  1. I would only argue one thing as far as this season is going. They need to get back to making Fields throw the ball. Give him the Kurt Warner training from American Underdog. He has got to speed that clock up.
  2. Since Poles has extra money to play with, I'll keep Whitehair. He's our most consistent OL and he can play center. I forget whether he was good at that or not. If good, he could be the fix at center, especially if Leatherwood turns it around. I think Leatherwood came into the league not ready to make the next step. In reading his draft profile, intensity was a red flag. He may have that gentle giant mentality. That trait can be coached out of a guy. I know this personally from being coached. My coach had to deeply hurt my feelings by not giving me the letter I earned my junior year. He explained it to me during my senior year while earning all conference and all county honors. I would have been all nothing if he hadn't given me that lesson. Wounded pride may allow Leatherwood's beast to come out. If he makes the transition, we only need to obtain a center and a tackle. Preferably one that can play left or right.
  3. On a lighter note; what are the odds on Fields throwing the most football's off of peoples heads for a season? I have him at four so far...?
  4. I've been debating myself on this one. If we trade out of three, we can get a bounty of picks. What's worth more two to three starter upgrades at DL or one blue chip DL. Sometimes I think of the odds and sometimes it's the what could be if they are generational. Do you get Aaron Donald or Tommie Harris? Tommie was great while healthy, but it didn't last long enough.
  5. I didn't understand this one. Too much Fields running. Why aren't they throwing to the one on one matchups on the outside? We should see at least 6 of those per game. Bad game plan today.

100% spot on. Also, nobody is desperate enough to give a 2nd or 3rd for Eddie. Keep him on the books and hope he performs again. He still doesn't want to hit anyone, but if we upgrade the DL he won't have to. I think we are no longer in the market to trade any assets, as we are not deep enough to absorb any more losses. From here on out, we build with what we have.
  7. For the offense to improve we need must sure up the interior of the OL and get a dynamic every down receiver. On defense, the entire DL needs upgraded.
  8. If we could Trubisky the Lions, THAT would be hysterical. I agree with your generational talent statement, but it comes with a cautionary tale. Remember when we traded out of the 4 spot to parlay that into Alex Haynes and Rex Grossman? I forget the DT that everyone was going crazy for at that spot, but his career was crap. Ours didn't didn't do much either, but at least we got two starters. Can't wait to see where we land and how players grade out.
  9. If we land here and Levis is still there, the Colts, Falcons, Commanders and Bucs are serious trade partners to screw the Lions. Moving up to 6 would expensive and I like it.
  10. It is too early to judge any failure, but the look and feel test tells me he's been a tremendous success. He is doing exactly what I wanted done last year. I think he hired the right coach, who in turn hired the right OC and OL coach. He did the best he could with the resources he had and had placed us in a position where we will have an abundance of options for next year. This is the patient, foundation first, approach. I expect a large investment in the trenches will occur and it will be according to plan. I'm a huge fan...

Absolutely. I want one at WR and RB for a three level threat.

I was thinking the 6-8 mil range. Low end starter. Running back by committee. I'd like them to draft a home run hitter at RB.

I like him on a deal commensurate to his production. Herbert is clearly better.
  14. Something to look forward to for sure. Time to work on the passing game a little more now that the run action is solid.
  15. The first I remember was Bobby Douglas.
  16. Da'ron Payne, Nichols Morrow, Tremaine Edmonds would be an awesome start. Payne is a good pass rusher from the DT position. Edmonds is an Urlacher type of athlete that would play well in the middle. This draft is big on edge guys, so I see us filling that there. Priority for defense is still finding our 3 tech. That may make it harder to trade our first rounder for more picks.
  17. Agreed. This will be fun when Adam gets involved to let us know who's available as free agents, so we play GM with "who to draft, who to sign". I predict we draft more defenders than offense.
  18. Sapp was special like Aaron Donald is now. I'd love a guy like that or a Micah Parsons type of player. Even though corner is not an issue, I'd draft a Sauce Gardner. But if they can't get someone that they feel is generational, they gotta trade it.
  19. They took notice. I watched it all. Justin has made the transformation from overwhelmed to overwhelming. Claypool was obviously huge, ESB cannot be counted on to be that physical guy on the edge.
  20. Same. Greeney and company were blasting the other teams for not drafting Fields. I like the bullet train comment from the announcer yesterday.
  21. Fields is turning into a unicorn. He has natural talent and intelligence, combined with measurables we have not seen, other than Josh Allen. Allen is bigger, but Fields is faster. Once Fields develops a quicker trigger, he'll ascend to elite. I couldn't be happier for what I'm seeing. This off season is going to be five months of Christmas.
  22. I was going to post the exact same thing. In my anger, I kept it short and to the point. Yes, we are weak up the middle. For DL, I can see 2 drafted and 2 as FA for sure.
  23. I couldn't be more disappointed in the officiating.
  24. Yup!
