  1. And has huge hands. Goff has small hands.
  2. This is a statement game on different levels. People I talk to are still not on board with our team. I've heard everything from, "you win on defensive TD's" to "they haven't played anyone yet". My thoughts are that a "wins are wins", "good teams find a way" and "any given Sunday". Everyone believes we are a team in the rise. Sunday night will display how close we are, if we are not already there.
  3. There has been a lot of talk about the surprise and promise of our young team. Did anyone here or nationally predict 8-4? Nah. We have also read some very good analysis that shows we are amongst the top of the league in many aspects. But yet some are pessimistic about the remainder of the season. This year has truly shown me that one or two plays can swing the balance of any game. We have seen that in all four of our losses this year. This season anything can happen. Don't look for the window to be open next year, because it is open now!

    Puckers

Could possibly be. Dude won't speak to his own family. What kind of guy donates a million dollars to wildfire relief and doesn't call his mom to see if she's ok? Something amiss...
  5. I'm with AZ on this one. Let's see how it plays out. Nagy and Daniel will have a great idea of what his character is. Plus, I know Reid will disclose everything to Nagy privately.
  6. Trubisky confirmed that he sustained the injury late in the Bears' 25-20 win over the Vikings when he was hit by safety Harrison Smith on a 5-yard scramble. Rather than sliding, Trubisky tumbled forward and was nailed by Smith, who drew a 15-yard penalty on the play. "It was just an awkward landing, and then I got hit, and my arm got caught underneath me the wrong way," Trubisky said. "It was really just a freak play and I didn't know what happened at the time. Luckily, I was able to finish out the game and more importantly we won."
  7. At least we can find solace in knowing they only won 2 Superbowls while SF got 5 out of Montana and Young in 20 years. Have any other teams had back to back HOF QB's?
  8. I think it's deeper than that, in that the entire blocking scheme has changed. This offense is predicated on speed and what they are asking Howard to do does not match his downhill style. Instead of beating the defense to the point of attack, he has to beat them at the point of attack from not having that initial quickness of a Cohen or Hunt. Simply not his style.
  9. Honestly, Howard looks like a fish out of water. I don't blame anyone, but can see him being traded. His skills and especially style are not a fit for what the future holds. Some team will be happy to have him; hopefully at a good price for us. He is a good player.

    2006 vs 2018

That's like that Lincoln and Kennedy thing going around, lol.
  11. He's less mobile with a stronger arm than Smith, so I'm going to compare him to Fitzpatrick.
  12. I didn't see or read anything into that play. He also threw well after.

    Draft RB

I'm thinking everything is on the table. Since we're talking RB, what happens if they trade Howard for a 3rd? If that occurs, RB is well in play early. Or Le'veon Bell anyone?
  14. I don't think we completely know yet. We do know that we have a "any given Sunday" type of team that can beat anyone. So far, we are too young and inexperienced to have an identity. We are closer on D than we are on O. I'm looking forward to see if Fangio gets away from the vanilla enough to dial up some terror. If that can happen successfully, then we'll have an identity.
  15. This game is going to be a slugfest. The 12th man pulls the team through with blue collar toughness. Bears 24-21
  16. Trubisky's QBR is 7th, passer rating 19th, completion pct 14th and a 16-7 TD-INT ratio. Not too shabby.
  17. I agree. A 32 point road victory is just that. I can't wait for Trubisky to stop over throwing the deep pass, cause it's going to get ugly when he does!
  18. I'm all about starting with OL. Long and Massie, for different reasons, cannot be counted on. After that, we need to look at selective BPA. There's a good history of players you can get in FA, but others are not so easy to come by. I can see a speed back from a small school in the mix, with a dash of OLB and DB. TE, QB, DT and WR shouldn't be on the list.
  19. I'm thinking it's his ability to execute the offense. Bellamy already knew it so he gets a leg up. That being said, I'd like see him get more opportunity, but not at the expense of someone more productive. There's the rub.

    Buffalo...

From what I'm seeing tonight, we cannot take Buffalo for granted.
  21. Good that they are both sitting. If we can't beat the Jets without them, we don't deserve anything as a team.
  22. Agreed. It was almost like Fangio thought if he put Mack out there that they would be forced to game plan against him. However, the first time an OT locked in with him, everyone knows he had no push and would be no threat. Sometimes coaches out think themselves.
  23. That first one was completely on the receiver. He didn't use his positioning first and second he got out fought for the ball. One play you are referring to was in the right side of the end zone where Robinson didn't win a battle he was supposed to. He was nowhere near ready to catch that ball. We can argue the other there later, if you wish.
