Courtney Cronin said he was competing for a starting position a couple of hours ago. RE: Hippolyte
-
From what I've read, he's taking reps at guard for depth.
-
Are you hearing this from anyone credible?
-
Makes him highly marketable too...

I does matter if only one team is getting the benefit of calls. They refs provided a 14 point swing in that game. I had no skin in that game whatsoever, but I lost a lot of faith in the NFL over it. Crazy enough, it was the Swifty effect. There was a 20 percent bump in viewership when she was known to be at games and European swag sales and purchased games for club parties exploded. My buddy coaches an NFL academy team out of Nuremberg Germany and said it's insane the growth and interest. Coaches, GM's and owners call bullshit on it and KC got their ass waxed as result. Lord Mahomes even took a good blow to the head that was blatant and not called. Hopefully, the NFL is done with that crap.

It all may be too much too little too late. He could easily sign a contract and lazy out like Nate Davis. It's up to Braxton.
-
Multiple other things Thayer said was that Braxton is looking stronger as time goes and that he really needs to concentrate to sink his hips properly. He also and said that Braxton has a footwork issue at times, when deciding which way the defender is going to try to defeat him. Lastly, he said Braxton needs to really hit leg day in the gym and sky's the limit, because he has seen him do everything he had critiqued him for. The tools are there, he just needs to lock in and work in the off-season.

Listening to Thayer today, he said the LT battle is between Braxton and Benedet. It's basically Braxton's job to lose. It also looks like Benedet is gonna make the 53. He truly believes Trapilo is a classic right tackle for now, stating that you just can't flip a switch and change sides. It takes time. He also noted Trapilo looks good at right. Carmen even brought up, that it might be best to light a fire in Wright, as next year they'll have to decide on his fifth year option.

I accidentally deleted my recording. PHX or Jason will have to do it. The eye test looked really good, but I was watching as a fan.
-
Detroit actually wanted Goff. The GM is on record way before that trade was made that he was a fan.
-
I hope so. The thing I'm looking at cautiously, is that we played their second string and they didn't throw anything exotic at Caleb. Caleb still has to clean up his footwork and that ball tap he does before throwing. KC is playing their starters this weekend, so we may see more. I'm also interested in seeing the plays after the scripted ones are used. Unfortunately, we won't see that until regular season.
-
TOP was crazy too...
-
Yup. We are going have to keep it that way 80% plus to activate the deep shots and slow crossers. Play action needs to be great...
-
Cool. I'm drinking tonight, so I'll watch the tape tomorrow. OL looked good through rum goggles...
-
A lot of positives from this half. Caleb looked the part and Bagent can start in this league...

Play action is the number one way to slow a pass rush. The defenders can't go until they determine the runner doesn't have the ball. It also allows the offensive lineman to initiate immediate contact. It's where Goff made his money last year. It also plays to the strengths of the right side and our 12 personnel mismatch. Don't get me started if we develop a read option package. That would an immediate advantage, as it was not something Goff could do.
-
Highly doubt it. I've been writing before, but I'd actually put money on Braxton and Darnell. Coaches are literally trying to light a fire. Almost begging...
-
Definitely. I remember saying a couple of weeks ago that if the LT is average, it's not a bad thing. As far as pass rushers are concerned, they say you gotta have three. We think we have two in Sweat and Dayo. It would be great to see an interior guy step up or Booker. They've talked about sliding Dayo and Dexter over a spot in passing downs. Booker could flourish in that.
-
It's like they are tearing Braxton down to the studs, while simultaneously telling the young guys to go take it.
