off. Robinson is likely too expensive. Wims and Miller are idiots. Mooney is typecast as a #2 but is a prototypical slot. Ridley somehow has not developed. So, in theory, we need to come up with a 1 and 2 WR. How does this get accomplished?
  20. Drew Brees is done. Time to shorten the field and get his ass on the turf. Weakest arm in the NFL.
  21. The ONLY way we can win this game is if we make Brees try to beat us over the top by using multiple run blitzes, press coverage and no soft zone underneath. All defenders up and tight. Hit Brees early and often. If he hangs 40 on us, make him bleed while doing so. Edit: breaking news. Manti Teo is active today, so scrap my plan and hide your women!
  22. That's exactly what I would do. Nobody wants to make check down Mitch their franchise guy. Check down Mitch is a young placeholder QB or high level backup.

    Pick a QB

I picked Darnold. He has literally nothing on both sides of the ball. He would consider a move a blessing. The rest have shown great flaws in better situations.
