  1. I watched the presser again today and it really looked like Nagy and page we were on the same page. They were both very non committal, except for their support of Mitch.
  2. Did anyone hear Dave Gettleman speak on Trubisky today on ESPN? It was pretty damning. He essentially said that the book on Trubisky is out, saying he can't throw deep to his left. They game planned him knowing his deficiencies. He said, at this point, a vet has to come in and compete and in no way he would have publicly endorsed Trubisky the way Pace did. Nagy risks losing the team if Trubisky is handed the job. This is the first active GM gong on record with this opinion.
  3. Hold on for a second. I rarely disagree with you, but damn. Patterson was only there for one year and they already had Gronk. Saying BB failed to convert him is a monster stretch. Considering that they have never developed a rookie receiver to contribute in their first year tells all you need to know about BB on that regard. I see nothing to suggest that Patterson can't play 20+ snaps a game at the TE and H position.
  4. There were actually some things in this game I loved. Nagy played to win with his starters. In doing so, he sends a clear message or two. One: as bad as you sucked this year, you are going to grind this one out and show me some heart. Two: who wants to be on this damn team next year? I also loved the way our OL pushed Monty into the end zone. It's the first time I've seen this effort all year. As bad as the OL has played all year, it lets them know they can get it done with a little heart. Trubisky had the have in his hands and made a huge 4th down play.(Build that confidence) Lastly, we end the season on a game winning FG. Ugly, ugly game with some things to build on.
  5. Stay the course, but bring in a vet.
  6. OL and pass rush are definitely the top two priorities. After that, it's speed WR and DB. TE is position of need, but not as high as the others. Holtz, Horsted, Burton and a draft pick should satisfy the TE position. I still think Patterson should get a look at it, as he is physical and a nasty matchup.
  7. Agreed on strength inside. My hope is to get a big nasty in the second round. I want to see tape on second level effort. That's something our guys are not getting done.
  8. Fire Helfrich and promote Childress to OC. Childress can bring a much needed level head to the game plan. We know Nagy is ultimately the OC, but Childress can be the balance as Helfrich is likely the opposite. Fire Pagano. The discipline was not there. Pagano has always been known as a players coach and it shows in our lack of discipline. He's been known to be a ballsy play caller and it really looked like he neutered our defense. Dream scenario for replacement is Rivera. Unfortunately, he'll be an HC again, but maybe we talk him into a couple of years at a chance of a Superbowl. Cut Long, Gabriel, Shaheen and Prince. Let Ha Ha and Trevathon walk. Extend Patterson and Robinson as they were our best playmakers this year. Trade Leno to Washington for Trent Williams. Will have to eat some of Leno's contract but who really cares when you get this massive upgrade. Rehab or cut Burton. I wouldn't extend him one week with all the money he's already stolen from us. Also, Patterson is as big and physical as any of our TE's and waaaay more athletic. Why is he not getting time at that position? He would be winning matchups all over the field. Draft a mauler of an OG, an athletic TE, a pass rush specialist, a burner of a WR, a DL and a couple of DB's. Sign Mariotta and cut Chase Daniels.
  9. I would love to add Trent Williams somehow. He's a beast. We could easily add a young mauler at OG in the second round. Best case scenario is we trade Leno for Williams and eat some of Leno's money. New blood will get them all in the weight room!
  10. Wholesale changes like that are rarely fruitful. It takes time to build an OL. My thoughts are to meet with them at seasons end and tell them to put there man pants on. Maybe say goodbye to someone to send a message or let them know they'll be cut at the last possible moment so they can't get a good contract elsewhere. Light a fire. Draft someone highly and bring in a hard core vet. I see two, there at the most.
  11. Next year will be huge for Nagy and it will tell us all we need to know. He screwed up this year and knowingly admitted it. Once he got booed off the field in the Chargers game, things changed for Trubisky. That shows Nagy can adapt. Next year will be to overcome! If he can not develop a run game, then he must go. Trubisky cannot survive without being able to play action. He simply does not have the weapons that Mahommes has.
  12. Yeah, I remember a play where he went sideline to sideline and did a superman dive to break up a pass. The announcer went on record to say that he was the only MLB in history that should make that play.
  13. I'm growing weary of all the Mahomes Trubisky comparison. If you put Mahomes in the situation Trubisky had as a rookie till now is not even close in terms of supporting talent and coaching experience. Let us have Travis Kelce out Tyreek Hill for just one week. We don't have a single offensive player that they are envious of. I hope Trubisky fully kicks his ass Sunday.
  14. Agreed. Leno's replacement must be on the team first. Or they must be easily replaced. I just don't want cap issues manning is settle on keeping players we know are not worth it. I would honestly look at trying to rework Leno and Massie in the off season.
  15. I think Tannehill is staying put. If we are looking for a backup to Trubisky, how about Mariota? They kinda have the same skill set. I also think we need to cut who is underperforming the most, regardless of cap hit. Time to shake the dead weight tree even if it's painful. Sends a great message.
  16. I would say OL, pass rush, CB, TE.

    Hicks Returns

As long as he helps plant Rodgers ass on the grass, I'm happy...?

    Leno

Plain and simple with Leno. If he's not at his best, his talent isn't good enough. I see a guy that really needs to re-dedicate to the weight room. You get bull rushed because you didn't spend time at the squat rack. You go a little higher with your hands because your initial punch shows that you haven't been working the incline bench in the off-season. When a lineman is weaker than his opponent, he starts to cheat the fundamentals. He starts to guess and over compensates his movement by leaning or overstepping. All of his problems look to be from lack of conditioning on the weight room. He knows it as well as his team mates and coaches. He'll fix it this off season or the contingency Pace WILL bring in will have a shot.
  19. If we have space to buy, my vote is to retain Patterson. I like the energy he brings and feel that there is even more to him than we are tapping. His combination of size, speed and power is crazy.

    Leno

He has definitely been a liability in the run game. He has played well in pass protection, as I have rarely seen our QB blasted from the blind side. Miller made him look like a fool last week on the wildcat play. Miller was supposed to crack and allow Leno to pull. If we get our right side back to mauling people, Leno will be much better off. Imo, the whole team is playing better with the weight of the slump off their backs. Look how tight Dallas was last week. You could see it all over their sideline. Our boys are learning to win the right way by grinding wins and effort. Last year created a huge expectation that they didn't completely earn through a steady rise. Let's watch it get turned up a notch this weekend.

    Leno

Leno had two things happen to him last year. He got paid and got engaged. I'm sure that took a lot away from his off season strength training. He can turn it around if he regains his focus on football.
  22. You don't watch NBA, do you? Lol. Agreed, this is the worst year ever for refs.
