Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
Kinda cool rooting for Lovie again. As much as I hate losing, sitting at the top of the draft could be lucrative.

What's Best for 2024?...
Yes, Quenton Johnston. If they like him that would be great. I watched video and read a good scouting report on the The Athletic. He's a Christian Watson that runs good routes with excellent hands.

What's Best for 2024?...
I'm simply fixated on three positions this off season. Number one type reciever, OL and DL. I'm not convinced that Fields skillset is good enough to overcome the lack of a true number one and the fronts. My tagline at the old site was, "It all starts up front". I still believe that to be true after all these years. There is only one chance at a number one this year, and it's through the draft. (Unless an unforeseen trade occurs) The front lines can be made solid through FA, trade and the draft. If we land at the 2 spot, I think we can get our number one and have the draft clout to stock it up front.

Jeudy would be perfect if Claypool emerges. I don't have faith in ESB and Harry to amount to anything but a good blocker. It was very nice to see Jones track that ball yesterday. After that, I like Mooney and Pettis. Mooney, Claypool, Jeudy, Jones, Pettis and two picks 23' and 24'.

Go Lovie! Remember all of the meaningless games he win for us at the end of the season. Used to drive Jason and others nuts. Oh the good old days...?

What's Best for 2024?...
As long as the reciever is a stud for us in 2024. If you go back 8 years of Superbowl winners, you won't find a winner without at least one stud reciever. Most have two. Reciever is very key in today's football.

What's Best for 2024?...
Here's a draft focussing on 2024. I really like Quentin Johnston out of TCU, but can see drafting him before 6. So, I traded down a couple of times to get the second best WR. This draft has it all.

My observations after Eagles game
Leatherwood can improve. He has the prototypical physical traits. It seems he dominated at the collegiate level on pure talent. As a pro, he's a little soft and late by just a hair. Players that get beat, over compensate by leaning. That was greatly noted when Leno was going through his issues. Leatherwood needs to want it so bad that he hits the fight button and stays there. Late feet, late hands, weak punch and late ass-set all lead to lack of aggression and confidence. (Both are mental) If he truly wants to make it, he can and will. Right now, it doesn't seem so.

My observations after Eagles game
They have optims on how they'll do it, but please never mention Tevin Jenkins as a tackle candidate again. Same deal as Kyle Long. Leave the stud where he is a stud...

Dieter is s great cold weather name. Get him in there!

My observations after Eagles game
Jones and Jenkins are set. I wouldn't be surprised if Patrick is our center next year. Whitehair is not worth 14 mil, so I'm looking to get him to take a cut or be cut. Leatherwood is worse than my "fatal flaw" commentary, as I watched Greg Gabriel break him down. I failed to mention that he's waist bending instead of knee bending. I would try him at left guard and if he can't do that, he's out. Will Borom ever be good enough? For next season, give me a massive upgrade at LG and RT and draft our future center.

My observations after Eagles game
I'm thinking a little more like Stinger. For continuity, I'd rather see two good upgrades come in and think they would help improve the others, especially when young guys are expected to improve. Money is funny, even when it's crazy abundant. Looking at years and balance between O and D are imperative. I don't want to see us in any sort of cap situation for at least five years.

Week 15 Official Game Thread - Eagles at Bears, DEC 18th, 12pm, FOX, PHI -9, O/U 49
Brisker definitely hit the wrong gap. He basically ran into a pile of Bears instead of the huge hole Hurts ran through.

My observations after Eagles game
Picking up stunts isn't very difficult if everyone is on the same page. The best two we've had is Jenkins and Jones. It's seems on a weekly basis that someone is late on a switch off. The adjustment becomes more difficult when there is blitzing, but that's not the case here. I'm going to give Whitehair a pass here, due to him entering the game as our highest rated OL. Sometimes that guy on the delay stunt is the running backs responsibility. I forget what quarter it was otherwise I'd look on my DVR.

The dude came in like a bullet, so the head got sacrificed to maintain body positioning.. Jenkins not only stopped him in his tracks, but also turned him. Very difficult.

My observations after Eagles game
Leatherwood has a fatal flaw that he must fix or his career is done. When he gave those 2 quick sacks, the exact mistake happened. Pre contact his positioning was good. His next move should have been a strong punch, directly followed by a one foot step to the right. At that point, he should lock on and ride him him out. His failure started with the punch, it was weak and failed to slow the defender down. When you follow that without sliding your feet, your QB is done for quickly. He is different from Borom because he actually read it well. Even if he punches and slides, he can still be beaten with a bull rush, but not so quickly. Clean it up kid!

santos is TOAST
That was terrible. However, the coaches should have never put him on that position in the first place. The special teams coach should have made that call for him. The side wind was terrible down there, so it was the correct call. Just should never put the player in that position.

Yes to both

Looks like he got his first good stinger. The burning pain and numbness scare the crap outta you. BTW-that was an all pro block he put on that guy.

Week 15 Official Game Thread - Eagles at Bears, DEC 18th, 12pm, FOX, PHI -9, O/U 49
We were bereft of talent at the WR position. Poles knew we would be a running team this year, so he drafted a guy that was compared to Deebo on size and speed hoping to get a weapon. So far, I've not seen much. Where Deebo seems to play faster than he looks, Velus does not look fast, agile out strong with the ball in his hands. He was begging for a PI call and want within 5 yards of the ball. You gotta fight toward the ball to get that call. This was all while the DB had him blanketed at full speed. He's going to have to man up.

Our WR's are mostly retreads. Not good. It's rare that a change of venue brings positive results.
