I almost wish a team would sign Alshon. My optimism for him took a hit. It would be nice to have the extra picks to rebuild the infrastructure.

Just for clarity. I never said he was elite. Beyond that, you simply repeated my post. Glad to see we agree.

I don't believe in signing elite players. It almost always fails. If we can add 2 defensive starters via free agency and draft our future elite players, that's the way. If our young guys get better and we draft well, we can still contend.

Cardale Jones is a poor mans Jamarcus Russell.

Take a look at Sudfeld from IU. He may be a late steal. Threw up some good scoring numbers this year. Big kid with a good arm.

I'd pass. My preference would be to sign or draft starter potential. He had his chance.

Can he withdraw from the draft? If I'm him, that's what I do. If he has nerve damage and is out the full year, he becomes a fifth rounder at best.

Sometimes they heal completely but lose the mental edge due to fear and apprehension.

I would start with locking up our homegrown talent. What is left after Long and Jeffery? After that, I go for guys that can start and fit our system. Draft BPA, BPA, BPA. That's where you get your impact players....

I'm iffy on Fleener. He drops a lot of passes in crucial situations. Same was said for Marty B and he played well for us.

Glad you brought that up. It made me review my post and I found that I did not include the draft. I meant to. Hopefully we can get 3 starters like last year.

My question to the group is this: how many starters need to be added in free agency to upgrade our team to playoff status? My thoughts are 6. 4 on D, 2 on offense.

GB move would suck. I couldn't imagine if they had Eddie Lacy working out with Forte in the off season.

He's order and slower. Not what a franchise on the rebound needs to invest in. He will be missed, but this is not a mIstake on any level. Thanks for the memories Matt.

I think Gore's contract hurts Forte, because he did not deliver what Indy thought they would get.

I think Ragland will be a starter, but 11 is too high for him
