  1. Yes, forgot to mention Floyd. He's going to be a terror.
  2. Trubisky is the real deal. Just watched the replay and am stoked! Shaheen is also a stud. Bullard looks ready to emerge. Very different look so far...
  3. "Well, it was two different guys at center," Fox said. "Again, he is a rookie. First day in pads, our linemen, the centers a little more anxious to get off the ball because there is quite a bit of force getting ready to hit them. So it's not just the quarterback. First day, getting used to the new center and new quarterback."
  4. Did some of my own recon today. We're at the Ripken Experience at Pigeon Forge and I ran into a teammate of Adam Shaheen. Happens to be one of his best friends. Couldn't say enough good about. Says he's the smartest guy he knows. Guess he carried a 3.9 GPA. And... A physical freak...
  5. These are the same type of critics that redrafted last years draft. 3 bears rookies from last year were taken in the first 20 picks. It's all horse crap until the games are played.
  6. Even though we have a bunch of mid level guys, stats never support that type of distribution unless you are Brady or Brees.
  7. Didn't he make his bones in the slot?
  8. We hit the jackpot if Glennon has an above average year. Teams will be knocking on our door to give us a great draft pick for a guy that cost 18mil for one season and exceeded expectations. That's a win win. What do we have to lose if he sucks? 18mil, but we get a great draft slot again. Welcome Mr Trubisky...
  9. Whitehair is not moving to LT. Give it up. You will see Long there before that happens. I don't want it to happen, as I think a blue chipper should be drafted.
  10. Of the 5 OL positions guard i's the easiest to change. The reason they didn't do this last year was for that dreaded C word. Massie and Long worked out together all off season. Since they could not move Massie, Long was the only stable force on the entire OL, with the young Grasu on the other side. This the reason we didn't go 0-16. As for this year, all potential starters were on the system last year, so it's less painful to swap all pro guards. Lastly, the muscle memory is also greater the further you move outside, that's not going to be an issue as Long and Sitton both excelled at those postings previously.
  11. Man, you hit 5 points on why I disagreed with Jason! Last point: Long has most prototypical size and skill set on the team to play left tackle. This gets him one step closer if needed.
  12. Disagree for multiple reasons. When I get some time later I'll give my opinion.
  13. Agreed. Two completely different players and development situations.
  14. If Glennon is a stud, I don't mind if he sits until he's traded.
  15. Disagree. David Carr was brutalized for 3 years. The guy never had a chance. Kurt Warner had some success before failure, so he had something to remember once he was put in a good situation again.
  16. I never really answered the question of topic. My answer is yes. In the last 25 years I can only think of 2 QB's that did not meet my definition of a franchise QB.(Dilfer and Johnson) What they had in common was undeniably great alltime type defenses. You must have a solid starter to compete from year to year. The great defense will fade through attrition. The franchise QB will be there for 15 years.
  17. Agreed. Add Newton, Rivers, Manning and Ryan to my list. Any situation where the position is locked down with no question who the leader is....
  18. If we had Trent Dilfer instead of Grossman, we'd have 2 at Halas Hall.
  19. 8 of those 10 had very good defenses. The question is, how easy is it to build a championship D?
