  1. The only one I know of is a co-worker of mine. When we got Mack, he said "it's over" and went on to predict a division championship. I changed my prediction from 7-9 to 8-8 after Mack. That's why I get a little tense when folks tend to dwell on the negative.
  2. It would be smart to extend Floyd before he blows up. Keeping our pass rush inline will be huge for the future.
  3. I like the fact that we don't have that one guy that is consistently targeted. It also shows a good combination of play calling and Trubisky making good progressions. Another thing I love is the unpredictability of Nagy with the gadget plays and personnel utilization. It simply gives opposing teams "everything" to prepare for. Advantage Nagy.
  4. Holy bipolar growth chart Batman!
  5. One thing we will have to remember on every team building thread we have, is that we are now a place that free agents REALLY want to come. Teams in the window get a price break on FA's for a chance at glory.
  6. Since, you now, are being a condescending dick. Let me point out that I actually played football. I seriously doubt you have. As far as the simpleton comment is concerned, I find it laughable, as your football IQ is usually not worth responding to. Context... You may now have the final word, because I'm out.
  7. That is exactly the point regarding context. We were beating the brakes off of the number one team in the league and you were critiquing. That's just weird to me. Trubisky is more than Grossman ever was. He'll win us a Superbowl, but it may be his way, not yours.
  8. I'm both looking forward to and dreading this game. This is the Packers Superbowl and we should treat it as such. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  9. Exactly! It's context related and "for the love of God", consider the source. We've had wins because the defense killed it and some because MT did. Those old enough to remember our last Superbowl know Jimmy Mac was far from perfect, yet he's a Bear legend for his contribution. MT had a clunker of a game, but still made plays to help us while out playing his counterpart.
  10. Good morning all! I'm still beaming from last nights game. On the Trubisky talk, I tend to focus on the positives, as that is all my simpleton mind can handle. Let's compare last nights quarterbacks and see how they stacked up. Trubisky lead in: TOP, passing yards, completion pct, TD's, first downs, 3rd down conv, rushing yards and head to head wins. ? Goff lead in turnovers, sacks and YPC. Yay! But, he'll go to the pro bowl as a consolation. Trubisky made one dumb decision, all game, that we know of. Two of his INT's were great reads to wide open receivers.(Yup, he sailed them) Shoulder, check. Win, check check!! ?
  11. But yet beat the great Jared Goff. Get a grip. We are winning with this guy...
  12. And has huge hands. Goff has small hands.
  13. This is a statement game on different levels. People I talk to are still not on board with our team. I've heard everything from, "you win on defensive TD's" to "they haven't played anyone yet". My thoughts are that a "wins are wins", "good teams find a way" and "any given Sunday". Everyone believes we are a team in the rise. Sunday night will display how close we are, if we are not already there.
  14. There has been a lot of talk about the surprise and promise of our young team. Did anyone here or nationally predict 8-4? Nah. We have also read some very good analysis that shows we are amongst the top of the league in many aspects. But yet some are pessimistic about the remainder of the season. This year has truly shown me that one or two plays can swing the balance of any game. We have seen that in all four of our losses this year. This season anything can happen. Don't look for the window to be open next year, because it is open now!

    Puckers

Could possibly be. Dude won't speak to his own family. What kind of guy donates a million dollars to wildfire relief and doesn't call his mom to see if she's ok? Something amiss...
  16. I'm with AZ on this one. Let's see how it plays out. Nagy and Daniel will have a great idea of what his character is. Plus, I know Reid will disclose everything to Nagy privately.
  17. Trubisky confirmed that he sustained the injury late in the Bears' 25-20 win over the Vikings when he was hit by safety Harrison Smith on a 5-yard scramble. Rather than sliding, Trubisky tumbled forward and was nailed by Smith, who drew a 15-yard penalty on the play. "It was just an awkward landing, and then I got hit, and my arm got caught underneath me the wrong way," Trubisky said. "It was really just a freak play and I didn't know what happened at the time. Luckily, I was able to finish out the game and more importantly we won."
  18. At least we can find solace in knowing they only won 2 Superbowls while SF got 5 out of Montana and Young in 20 years. Have any other teams had back to back HOF QB's?
  19. I think it's deeper than that, in that the entire blocking scheme has changed. This offense is predicated on speed and what they are asking Howard to do does not match his downhill style. Instead of beating the defense to the point of attack, he has to beat them at the point of attack from not having that initial quickness of a Cohen or Hunt. Simply not his style.
  20. Honestly, Howard looks like a fish out of water. I don't blame anyone, but can see him being traded. His skills and especially style are not a fit for what the future holds. Some team will be happy to have him; hopefully at a good price for us. He is a good player.

    2006 vs 2018

That's like that Lincoln and Kennedy thing going around, lol.
  22. He's less mobile with a stronger arm than Smith, so I'm going to compare him to Fitzpatrick.
  23. I didn't see or read anything into that play. He also threw well after.
