Agreed. If he lights it up, we win regardless of a few million. When you look at the value, it brings back tens of millions in value.

Here's another topic for the state of the bears. Nobody in the national media has us rated in the top 20. Let that sink in. We have a championship caliber defense, which is half of the equation. So they think our offense is going to be so bad that it will drag our top 3 defense to 22 in team rankings. That's ESPN, SI, NFL, CBS and the Sporting News. They all hate our team and we went 8-8.

I know what tenacity means. Rudy was the epitome of the definition.(and the chicken hawk when he was after Foghorn, oh and Wile E Coyote) I'll take skill and instinct in a safety over tenacity. I prefer my road runner under glass.

You lost me at tenacity. How does tenacity prevent injury? Or did I read it wrong?

Definitely love the mauler mentality. NFL defensive linemen will steal his lunch money though. He has a good two years of work to do before he can even make a practice squad, IMO.

Just watched the video. He has two good qualities, strength and mean streak. After that, he has no speed and the lateral agility of Frankenstein's monster. Unless they can unlock his hips, he'll be absolutely useless.

Many on this board, me included, felt that Pace had a great opportunity to trade down a net us a few extra picks. Seems like that opportunity was available at both picks and Pace stood pat. My guess is that got what they hoped for all along. Would you have drafted differently? Ifedi and Spriggs have lost their pedigree. They better come in in -shape and hungry. Leno must be put on notice. He has to work his ass off to be average. Will cast offs be enough to motivate him? I'd be smoking a cigar right now if I were him.

Nor did we draft anyone that can merely challenge him, let alone motivate.

If they draft OT in the 7th, I will hate Pace forever.

He traded a 4th to get a guy in the 5th. He's rated the 166th best player and we have the 163rd pick. SMH. He just can't help himself. BTW-I've been mocking him too, so I'm definitely rooting for him.

Clearly from our first two picks Pace is drafting to win now. The reason I wanted to draft an OT high is for the same reason. For starters, teams that draft OL early and often generally have a good to great OL. We simply don't find enough time in that slot. Bobby Massie is reaching the age and attrition where he is going to miss games and/or fall off on production. (IE: last year) Then, we move to Charles Leno. Some say it was the wedding. Some say it's the baby. Fact is, he didn't put in the work and basically stole his paycheck last year. He is a marginal athlete which makes his dedication in the weight room essential. You can tell from many of his breakdowns that he wss cheating his craft because he didn't have the strength to hold his technique. Some say, why draft an OT early when we don't have many pics? He's not going to start anyway. My answer is this. Who do you want motivating Leno to work hard to keep his job. Who do you want coming off the bench when Massie gets hurt? Who do you want protecting your quarterback, especially if we draft a new one next year? Pace must stop moving up in the draft. He's cost us the equivalent of an entire draft on his short tenure. That is the sole reason we don't have the core strength at our depth positions. The only way I'll accept him doing that again, is if he somehow can get Trent Williams.
